You were feeling down today. Even The Pet couldn't cheer you up with its licks and nuzzles. Kaon was out at the moment, leaving you to your thoughts.

You felt The Pet nuzzle your hand and you sighed, rolling onto your side. "Not now..." You huffed, ignoring the whines coming from behind. You weren't in the mood.

"Y/N."

You jumped a little at the sound of Kaon's voice, turning in the direction you heard it. He sounded a bit sad, but you couldn't really tell. "What, Kaon?" You huffed, flopping back on your side.

"Everyone's been wondering where you've been. It's not like you to be cooped up in a room all day." Kaon replied, and you heard him sit down on the berth next to you. "What's bothering you?" He asked, gently stroking The Pet's ears when it pushed its head into his hand.

You sighed and rolled onto your back, adjusting your head so your neck wouldn't hurt. You really didn't want to ask him this, but you also really wanted to because it was something both of you could relate to. "Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you weren't blind?"

He was silent for a moment, only the soft whines from The Pet being audible. "Have you?" He finally asked, continuing to stroke The Pet's ears fondly.

You hadn't really thought about it, so you didn't know what to say. "Not really.... but I guess it would be much nicer if I could see...." you mumbled, chewing on your lip.

"I think you're wonderful just the way you are."

"Why's that?"

Kaon sighed heavily, tilting his head down. "Before you came, I was the only one who couldn't see. I felt lonely. I felt like a burden to the others. I know I can use echolocation to navigate my way, but it's just not the same.... I guess I just wanted someone else to relate to.."

Your spark swelled with love for him and you wrapped your arms around him once you found him, hugging him close. "Well now you do." You smiled.
