Narutos pov

"He's late again!" I paced back and forth in frustration.

"Stop pacing Naruto. You're making me nervous" sakura said sternly. Sasuke watched me with a silently judging expression. Jerk!

"Come on I cant be the only one who's upset here" I groaned "he can't keep doing this to us. When he gets here I'll-"

"Hey kids" we looked up to see the tardy jerk himself "sorry I'm late. I got lost on the path of life"

"You lier!" me and sakura yelled in unison. Kakashi simply laughed as he jumped down.

"Okay kakashi sensai" I marched up to him "we're getting started right now to make up for lost time. I can't become hokage with a tardy sensai" I marched off only to notice he wasn't following me "sensai?"

He let out a sigh "actually I have some news"

The three of us gathered around him, feeling worried. I've never seen kakashi sensai like this.

"the third hokage placed me, asuma, kurenai and gai in a special unit to combat an ongoing threat" kakashi explained.

"What does that mean" I leaned forward anxiously "Hey! Does that mean you'll not be our sensai anymore?"

"Oh Naruto, you three will always be my precious student" he petted my head, smiling at us with his eyes "I just won't be around to train you"

"Then how the heck are we supposed to learn anything!" I yelled.

"You'll be assigned a new sensai tomorrow. Go to the hokages office to meet them" with that he disappeared. I scratched my head in confusion. I don't get any of this!

Lee's pov

"You're leaving us gai sensai?" I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of my mouth. Our amazing sensai gone. How can I succeed without his infinite wisdom?

"I'm afraid so my students" he gave us a sad smile "an emergency came up and I must join the other Jonins posthaste"

"That's understandable" neji nodded.

"Neji how could you be so calm when we're about to lose gai sensai!" I demanded.

"It can't be helped Lee. Don't act so selfish" neji said coldly. Tenten nodded in agreement. She always takes his side!

"Nejis right Lee" gai sensai nodded "I have to part from you three but make no mistake. You'll be placed with a sensai that I put my full trust in. Promise me that you'll never lose your youthful spirit"

"Yes gai sensai" we said in unison.

"My beautiful students" he pulled us into a hug, crying manly tears.

"Gai sensai!" I cried alongside him. This is truly a sad day.

Shikamarus pov

"Eh? A new sensai?" I raised an eyebrow. I was half expecting it. My dad's been running around like a headless chicken all day. I figured something big had to happen which would interfere with my daily routine. How troublesome

"the third hokage places us Jonins in a special unit to combat an ongoing threat" he lit his cigar with a carefree smile "I can't get into the nitty gritty but I hope you understand"

"We understand sensai" ino nodded sadly.

"So I'm going to have to get a hold of a whole new guys personality. How troublesome" I sighed.

"Shikamaru don't you ever think of anything but yourself?" ino placed her hands on her hips. I shot her an annoyed look. Do women ever do anything but complain!

"Sensai to honour your last day with us I suggest we go get BBQ" choji suggested.

"You're just looking an excuse to go to the steakhouse" I shot him a look.

"Shikamaru I am insulated that you would think so low of me. I only had sensais best interest at heart" choji pouted, causing me to roll my eyes.

Asuma let out a carefree laugh "oh what the heck. Let's go for old times sake"

Hinata's pov

"Wait you're leaving us!" Kiba yelled out in disbelief. I can understand his shock. Me and shino. We feel the same. It's all just so sudden.

Kurenai had a conflicted expression "us Jonins have been contacted to tackle a threat. I'm sorry but it can't be helped"

"But that's not fair!" Kiba protested "you can't just abandon us-"

"Kiba that's enough" shino placed a hand on his shoulder "there's nothing that can be done. Control yourself!"

"Tch" he turned away with frustrated tears in his eyes.

"I'm sorry" she shot us an apologetic look before walking away.

I turned to the boys who were dealing with the news in their own way. What's going to happen to us now?
