Kakashis pov

"Understood. We'll get into position immediately" we bowed before leaving the hokages office. What a mess. I'm not sure if that guy's able to carry out his promise but better safe than sorry.

"Well if it isn't my only surviving student" my old sensai minato wrapped his arm around me.

"Sensai?" I looked up at him in interest. He hasn't stepped foot in this building since the day he stepped down from hokage twelve years ago.

"Surprised are we?" He winked at me "the old man called me in for some emergency training. Let's hope I don't get these kids killed too" he let out a forced laugh. Still coping with humour I see.

"Minato stop harassing the kid" jiraiya stepped in "we already have plenty of kids to harass as it is"

"Good point sensai" minato smiled softly.

"Jiraiya and minato. This is quite the reunion" orochimaru strolled up. I tensed up slightly. Orochimaru. The man that betrayed the village all those years ago. If it wasn't for jiraiya dragging him back who knows what would have happened.

"Oro. Long time no see bud!" Jiraiya wrapped his arm around him "where on earth were you hiding you slippery bastard!"

"I don't believe I have a place in this village anymore" he smiled sadly "alas sensai sarutobi has need for me so here I am"

"Jeez you're always such a stick in the mud" jiraiya sighed.

A boy with jet black hair silently walked past us.

"Itachi uchia" minato muttered "isn't that the kid who was ordered to kill his clan? I can't imagine the emotional labour he must be carrying" he eyed him sadly. Sensais is still so soft hearted.

"Anyway let's get going" jiraiya wrapped his arms around both men before leading them into the office.

Narutos pov

I tapped my foot impatiently. Twelve kids gathered in the hokage office with old man third and iruka sensai. Three of these guys I've never seen before.

"Argh I can't take all this waiting!" I threw my arms up in frustration "where are those jerks!"

"Naruto don't be so impatient" iruka said sternly "your new sensais will be here shortly-"

As he said that the doors swung open, revealing-

"Dad!?" I yelled in disbelief "what are you doing here?"

"I'm taking on a team silly" he ruffled my hair "hopefully I get paired up with my cute son" he rubbed his cheek against mine.

"Dad stop!" I pushed him away. He's so embarrassing sometimes.

"Tch!" Sasuke shot a glare at the raven haired man. What's his deal?

"These will be your new sensai" old man third explained "now in order to match your skill sets better with your sensais I'll be placing you in new teams"

"New teams? We're going to be in different teams?" sakura looked at sasuke and me in disbelief. We already worked so well together. I can't imagine working with someone else.

Old man third nodded "it's what's best for the village. Now team minato will consist of Naruto uzamaki, kiba inuzuka and tenten"

"So I'm with dad after all" I muttered softly. It'd be amazing to learn from him but why did I have to get paired up with dog boy and some random girl!

"Team Itachi will consist of Neji hyuga, hinata Hyuga and shikamaru Nara"

"Great I'm stuck with a guy I don't know and a girl with a troublesome personality. What a drag" shikamaru groaned loudly. Hinata eyed the older boy nervously. What's their deal? Are they supposed to be family or something?

"Team orochimaru will consist of sasuke uchia, ino yamanaka and shino aburame"

"Haha look who's in sasuke team now" ino stuck her tongue out at her.

"Ino pig!" Sakura growled.

"And finally team jiraiya will consist of sakura haruno, rock Lee and choji akimichi"

"I'm paired with her?" bushy brows blushed slightly. Sakura tensed up at his intense stare.

"That is all" old man third lowered his head "you're all dismissed"

"Yes lord hokage!"
