Thinking
As I was leaving the school Angel came up to me and grabbed my arm. "Ummm, Marcus do you maybe want to hang out today?"
"Well I actually have a lot to do today so I can’t, “I lie. It's just that she just told me that he was in love with me, Also that that she is really a he. Angel, my best friend for four years, is actually a boy.
"Oh well, I'll see you tomorrow, Marcus," Angel says as he walks away.
"Ya bye," I sat quietly. I walk home thinking about how Angel decided me all these years. Really we've even gone to the beach together. How on earth did I not notice this? Angel had always been girly nothing to even hint at her, I mean him, being a guy. When I get home I spot Abby in the kitchen baking. "Hey, sis what are you making," I ask.
"I'm making brownies and you can't have any," she replies.
"Come on Abby not even one," I say putting on a pouty face.
"Okay fine just stop making that face. You know I can't stand it."
"Yep and that's why I always get what I want from you."
"You are such an idiot," Abby mumbles.
"What was that Abby?"
"Nothing, go back to your books and leave me alone." One thing almost no one knows is that I am a total book addict. Being in basketball and reading don't exactly mix. “Oh shit, I forgot I have to return those books to the library. Thanks Abby you just reminded me," I shout as I run up to my room. Now where are those books at? I search through my room till I find the books. The books are on the floor by my desk. I grab the books and leave the house to go to the library.
When I get to the library I go to the front desk and drop off the books. I then go to the young adult section and search for some new books to read. I quickly decide on two books called Tell it all, and Never to be forgotten. After checking out the books I start to head home. During the entire walk all I could think about was Angel.
I mean what made him finally decide to tell me this secret. And didn't he also say he was in love with me? I guess I'll just ignore that part and focus on Angel being a him. How could his parents force him to do this? It’s so wrong to do this to him. Now that I think of it though Angel's parents never did let him do anything remotely boyish. I remember this one time about two years ago when his parents flipped about us just playing catch with a football. Though if I think back there have been several times when his parents flipped about games we were playing.
I guess I’ll just have to get used to it. It’s not like being a guy will change the person that he is. Angel is still the same person I've been friends with for the past four years. With that decided I start to walk a little quicker to get home.
