MTMTE Rodimus X Cybertronian!Reader - Nightmares
First OS of 'em all, and I'm starting with my favourite bot. Hope you enjoy~
~~~
It has been a couple days since the crew of the Lost Light had added you to their trip, and because of your skills, you had been proven to be very useful in the Medibay.
So today was a day like another, or so you thought. You were patching up Swerve who had to stop a bar fight, and so was quite badly injured. When you were done, you gave him a light pat on the shoulder and told him to be careful next time. He replied to you that he would, with a big smile on his face, before leaving.
Now, there was nobody in the Medibay except for you, Ratchet and your friend First Aid, who walked up to you, telling you you could take this day off, as it is pretty calm.
"Are you sure? What if something bad happens and..-" you started, worried. "Yes, we'll be fine for now. And if something bad does happen, I'll call you. No need to worry, Y/N." First Aid replied, trying to reassure you, which he, most of the time, succeeded in doing.
You walked back to your habsuite, and laid down on the berth. Only a few hours have passed with you peacefully recharging before the yellow and red bot you knew too well stormed in the room, making you groan. "There you are!" He exclaimed, while also slightly panting from probably running from place to place, trying to find you. You let out an annoyed sigh, as this was not the first time it happened, and turned to the side, your back now facing him, and crossed your arms. "Oh c'mon! I'm gonna have Magnus on my back for coming to see you and that's your reaction??" "Why did you even come in the first place?" You asked, clearly annoyed. "Because you're new," he said, making you snort. "I've been here for days now, Rodimus. I can totally walk in the ship without getting lost now. I don't need you to come see me whenever you want," you replied coldly, now pissed by the unusual behaviour of the mech, who's now standing next to your form.
Many seconds passed without a single thing happening, before you felt his servo on your shoulder, and softly patting it, before hearing his calm steps as he walked out, and mumbled a "sorry".
Now, it has been a week since Rodimus had left you alone. He wasn't coming to see you, wether you were at work or in your habsuite, and when he needed something from the medics, he would ask or call one of the two others instead of you. Drift also came once to talk to you, as he knew Rodimus had quickly grown attached to you, and told you how down he had been for the last days. He wasn't complaining when he had work to do, or when he had to deal with things he didn't want to deal with, as for the other little misadventures on the ship, he would gladly take care of them, mainly to try to stop thinking about you all the time. All this happening slowly made you become worried about him everyday, and all this made you feel the same way towards him, as you could have anxiety quite easily, and so you always thought about how joyful he was, and all the efforts he put in trying to make you smile. But you were so worried that it was sometimes disturbing you during work, and First Aid being your friend, you told him about it all, but he still couldn't convince you to go talk to Rodimus.
Then, the incident with Rewind happened, and you were in the Medibay, really busy helping other bots that got injured, as you heard footsteps that sounded very familiar to you.
"Y/N!!!" He yelled as he entered the room. You sighed, and proceeded to turn around. "Not now, Rodimus, I'm bu-..sy..." you tried to finish, only to see coolant on the sides of his optics, and his lower lip quivering as he was trying hard not to cry. To see him like this broke your poor little spark, but you couldn't go reassure him just yet, you had a patient to take care of. "Give me a sec, Roddy." You finally said, going back to the other mech.
A few minutes later, you were done, and sighed as you turned around to see Rodimus still in the same state. You quickly walked to him and wrapped your arms around him. He pulled you closer, burying his face in your neck. "What's wrong...?" you asked, looking down at him as you saw the liquid on the corner of his optics finally rolling down his cheeks. He tightened his grip around you, and whispered: "don't leave.." "why would I?" You replied, with a reassuring tone, even though it didn't really reassure him. "To save us, of course." the yellow and red mech answered, as he lifted his head a bit to be able to look at you. Then, your Medic friend walked up to you to tell you that you could go in your habsuite, as he was sure he and and the other medic wouldn't require your help anymore. "But.. it'll be faster if I stay to help." "You have someone else to take care of, Y/N. Go, alright?" First Aid said, and again succeeded to convince you. You let go off of Rodimus, and instead took his servo in yours as you walked to your suite.
When you arrived there, you sat down on the berth and gestured him to sit next to you. You locked your optics in his blue ones, and put your servo on top of his. "I'm not gonna leave, Roddy" you said, as you saw a faint smile form on his face. "Promise me you won't" the bot replied, turning to look at you. You smiled at at this quite childish act from him, and softly squeezed his servo to reassure him. "I promise."
You two had spent the night together, in each other's arms. That night, you learned that Rodimus had been having nightmares everyday because of what happened last week, definitely not helping with how bad you already felt about it. He was still pretty clingy with you, because of what happened to Rewind, that apparently really affected him. You, he and Drift would sometimes go visit ChromeDome to try to make him feel better, as you knew how badly it affected him.
With the days passing by, you could see that Rodimus was slowly getting better, after every small date or moments shared together. You even once had the idea to give him a peck on the lips, surprising him so much that his system froze for a few seconds, before he finally understood what had happened, and pulled you close to give you a soft and loving kiss.
Even though you know there will be more obstacles happening during the travel, you still tried to only think about the present moment, and not to worry too much about the future, as First Aid and Rung recommended you.
~ The end ~
Woo! First chapter done. Hope that wasn't too bad, or cringy. I've been hesitating a lot about ever posting TF fanfics, so I hope you enjoyed it!
Repost because I'm indecisive and easily embarrassed, so I had to check it again.
