Ch. 7 | History
Iris:
"Dad! Dad!"
"Iris!?"
The panicking father run up to the large yard, scanning it with wide eyes to see no one there anymore. His 6 year old daughter was playing there just seconds ago with her toys, now only them laying there. The girl missing.
"Iris!?" He called again, now with soothing voice as he run up middle of the yard, making circle on his place. Her voice did hear seconds ago.
Then a giggle entered his ears.
"Daddy!" The father looked up with green eyes, widening them up. His small princess had somehow climbed up to a tree, now swinging just there by her bare legs. "Look, I can climb!"
"For Christ's sake, don't fall." He pleaded, jogging under the tree his arms spreaded wide open. "You know how pissed your Mother will be, Iris."
The small girl made low-lip, slowly reaching back onto the branch before hanged on it with her arms, before she let go. Her father had large arms and hands, so he easily catched his falling offspring... after it starting to tickle her tiny frame.
"D-dad!" Iris laughed, trying to squirm her way out without result. His hands kept tickling her sides. "I'll-- tell mom!"
"Oh? Then how about we make some pancakes?" Her dad tried to buy himself out with playful tone, which Iris rather quickly nodded her head. "But then again... if you tell Mother..."
"I won't!" Iris defended, his father raising an eyebrow. "Pancakes! Pancakes!"
Her father only laughed, scooping the small girl into his arms while carrying her all the way inside.
"Let's surprise your mom. By making some pancakes."
"-- Pancakes."
Iris was awake, had been in fact the entire time. She could feel a single tear slide down her cheek, as even the memory of her father would pop up into her mind. It was a horrible memory and Iris was thanking Satan that she didn't remember the... nightmare one. Yeah, her father's dead, had been like 6 years of her life.
Been through that like two years.
Then Iris felt something on her bed's edge, so her eyes looked down.
Only to blink them with brown ones.
"... Where did you came from?" Iris raised to sit up, now watching face to face with an ape. It was a large speciment, but Iris then felt cold air brush over her. She noticed that the window beside her bed was open. "Jeez, how long you've been there?" It just stared, once in a minute turning it's face tilting. "Alright, now you sadly need to--"
But the ape suddenly jumped forward, hanging on Iris' shirt as she hovered to lean onto the wall. Her eyes were wide as the animal took her earing and jumped off then.
"Hey!" Iris tried to get it as it run towards her bed, but jumped after it. She on it's heels. "Give it back--!" She harrasment it into a corner, giving a dangerous look as it was making it's own noices. "Alright, thief. Give it back."
It was a jewel she had received from her Father seven years back; so she wasn't going to let it go that easily. Not at all.
The ape climbed on the wall, then jumped towards the window.
"Oh no you don't!"
"-- Oi, Iris. What's with the all yelling...?" Praxina came into the room with yawn and tired expression, it soon disappeared as she saw Iris' half body hanging out from the window. "Iris!?"
"You damn ape!" Iris cursed, fighting now for her earing which was in it's palm she was holding on to. The ape was sitting on a tree, other apes behind it cheering it up as he was trying to pull Iris with. "Woah--!"
"You're crazy!" Praxina got hold of her leg, beginning to pull back. "It's ape, let go or it'll pull you with!"
"Gladly that then losing my father's gift!" Iris snarled, biting her lip while pulling even more. But there got another ape, pulling Iris and even Praxina this time. "Scrap!"
"GUYS!" Praxina roared, already herself standing on the roof. The camp they stayed in was huge, enough spacious for all of them. Right middle of the forest. "Damn--!" Praxe had grib of Iris' waist now, both of them with furious expression pulling back. "Is it important!?"
"My treasure!" Iris said, Praxina grabbing the ape's arm with grin. Iris was shocked as she actually agreed to help her.
"-- Girls!?"
"In here!" Praxina called, not long before Jack, Chromia, Megatron, Cyclonus and Alex popped up to the window. "Care to help--?" As Praxina let her guard down they almost fell over the roof, but Iris firmly kept her feet on the ground, leaning back with furious yell.
"An ape!?" Jack questioned.
"For Primus' sake." Megatron agreeingly jumped out... Optimus not long after that showing up and following. Megatron took grib of Praxina as she was pulling back, he easily pulling the ape with his muscles. He was, a man. "What is it!?"
"It has my dad's gift--!" Iris growled, Optimus looking between the ape and her. "Please...!"
Optimus scared one ape away, grabbing the one Iris and Praxina was holding on as he forcefully opened it's grasp, taking out the shining object from it's palm. He quickly stepped back by shielding it, Iris letting go of the her height's ape who now was shrieking at them. Praxina most certainly had proud expression as she showed her tongue at it.
"Hah! In your face!" Praxina cocked, Megatron pulled her back with him towards inside. It wouldn't be good time to annoy apes out. Optimus generously pulled Iris with him back inside from the roof, Jack giving her a hand by getting in. "What a morning!"
"That was fun!?" Jack asked.
"Here." Optimus grabbed Iris' hand, placing the small object on it. The girl then gave a squeeze to make sure it really was there, before she hugged Optimus when he intended to walk back downstairs.
"Thank you... again." Iris began realizing how many times he had been so helpful, akwardly letting go after a while with shrug. "It means a lot to me."
Optimus smiled, before stepped out of the way and like a gentleman showed the way to downstairs. Iris slightly blushed little by his action.
"In return, will you come down with me?" Optimus asked, earning Iris laugh in defense and she slowly walked past him. But Iris faced then Praxina's wide grin, the girl of her age wrapping her arm around her neck. Pulling her down the stairs.
"Aww, someone's got a crush." Praxina teased, Iris denying it almost immediately by trying to pull away from her. But Praxina never allowed her. "It's nothing to be ashamed."
"Shut up, Praxe." Iris snarled, grinning down at Megatron who was waiting for them. "Yet I believe you two have grown close."
"You better stuck that back down to your--"
"And you two stop." Megatron unattached the both of them while noticing their beginning argue, not wanting to be the one doing it after they get to real business. "You with me, while you with Optimus." Megatron pushed Praxina with him, while Optimus took Iris in other direction. Their eyes still locking. "Don't even try."
"She started it--!"
"Hungry?" Alex asked from Iris, after Optimus layed down on the hard ground beside him and Moonracer. Cyclonus and Chris came up there eventually, as Iris sat down on a chair.
"I'm starving." Iris replied, still shooting a dangerous look at Praxina who did the same. Now she having an argue with Megatron and Jack. Chromia never wanted to be part of it so she desided to walk up for the rest of the team. "... Where's Andrea and Perceptor?"
"They left early. We need energon to devour ourselves also." Cyclonus yawned, sitting against a wall now with his blade resting on his lap. Iris gave a nod, before she was handed quite the meal; on a tray.
"The villagers were really grateful of what we did, so they left us some food in thanks." Alex said, Iris carefully taking it. Her brow was more than raised of all the food. "Just eat it, I believe we'll need all the energy possible."
Iris sighed, still placing the tray aside. Optimus put that on a nod, guarding Iris' every move.
"I need restroom first." Iris stood up, stopping on her track before she realized there was only huge living room, and upstairs full of rooms. She stopped, with laugh grabbing her hips as she looked down. "Let me guess, no bathroom?"
"Sorry... you need to go out." Moonracer apologized.
Iris gave a sigh at this, beginning to walk towards the door. Optimus was so ready to stand up from his place, but Iris knew this was coming. So she stopped, making a smile to Optimus.
"You better stay there, or I'll haunt you down."
Optimus froze, slowly laying back on his place. Iris seemed satisfied enough, opening the front door up. She made one last glance towards Praxina who was already accompaning Iris now.
Her mood seriosly switches from time to time...
"I'll be back."
~ Time skip ~
"Good, you're back."
Iris flinched, as soon as she opened the door Cyclonus was there to greet her. The mech closed the door for her, being really close to her face. Cyclonus was a man with dead in his eyes, he was wearing a slight tored hoodie with purple color, he had trousers on which were purple also. But what really made him scary were his blades.
"Iris." Optimus called, earning his charge's attention. The girl quickly made her way to Optimus who in return greeted her, pulling her with him to sit down on the circle.
"What's with him?" Iris asked annoyed.
"Cyclonus... happens to have his reasons." Optimus only stated, not really wanting to even find out what was Cyclonus thinking. He was still unpreditable for him and everyone. Expect Chris, who happened to be his charge... yeah they were enough close.
"Okay, everyone's here." Jack sighed, holding his injured looking arm. Megatron seemed to have a cut on his face also, as Praxina was satisfyingly sitting between both of them with devilish smile. "What you wanted to talk about?"
That glitch!
"Yesterday, while every one of you were recharging we kept a meeting outside." Chromia throwed some sticks into the fire, looking up at the six humans. "We realized there's no point training you like this; you must emerge the enemy as soon as possible."
"Excuse me? For my opinion yesterday we were saving the villagers while fighting the things." Chris complained, eating a bread. "And they weren't easy ones to win... our height doesn't match."
"We can maximally take down two, before we need to rely onto the plasma-power." Iris shrugged also, sighing in defense.
"Yeah, when will you teach us that; transformation-thing so we can kick some butt and get the fuck out of here!?" Praxina asked, mostly looking at Megatron.
"That is something, that even we cannot teach to you." Optimus said, hesitance in his voice. "It is still far beyond our knowledge, but we weren't prepared for you to be ready so fast."
"So we technically have not prepared to this either." Moonracer ended, shrugging herself.
"... We're all stuck?" Jack groaned.
"It's a pleasure everyone's waiting so eagerly to share some more time with us." Alex growled, angrily flocked a tree piece with knife. "It's not that bad in the end, being the good guy of the story as beating up the evil--" He laughed, Iris pulling her knees closer as crawling up into a ball. "I look forward to it anyway."
"Does no one have a clue what happens when we kill the 'Galvatron-dude'? Or if we fail in the attempt to do so--?" Praxina was cut off.
"Without us there, you in any means necessarry mustn't go for the enemy. Even if you have your crystals to order you so." Megatron put that on a nod, the humans slightly nodding by bowing their heads. "Understood?"
"Jeez, is that Galvatron that bad!?" Praxina stood up, crossing her arms while she looked quite furious. "It's about time you start giving answers of you guys and about the villains, we can't possibly attack for someone without any information of them!"
"I agree... all we know from you is what's necessarry." Jack shrugged, leaning back on his swag. "You seem like not wanting to tell us more."
"What could possibly be worth to tell of our last life, if we have a chance to live now." Perceptor was drinking a blue liquid, Andrea sitting peacefully on his lap. They looked like father and daughter.
"It must've mean something. You kept your names and remember everything about it, right?" Iris hated the idea of knowing they were dead from inside... but their soul was free to live. She wasn't enough sure was Optimus' spark restored fully either.
"We do remember important details; like our birth-year, carrier and sire, what was the life before the war... but after it was set up, all I remember is how my spark was taken out." Chromia placed her hand above her heart, Iris imagining her listening her sparkbeat. Moonracer beside her comforted with sigh, rubbing her shoulder.
"Same goes for all of us." Cyclonus murmured from near the door, Iris only then realizing that he was keeping a watch.
"Except... for me." Optimus admit, looking down at the fire. The other Bots seemed not to reply, almost like knowing it themselves. Just when Iris was about to ask her Guardian spoke up. "Back on Cybetron, when the two sides; the Autobots and Decepticons were battling for our world, I was the leader of the Autobots... the chosen Prime of our world."
"Prime? Is that a title, name or something?" Alex had his brow raised.
"Yes, it is a title; granted from the Thirteen Primes themselves. The former Primes before me. They kept peace on our planet straightly and after our creators' sacrifice for our planet. Allspark rules our planet's core as it gives power for it, Primus the one who created it. Indeed I might have shared same faith as Primus in order to save our planet; I restored it. That is how my life ended. In peace." Optimus leaned back, sighing after his long sentence. Each of the six humans took time to process the explanation, in truth understanding more clearer than they should.
"You were a Leader?" Iris widened her eyes, noticing Optimus' head nod.
"Oi! Lockdown mention Megatron to be leader of Decepti-- something. Are you the bad sider?" Praxina almost jumped on Megatron's lap, earning unhuman snarl in warning. Her eyes dimmed of the excitment.
"... Though it was unfortunate that I'd see Optimus here, I knew to expect it." Megatron sighed in defense also. He made no eye contact with Optimus. "Indeed I am former Warlord of the Decepticons, but it took too long to realize what exactly went wrong. My life was the prize of it."
"Don't tell me, Optimus...?" Andrea gasped.
Optimus opened his mouth to speak.
"No." Megatron shut the thoughts of everyone, then, and only then exchanging look with Optimus. As if there was something they needed to still share conversation together. "I was taken down by Optimus' scout... it was a time I let my guard down."
... A scout?
"Oh, Bumblebee!?" Moonracer gasped, widening her eyes. "I knew the Silver-Con was extinguished, but by Bumblebee!?"
"Bumblebee?" Chris asked, the name somehow not getting into his mind. "Like a bee!?"
"Some of us did call him Bee, but his originated name was Bumblebee." Chromia said sweetly, smiling to herself. "I'm related to that scouty-stinging-Bee... by energon."
"Sister!?" Iris gasped. Chromia laughed as she made a fair nod, preferring her look to Moonracer behind her. "Oh, no wait a second-- I though you were builted or something!"
"Our race is able to breed also." Cyclonus reassured from the door, Perceptor bursted out laughing as he found the conversation somehow hilarious... bursting his energon on everyone. "Why'd you think there are femmes and mechs then?"
"For equality?" Praxina shrugged, but the movement Optimus made to sit up had everyone's attention.
"-- May this conversation left speaken for later, it would now be a great time to start speaking what is our next plan of succeeding forward." Optimus was firm. Maybe the main top of the last chit-chat weren't ment for him.
Cool down, big guy.
"Oi, do we need to think something?" Chris raised his eyebrow.
"Somekind of plan would be nice." Megatron cocked, earning glare from the young adult.
"Why us?" Praxina layed down with frustrated sigh, closing her eyes. "I'll sleep. Get it over with."
"Oh no you don't." Megatron pulled Praxina quite furiosly up, holding her now on his lap. She put on a fight but it looked pathetic compared to his holoform's size.
"Gosh, guys. I have no freaking idea of what to even do next!" Andrea jumped to join this conversation, Perceptor stood up from his chair by this.
"To tell the truth... where are we even going?" Iris rubbed her eyes, before grasping her stone which pulsed so intensively. The action was so obvious that everyone just froze and stared at her. Especially Optimus who corrected his holoform to sit on his knees, noticing how odd Iris' face had turned. It wasn't... looking like her at all. "-- I'm f-feeling something." She gasped.
"What?" Praxina sat up too, Megatron proceeding the same. Iris only panicked as she quickly scanned around the room. To notice no one else had same faith as she did. "Why's she the one getting something?"
There was a moment Optimus shared looks with each Bot, turning to Iris then. But the girl wasn't calm at all, her chest was burning.
"This is against the rules, but without explaining some important manners we cannot order you to command us... each of you have been bonded to your Guardian with a reason that links both of you." Optimus spoke up, it was admitting enough that every human -expect Iris, froze. Praxina was hilarious as her jaw was gapped wide open, her eyes comparing hers and Megatron's difference. It was so obvious that they had nothing common.
"WITH HIM!?" Praxina screamed, Megatron took that offensive. He simply put his hand over her mouth same as took a tight grib of her body, not intending to release her before Optimus would say what he had to say. Praxina didn't like it one bit.
"Well that's odd, I didn't expect to be a femme-like..." Jack murmured, Chromia didn't like it either as she had her blaster out. Pointing it straightly at his head. "What does that mean, Optimus!?" He quickly defended.
Iris felt a tug, it wasn't easy to explain but the crystal's connected to their hearts, so while the crystal gets a pulse it affects on Iris painfully. So the pulse was affective as Iris fell, only to Optimus have her back as he catched her, pulling half of her body to lay on him. Their eyes locked, hers possessing so much pain.
"-- What I mean; is that I am to teach Iris how to lead." Optimus said. The girl in his arms narrowed her eyes. Pretty much every human just stared, raising their brows for their Bots to think what they had to teach for them. "I'm afraid it has become time for you to meet my former mentor... Alpha Trion."
"What?" Iris gasped.
"Woah, already?" Moonracer holded down her breath. Iris was so scared to see most of the Cybetronians look down at her with high expectations. "That means--!"
"Not possible." Megatron made a look towards her, Praxina finally unattaching herself from her Guardian as she jumped little back. "The time in this world doesn't match for what we know... it's too early."
"FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!" Chris and Praxina yelled, exchanging looks. "What the fuck do you know!?"
Iris flinched, shutting her mind elsewhere. Like she was zoning out but this was far more wierder... there was a voice inside her head. Calling her, by her name. Inviting her. But where? It was unfamiliar, and as the voice got more clearer her chest was more in flames.
Optimus got her attention for second, sadly looking deep into her soul.
"Good luck, Iris."
