Final chapter!

They let you come home today.

You still look as white as a sheet, but they say you will improve after eating a bit.

I missed having you at the house.

We caught the train home and sat in our usual seats, the only ones in the carriage.

"It's quiet today. Just move your headphones back a little." You commented.

I didn't think twice about your statement before shifting them off.

You were right.

Just the gentle clickety-clack of the train against the tracks and-

Wait...

I turned to you with wide eyes, covering my mouth with my hand...

"You can hear me?" I asked softly, behind my hand, "You can hear the train?"

You moved your hand away from your ear and I saw a tiny hearing aid, barely visible, hiding in the crevice for your ear.

"I can hear you, Hobi," you told me. "Your voice is so beautiful..."

I could have cried...

You could hear me!

I pulled you close into a hug, headphones still around my neck.

"Congratulations!" I said softly, kissing your cheek.

"I have something for you..." you explained. "Close your eyes..."

I did.

I felt you touching my ears and suddenly, the noise around me was muffled, as if a volume button had been turned down.

I opened my eyes to see your gummy smile looking at me.

Reaching up to touch my ear, I feel the small piece of plastic.

"I asked them at the hospital." You explained. "It's like a reverse hearing aid... you don't need to wear headphones anymore... you don't need to be afraid of noises any more and I-"

I didn't let your finish, cutting off your explanation by pressing my lips softly against yours.

"I love you, Min Yoongi..." I whispered into your ear.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear that from you." You smiled.

We kissed again but we had to break it off as the train pulled into our station.

That train was the beginning, climax and end of our story.

I can't wait to get back on and begin our next journey.

All we need to do is climb aboard...
