Ch. 25// Loose Cannons

-It was like explosions of bullshit.-

Amy:

"PRIME!"

Everyone looked up at the screen, watching now somehow pissed Agent Fowler.

"What in blazes are your people doing out here!?" He continued, Amy had to rub her ear as Optimus continued to watch the angry Agent. "We had an agreement-- no collateral damage!"

Optimus' optics widened slightly, he looking down at his team, same as Amy sitting on his shoulder.

"I am sorry, Agent Fowler, but all Autobots are present and accounted for."

"Then explain why I'm receiving reports of two jumbo-size bots mixing it up 20 miles outside Omaha." The Agent demanded.

"Decepticons?" Amy asked.

"There has been plenty of infighting lately." Arcee replied, keeping her arms firmly crossed. "Megatron can't seem to keep his ranks in line." She grinned, which Amy replied also.

Even though being raped by the devil, and almost killed by him, Amy remained positive. She acted normal till to the point everyone were asking about it. That was when she was like a timing bomb. Even Optimus had kept his distance, but never left her alone. The Prime was shocked how cool she was with him. How relaxed she took the things in.

"Well, I'm just arriving on the scene." Agent Fowler informed, until the screen shifted. "Have a look." The radar beeped, locking on to one Cybetronian outside.

"I don't know-- paint job beside it can't be Skyquake." Bulkhead said, Amy flinched of the memory of the zombie titan. Shadowzone.. what a trip. "You and Optimus pounded him into the ground."

"Before Starscream yanked him back out as some kind of undead terrorcon." Arcee corrected.

"Gladly remember that!" Amy pointed out, looking the Cybetronian more closely then. "But the question still stands.. who's the dance partner?" She asked sarcastically.

The screen moved, revealing somekind of alien space-ship as behind it stood someone. It looked so familiar. The radar beeped once more, closering the view of their point.

"By the Allspark--" Ratchet said, their eyes widened slightly to recognize the person. "It is one of ours."

"Wheeljack." Bulkhead gasped. Amy told she knew the Bot! "Haha, Jackie's back!" He hit Ratchet, Arcee and Bumblebee's back, each of them taking step forward.

Trouble coming.

"I don't care if Abraham Lincoln's back! We have to contain this situation before we all wind up on the 11.00 news!"

"Hold your horsers!" Amy groaned as Optimus put her down on the platform. But when he made an ordering look almost to her, the girl only sighed in defense. "Ground-bridge coming.." She walked up to the ground bridge controls, opening a bridge for Bulkhead, Bee, Optimus and Arcee. They left the base running, leaving Amy and Ratchet to remain in the base. "Ugh.." Amy cringed to sat down, holding her head with her hand.

Jeez, another cramp today?

"What's wrong?" Ratchet quickly asked, with side glances watching over her but also at the monitors. They both saw the other Cybetronian scan Fowler's plane. "This is not good.."

".. Again Fowler?" Amy ignored Ratchet's question, the headache already getting away as she stood up. Now, they could see Wheeljack blast rapidly towards one direction, ending up to blow the whole gas station up. "... Fuck."

"Ow! Take it easy, Doc. I need that arm."

"Hold still and maybe you'll keep it." Ratchet snapped back, getting to continue his work by fixing Wheeljack's arm. Although the mech didn't seem to appreciate his work.

"Look, Commander, apologies for the firework." Wheeljack apologized, looking up at Optimus and his team. Amy remained to watch from the platform, chewing her gum. "Won't happen again. But I tracked Dreadwing across 100 light-years of space."

"I thought you were roving the galaxy-- you know, looking for Autobot refugees." Bulkhead said quickly.

"I was until I found one-- a wrecker." Wheeljack stated, the hope which formed up on every Autobot's face was big. Even Amy wondered where the other was then.

"Who?" Bulkhead demanded.

"Seaspray." Wheeljack said in deep tone, by the look of his Amy knew probably by then what it ment.

"Hah! How is that old barnacle-butt?" Bulkhead asked in laughing tone.

"Not so good, Bulk. Blown to pits, actually." Jackie didn't even flinch by spelling the words out.

"What...?" Bulkhead took back at this, horrifying face remaining on his face. "No!"

"... Dreadwing."

     Amy stopped listening them for second, hearing how Wheeljack told about how and where did the poor guy blow up. Of course she should've been more into it and sorrowful, but it was hard to take in a dying race's killing.

It's not so.. positive.

"--Hope he's enjoying the visit." Wheeljack suddenly stood up, grasping his servo into a fist. "It's gonna be his last, right Amy?"

The girl looked up in surprise, earning everyone's attention on her. She and Wheeljack had talked from last meeting all kinds of things, similar which both of them liked, and Amy knew he had gained some of his trust. Explosions, fun thing. Not hearing the rules, better. They were so much alike.

Amy grinned.

"Wouldn't it be fun?" Amy replied, and could already feel Optimus' hint of glare towards her direction.

"Wheeljack, this planet is heavily inhabited." Optimus spoke up, stepping on the former wrecker's way. "Any strike we make against the Decepticons must be carefully measured as a team, lest we risk endangering the human population."

Optimus.. there's so much humans!

"Are you suggesting we sit back and do nothing?" Wheeljack snapped, clearly the rebellious one.

"You!" Amy got startled, turning to look at Agent Fowler stop right next to her and pointing his finger right at Wheeljack. "Loose Cannon! Your cowboy antics almost blew our cover!"

"Cover?" Wheeljack protested.

"You're Robots in disguise, Jackie." Amy sighed, crossing her arms. "You need an Earth-based vehicle mode outside of here."

"That spaceship you shot down-- not Earth-based!" Fowler yelled once more, Amy had to step little away from him. "I had to jump through some big hoops to get it hauled out of plain sight!" He looked so dramatic. "You need to keep a tighter leash on your people, Prime."

"A tighter leash?" Wheeljack growled, turning to slowly look at Agent Fowler. "Let me clarify, tiny." Until he approached.

"Jackie.." Bulkhead warned.

"I'm not one of Optimus Prime's people." The wrecker growled, standing little up. By the action he grabbed Amy with him, shocking the girl and the Prime. "You and I need some catching up, remember timing bombs?"

Amy restrained herself and glanced back at Optimus, smiling akwardly in defense. His faceplate looked little cold but also worried.

"Yeah.. I certainly do."

"You plan to go?" Amy asked, rather surprised. "After Dreadwing?"

"For a 'Con like him he killed one of us, and he must be punished." Wheeljack replied. Amy hummed deep in though of remaining on his lap, until they heard footsteps approaching.

Our chit-chat ended up talking of Decepticons.

"Jackie, look. Even if it weren't for the humans, we couldn't take on the 'Cons right now." It was Bulkhead, forming up to near them. "We're outnumbered."

"-- Roadbuster, Pyro, Impactor, Rotorstorm, Seaspray.. all dust." Wheeljack stood up, putting Amy on his shouder while doing that.

"That's what I'm talking about. Wreckers are Autobots, there just aren't that many of us left." Bulkhead protested. "But if we get behind Optimus, we have a chance to end this once and for all." Amy smiled at his sentence.

Optimus.. what a spirit!

"Guys like Optimus-- they talk a good game, but when you're in the scrap, they don't want to get their hands dirty."

"Hey! My Guardian!" Amy was the one training Wheeljack most of the time, so if she hit him the back of his helm he didn't mind. Although he did shrug to her.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you don't know Optimus like we do, Jackie." Bulkhead said in defense, preferring to him and Amy beside his helm. "Being a wrecker meant everything to me, but I left that behind--"

"Because Prime was the real thing, blah, blah, blah." Wheeljack groaned, imitating like a child. Amy gave a sigh in defense by his attitude. Until the monitor in Wheeljack's ship beeped, Amy turning to look at it.

"Wheeljack, I know you're out there listening." Amy tensed to the voice same as Wheeljack and Bulkhead came into the ship. "I have a proposition for you."

"Is that..?" Amy started.

"Dreadwing." Wheeljack gave a grin at this.

"Meet me at these coordinates if you have the spark." At that Dreadwing cut off, leaving a pinpoint on the screen.

"I'll see you there, 'Con, just to watch you fry." Wheeljack sat down on his seat, ignoring the fact that Amy was still on his shoulder. "Want to see some action, kid?" Until he asked from Amy, who looked between the opened door of his spacebridge, then at the coordinates.

"... I guess I need some fresh-air anyway." Amy gave in, just for this once.

.. and Optimus will fry me.

"Jackie, it's a trap." Bulkhead defended quickly, knowing more than better of them.

"I know, but when has that ever stopped me?" Wheeljack required an answer, pressing few red buttons down to close the door of his ship. "You coming with us?"

Bulkhead didn't even think as he sat down beside him, exhanging careful looks with Amy. Until they saw the ship ready for launch.

".. At least let me call for backup." Bulkhead asked, knowing that if Optimus knows about him taking Amy with, he was going to remain base for holding bridge. Or worser; to put him clean if something happens for the human.

"You know Wreckers don't call for backup." Wheeljack looked up at Amy with smirk. "And you Amy, are part of us now."

"They call for clean-up!" Bulkhead and Wheeljack yelled at same time, grasping their servos with each other. Amy laughed once, jumping up onto their palms as she grinned.

"Let's move then."

~ Time skip ~

By closing up some random woods, Amy's heart had raced their whole trip in there. But without Bulkhead's and Wheeljack's knowing the girl had secretly left her phone up for Optimus and Ratchet to pinpoint them easier. If something would go wrong, she could argue back.

When Wheeljack landed on soft grass, the mech stoop up from his place and went for the exit.

"You stay here." Bulkhead pointed down at Amy, who raised her eyebrow. "If Optimus knows something happens to you on my watch, I'll be cleaning for the last few weeks some energon cubes." He said with flinches, stumbling after Wheeljack who also looked at Bulkhead like 'really?'. "You, stay out of this."

"Fine. Press that red button next to you if something comes--" Wheeljack pointed two of the choices in front of Amy, the girl looking at them. "It will target, and blow up."

"Got ya." Amy grinned, watching as the former wreckers exited the ship. Amy sat down on the Wheeljack's seat, yawning as sudden tiredness hit her. For past few days it had been like this, and her guess was that the less she used the depression pills she starts to feel like normal teens. Healthy. Even though up and downs on the trip she had gained more reasons to live up.

My eyes... fuck.

~~~
"... Are you certain she didn't follow you?"
Amy's eyes slowly dimmed open, only to hear voices from outside. By rubbing her tired eyes and slowly standing up, she looked first in shock of her surroundings until she recognized to be still in Jackie's spaceship.
"We can make sure of it--" Until the doors opened wide behind her, Amy standing up slowly. Her eyes widened to see other familiar faceplate along with Wheeljack came into view. The blue optics searched through the ship until they landed onto her laying frame. Softening second by second. "And look, she lives." Wheeljack said sarcastically, stepping into the ship.
"Optimus?" Amy questioned, jumping on the other seat as Wheeljack took the controls. Optimus came inside, until the doors closed from behind him. "Wait, where's Bulk?" She looked around, shocked.
"He has been taken by Dreadwing." Optimus scooped her up, taking the seat then. By settling her down on his knee he could see Amy's eyes widen up. "Your common mission didn't seem to go as you planned."
Amy sighed, crossing her arms and looking down.
"Look, I'm sorry.. I should have maybe then stayed..." Optimus could notice the regret in her eyes, he using his digit to lift her chin up to look at him.
"But, there might've had some good changes--" The ship took off, Optimus taking a better position and holding Amy by his servo. "I can see that avengerous side of yours."
Amy smiled, looking down in embarassment.
"... L-let's just go and find Bulkhead!"
~ Time skip ~
When the ship landing once more down and Wheeljack exiting his ship rather fastly, Amy was shocked that Optimus took her with by the excuse 'What if Dreadwing finds this ship?'. He never takes risks, but Amy and Optimus both knew there was only one Decepticon. No Megatron included.
Amy remained close of Optimus' helm, watching with Optimus Wheeljack's back as he navigated their way through the ship-cargos.
What on Earth does Dreadwing do in here with Bulkhead?
"We are close to population." Optimus stated, only to have Amy scoff little at him. "Remember--"
"Blasts and fuel pumps don't mix." Wheeljack groaned, looking down at his scanner. "Our boy's just ahead."
By turning a corner, every single one of the trio stopped, frozing on their spot.
"Hey guys..." Bulkhead had been tied by electric magnetics to one cargo, one of Dreadwing's bomb resting on his chest. Optimus took little back at this.
"Scrap." Wheeljack growled, stumbling closer with Optimus to their tied friend.
"Ugh.." Bulkhead groaned, his optics still rolling little by the knockout. Wheeljack explored the bomb more, holding his chin up in deep though.
"You really got yourself in a heap of scrap this time, partner." Wheeljack said, trying to touch the bomb.
"Stay back, Jackie." Bulkhead ordered. Amy flinched, feeling eyes on them. She looked around, feeling uncomfortable for some reason.
"Better get to work then."
"Have you ever defused one these before?" Optimus required softly, worried that one move could be deadly for all of them. Wheeljack pressed one point, revealing the bomb's insides little.
"Fail-safes, dummy leads, booby traps.. it's a work of art." Wheeljack stated, watching in awe down at all the wires.
"You can defuse it, you love granades." Amy cheered Wheeljack more, narrowing her eyes once more as she looked around. Optimus noticed her tense expression, side glancing above them as he could hear Megatron's comlink with someone.
"Amy--" Optimus scooped her quickly, hiding behind two cargos so fast that the girl gasped, holding on for his digits as she saw him glance once up at something. "I have a visual of Dreadwing, will you do me a favor and use that transporter over there when I say so?" Optimus showed her Dreadwing, along with the machine he was standing on near the water.
".. You want me to help?" Amy asked in shock, seeing how he nodded. Amy smiled little, nodding her head sternly. "I won't let you down then, partner."
Optimus stood up, placing Amy down and giving Amy pat on the head as he had his blaster out.
"Follow my lead." Optimus ordered, Amy nodding her head. When the sign was coming, Amy would run for it. "Dreadwing, if you are anything like Skyquake, I know you value loyalty and honor!" He spoke up, this time Amy couldn't understand what was in his mind. But as Optimus showed her to go, she slowly stumbled carefully behind other cargo. Still remaining little close.
"Is there a point to your bluster, Prime?" Dreadwing asked back, but for some odd reason Amy weren't afraid. Only the adrenaline filled her veins up.
"Only that Megatron knows nothing of those principles. He lives solely for destruction and conquest, but there is another path-- deactivate the bomb." Now Amy understood, once more of thinking his generoisity he had desided to suggest Dreadwing to join the Autobots.
But by the blaster clashing out it didn't confess Amy.
Amy saw Optimus hush her away, until blasts started to hit the cargo Optimus was behind on. Amy ran out as soon as she saw Optimus draw Dreadwing's attention by running away from Amy by blasting towards him. While they fighted and Wheeljack struggled to free Bulkhead, Amy ran for her life over to the transporter. It could move heavy cargos, so what could possibly be in Optimus' mind.
I hope I don't need to start throwing things..
Amy grabbed hold of the transporter, she starting to climb it up really fastly. It was so tall and she had so long way to go. But she knew her job could be fatal, and it could stop Dreadwing. Also she was in the danger zone, and knew she would be spotted soon.
Blast.
The grib Amy had to the metal-pipe was luckily firm as blast hit near her, she knew it wasn't aimed but random one. But when a servo grabbed her once more and started to climb all the way up, she felt relief brush over her to see it was Optimus. Helping her up, quietly. Optimus settled Amy inside the controls, giving now her the control of the situation.
"Once Dreadwing goes under that magnet, all you need to do is to release it. That way we lock him up, and our situation gets much more easier to negotiate with him." Optimus instructed, seeing how Amy nodded deep in though as she searched through the different switches and buttons, until she had hold of one.
"Get ready then, big guy." Amy cheered him up also, the Prime nodded in serious manner as he climbed his way up to stand on the magnet. Amy glanced down to see Dreadwing approaching with his blaster out, closing up to the bait. Optimus raised his servo up, keeping his blaster out as he waited to give Amy a signal. The girl prepared.
Come on, come on, come on..
Optimus' servo went down with swing.
With growl Amy pulled the switch down, seeing how the magnet Optimus stood on went down and fast, the roar he made while going down was something incredible. Amy ran out to hang out of the window, seeing just in time how the magnet crashed down on Dreadwing, locking and blocking him there despite his struggles.
Bulkhead, Wheeljack and Optimus gathered around him, Amy with grin watched the situation from there.
"Dreadwing, defuse the bomb or fall victim to your own device." Optimus gave a demand, Dreadwing looking away. Bulkhead looked little worried down at the bomb on his chest.
"I will gladly sacrificy myself to avenge my brother."
"Then we will, in return, gladly join the Allspark with our brother." Optimus protested, clintching his servo into fist.
Wait.. he don't mean that, right?
"And with you." Wheeljack crossed his arms up. "You'll never shake us." He was firm and serious, glaring down at Dreadwing. Bulkhead looked between all of them, everyone heard the timing closing up almost to zero.
Amy saw the glares between Wheeljack, Optimus and Dreadwing, which felt almost like internity. But the look Dreadwing gave lastly told anything just when Bulkhead embraced for an explosion.
"... Very well."
Amy stood more straighter up to see Optimus with Wheeljack pull the device off of Dreadwing, the 'Con standing to sit up enough to reach for the bomb. Bulkhead looked elsewhere, but every single one of them saw Dreadwing grab a blue wire, pulling it off on place.
"Whew!" And the time stopped. Bulkhead was relieved more than anyone.
Finally. Over.
"I had it narrowed down to the blue, or the red." Wheeljack said, glancing towards Dreadwing's direction. Until the 'Con pressed down his button, locking his optics to the human girl above all of them. Amy flinched by the look, stumbling little back.
And then; explosions.
As Wheeljack and Bulkhead looked to see explosions happen between the cargos and near them, Optimus' optics widened up to see Dreadwing transform and blast to the transporter's support legs, in the end the whole building giving up. The Prime shot enough blasters to chase the Decepticon away from approaching the controller-room any further. And Dreadwing luckily did retreat.
"S-shit-!" Amy jumped down from the crashing building, ending up to land -quite softly on Optimus' servos whp reached up towards her. Optimus shielded Amy from the water which splashed on them as the transporter came down, ending up to get his armor wet.
When the situation cooled little down, they stood up straight. Amy sighed in defense, sitting down on criss-cross position and watching now the sceen before them.
"So, who do we call for clean-up?"
