Of devlopments and potential cures
The Hashiras all gathered at the Ubayashiki Estate for the meeting. The atmosphere was tense, as recent events weighed heavily on everyone's minds. Sitting in front of them was their leader, Kagaya Ubuyashiki.
"Thank you all for coming," Kagaya began. "We have much to discuss regarding the recent developments."
Rengoku leaned forward, his intense gaze fixed on Kagaya. "Master, what is the current status of the fight against the demons? Have there been any significant changes?"
Kagaya nodded. "Yes, Kyojuro. We have received reports of increased demon activity in several regions. However, we have also had a breakthrough that might be of interest to everyone here."
Mitsuri looked around the room with concern. "What kind of breakthrough, Master?"
Before Kagaya could respond, Shinobu spoke up. "If I may, Master," she said, her voice carrying a note of urgency. "I've been working on something that could potentially turn Nezuko Kamado back into a human."
The room fell silent as everyone turned their attention to Shinobu.
"Really?" Tengen asked, his voice a mix of surprise and skepticism. "How close are you to completing it?"
Shinobu sighed, a hint of frustration in her expression. "I've made significant progress, but there are still several challenges. The blood samples I've been able to analyze from various demons have helped me understand more about the demonic transformation. However, creating a cure that can reverse the process entirely is proving to be extremely difficult."
Muichiro furrowed his brow. "What kind of challenges are you facing?"
Shinobu glanced at him, her eyes reflecting her determination. "The main issue is stabilizing the cure. Every formula I've tested so far either has no effect or is too unstable to be safe. I need more information about the origins of the demons and their transformations. The more we understand about Muzan Kibutsuji and his blood, the closer we can get to a viable solution."
Sanemi crossed his arms, a skeptical look on his face. "And what makes you think this will work? What if it's all just a waste of time?"
Shinobu met his gaze evenly. "It's a risk, Sanemi, but one worth taking. If we can save even one life, if we can bring Nezuko back to her family, it will be worth it."
Giyuu, who had been silent up until now, spoke softly. "We should support Shinobu's efforts. Nezuko has proven to be an ally. If there's a chance to save her, we should take it."
As the meeting progressed, Mitsuri raised her hand to speak.
"Master, if I may," she began, her usually cheerful expression now serious, "there's another matter that we should address—Ayaka and the other traitor demons."
A ripple of murmurs spread through the room as the Hashira exchanged concerned glances.
"Yes, Mitsuri," Kagaya said, giving her a nod to continue.
"Recently, we've encountered demons who have expressed a desire to betray Muzan Kibutsuji and join our cause," Mitsuri explained. "Ayaka is the leader of this group. She and a few others claim they want to help us, but it's hard to know if we can trust them."
Obanai narrowed his eyes. "And what makes you think they can be trusted? Demons are masters of deception."
Mitsuri nodded. "I understand the concern, Iguro-san. Ayaka's blood demon art can eradicate Muzan's cells from a demons body."
Rengoku leaned forward, his intense gaze fixed on Mitsuri. "But what if it's a trap? We cannot afford to be complacent. One wrong move could be disastrous."
Shinobu spoke up again. "I agree with Mitsuri. While caution is necessary, we shouldn't dismiss the possibility that some demons may genuinely want to help. After all, Nezuko herself is proof that not all demons are inherently evil. Not to mention Rui having proven himself worthy of our respect by giving us valuable intel on Muzan and his whereabouts."
Sanemi grunted. "Nezuko and Rui are an exception, not the rule. I don't even know about the demon siblings, but if the master trusts them then I'll respect his wish. Still, we need more than just their word to trust the group."
Muichiro pondered quietly before speaking. "What if we temporarily align ourselves with the rebellious demons and figure out if they're the real deal."
Giyuu nodded in agreement. "Tokito-kun has a point. We should use every advantage we have, but without letting our guard down."
Kagaya listened carefully to the discussion, then spoke. "Mitsuri, continue to gather information from Ayaka and the other traitor demons. Verify their intel and proceed with caution. Trust is earned, not given. We will use what information they have to our advantage, but always be prepared for the possibility of deception."
Mitsuri smiled, relieved. "Thank you, Master. I'll make sure we handle this carefully."
With the matter of Ayaka and the traitor demons addressed, the Hashira turned their focus back to their ongoing strategies, united in their mission to protect humanity and bring an end to Muzan's reign of terror.

In a dark room of the Butterfly Mansion, the Kamados and Rui were bustled with energy. Tanjiro was sitting on the porch with Rui, patiently explaining the intricacies of braiding hair. Nezuko, the center of their attention, sat calmly on a small stool, her long, dark hair cascading down her back.
"Okay, Rui, watch closely," Tanjiro instructed, his tone gentle yet focused. "First, you need to divide her hair into three even sections."
Rui, determined to learn, leaned forward and carefully separated Nezuko's hair into three parts, his fingers trembling slightly with concentration. Tanjiro nodded in approval.
"Good. Now, take the right section and cross it over the middle one," Tanjiro demonstrated, his hands moving smoothly. Rui mimicked the motion, his touch delicate and precise.
"Perfect! Now, take the left section and cross it over the new middle one," Tanjiro continued, his eyes glancing between Nezuko's hair and Rui's face to ensure he was following.
Rui's brows furrowed in concentration as he moved the left section over, his movements becoming more confident. Nezuko, patient and trusting, sat still, her eyes closed, enjoying the gentle tugging on her hair.
"That's it, Rui! Just keep repeating those steps," Tanjiro encouraged. "Right over middle, left over middle. You're doing great."
As Rui continued to braid, his fingers became more agile, and the braid began to take shape, neat and elegant. Tanjiro watched with pride, occasionally offering a word of guidance but mostly letting Rui work on his own.
After a few more moments, Rui tied off the end of the braid with a ribbon Tanjiro handed him. He looked at his handiwork, a small smile spreading across his face. "I did it," he said softly, a note of satisfaction in his voice.
Tanjiro clapped a hand on Rui's shoulder, beaming. "You did! It looks wonderful, Rui. Nezuko loves it, don't you, Nezuko?"
Nezuko opened her eyes, reaching up to feel the braid. She smiled brightly and nodded, her eyes shining with appreciation. Rui's smile widened at her approval, and Tanjiro felt a swell of pride in his chest.
The door slid open, and Shinobu entered, her expression shifting from curiosity to a gentle smile as she observed the scene. "Rui, you've become quite adept at braiding hair," she commented lightly.
Rui finished the braid and looked up at Shinobu.
"It helps to have a calm mind," he replied. "Is there something you need, Kocho-san?"
"Yes," Shinobu said, her tone turning serious. "We just had a meeting with the other Hashira and discussed some...rather recent developments."
Tanjiro, who had been sitting nearby, watching over Nezuko, looked up with a confused expression. "What's going on, Shinobu? What developments?"
Rui stood up and faced Tanjiro. "There have been some significant events recently. Some demons, including one named Ayaka, have expressed a desire to betray Muzan and join our cause."
Tanjiro's eyes widened in surprise. "Demons betraying Muzan? But... how do we know we can trust them?"
"It's a complicated situation," Shinobu interjected. "While we are remaining cautious, we also recognize the potential advantage their knowledge and Ayaka's ability could give us."
Rui nodded in agreement, "They still have to gain our trust, just like me and Nezuko had."
Tanjiro frowned in thought. "I understand. We have to be careful, but if there's a chance to gain allies and learn more about Muzan, it's worth considering."
Shinobu placed a reassuring hand on Tanjiro's shoulder. "Exactly. Follow me you three, I'm going to need to perform a brief check-up."
Tanjiro nodded, helping Nezuko to her feet. "Alright."
With that, Shinobu led the way, followed by Rui, Tanjiro, and Nezuko. As they walked through the halls of the Butterfly Mansion, the weight of recent events still hung over them, but so did the hope that new allies, even unlikely ones, might help them in their fight against the darkness.
