thank you! 🌹 + SPIN OFF????
[ if y'all wanna skip the whole thank you stuff, just skip right to the shahrukh gif to see the stuff about the spin off! ]
i didn't expect trance to get this far.
i came up with the idea around the end of 2015, from a little "what if" game. around that time, i started to become friends with anveshi- and she suggested the cast of fawad khan and priyanka chopra. from there, i started to become a fawad fan.
half way through the book -- about the sixteenth chapter or so -- i hit a rough patch where i believed the beginning chapters were UTTERLY awful and that i should delete the book and start again.
if i had listened to that voice in my head over your praise, comments and love for this book, i would have never completed my second book on wattpad. thank you all for encouraging me and supporting me. there's no way i would have made it without you all!
to all my authors who always delete books after their tenth chapter; it's not that uncommmon. most authors do this, and label their earlier chapters as cringey.
why does this happen? simply because you've developed as a writer and seen how much better you can write! for me; my readers helped me to get over how cringey the first few chapters were and i decided to edit the scenes to make them sound better. that's how i combated the issue, and i guess it's different for everyone but one main rule in order to complete a book must always be followed.
DON'T GIVE UP!
i don't care how cringey/bad the first chapters are!!!! of course they'll be awful!! you've developed as an author, and seeing your first chapters as cringey is normal. don't delete your book!!!
your first draft is for getting your thoughts out there. i don't care how bad it is, but never delete it unless you hit a hard author's block. you can always edit your chapters later, after you've finished your book.
the key to finishing a novel is purely simple. don't give up.
♡
anyways, i went a bit off track and started giving advice when i was supposed to thank you all! i swear i have the best readers on this book. you guys shower me me with so much love and support.
writing trance was not as easy as i thought it would be and there's no way i would've even made it honestly.
♡
what happened in the span of creating trance:
- i got two different hate accounts dedicated to me and my friends! both of them didn't attack trance though, thankfully enough!
- i made tons of new friends!
- i got over two hundred followers (i had two hundred when i begun this novel and now i have four hundred! also if you don't follow me, y'all should).
- i became an activist and more vocal on my opinions i guess ??? i was always the activist type but i started becoming more vocal.
- i became obsessed with fawad
- watched most of his tv shows and all his bolly movies
- fawad got banned
- still love him though.
(i don't blame myself -- MEAN LIKE LOOK AT THIS ART. i love my wife n my mistress)
fun facts about trance:
- nirvaan's brother was supposed to be in the surporting cast but i cut that out. he was about sixteen/seventeen and became super close to nirvaan.
- amir was meant to be killed by nirvaan, but i decided to make him somewhat of a grey character. by the way; nirvaan was supposed to "accidentally" run amir over as he rotated the car to get out of there.
- i never really had any ideas for a cast until meghu helped me out and for some reason, it turned out fawad and priyanka were perfect! although, i think that nirvaan's role could have also been played by someone who looked a bit less mature. idk, you guys can pick one!
- i got the concept and idea of this around when dilwale and bajirao mastani were these huge. so i started writing first drafts for the intro, plotting and thinking of the characters around december 2015!
- i published this book in april 2016. precisely: april fifteen 2016.
- i finished this book on twentieth july 2017.
♡
i guess this is all . . .
it feels weird saying goodbye to this story. i've had it within my heart for so many years, spent hours writing it and replying to comments. i've made friendships over this book, laughed with strangers and watched people become much more attached to matsya's and nirvaan's journey than i ever had. i love how you guys had so many theories, edits, covers and some how managed to know my characters better than i. i hope i did justice to the plot and i bid you all farewell.
thank you for being so sweet to me and this book. thank you for making me a better writer. thank you for the encouragement and inspirations. for all the laughs. for the monents where i almost cried because you guys were so sweet. thank you so much 🌹
♡
if you guys will miss me, follow me on this account to read my random rants/humour posts on my message board. chai with maya on aedilhaifawad is essentially the most chill book to hang with me for.
if you'll miss my books, check out:
- pyaar koi khel nai hai (translation: love is no game): a book much darker and with less humorous moments. however, it has more cute romantic scenes and has more deeper underlying meanings than trance. it's the perfect dramatic romantic book to curl up with and ponder about the characters. also it has some great relatable characters (a cool independent lead and the cheesiest and sweetest dude to exist + more).
- The Worst Cupid: much like trance, this book has a funnier plot line with underlying messages because it's not a maya book unless we have some secret message. it's tagged as LBGT, and is a teen desi fiction!

and finally, last but not least, we have the synopsis and summary for the spin off for trance!
Amit is an average, boring guy. The most interesting thing about him is his dedication to his abs and soccer. Besides those two, he hardly cares about anything.
However, his life isn't that simple. When he was thirteen, he saw his brother get kicked out of his home and never got the chance to say a farewell. He soons brushes the memories of his missing brother away as his parents forbid him to speak about Nirvaan.
But, secrets from the past always come back to haunt people. His best friend drags him to a disaster wedding where the bride -- a complete stranger -- confesses her undying love for Amit! What's worse is that her dad is the leader of a drug ring and will track Amit down to the end of earth if he had to. On top of that, within this chaotic wedding, he finds out that Nirvaan is well alive (from someone who almost killed him, apparently) and living life at the fullest in Europe.
Amit manages to run away along with Saanjh, the disaster bride. They make a plan; that Saanjh will help him to find Nirvaan as long as Amit helps her run away from her father and forced marriages.
Will Amit find his missing brother and manage to run away from a don? Join Saanjh and Amit on this humorous yet romantic journey of self discovery and indulge in the past to discover their present.
[Unconfirmed] cast:
varun dhawan as amit
the most dorky and emotional fool
who likes soccer a tad too much.
shraddha kapoor as saanjh,
the intellegent and cunning
bride.
♡
and i guess that's all! i hope you all join to see saanjh and amit's wacky journey with double the amount of comedy, romance and action than in trance. it'll of course have mentions of matsya and nirvaan within the future and more of nirvaan's past will be revealed. and of course, we'll learn more about what happened between matsya and nirvaan!
i'll post a chapter when the book is up (hopefully in a few months) and until then, you all should check out my other books #shamelessselfpromo.
thank you all for the undying surport 💞🌹 i hope i'll see you all in the future!
i can't believe i'm signing off for the last time.
vote?
