REVIEW: Honestly, the beginning is so beautiful the only thing I would have to critique is the non-period and regional specific slang like damn it, dumbass and restroom. Normally, in fanfictions, self-harm and suicidal though are romanticised or just badly represented but the way you describe how James is feeling is so raw and powerful.

You have just described the characters actions and feelings so well, like Remus and James' dispute didn't seem forced or unnecessary. It's just written in a way that if this did happen in the HP universe then it would definitely happen the way you're describing it, if that makes sense.

I'm sorry I can't give you more advice but its genuinely so well written, I'm very impressed!
