The day after that, I didn't see you on the train.

On the 15th, I spent the entire day thinking of you.

Finally, on the 16th, you returned.

I let you sit down, noticing how you didn't lean all the way back so you didn't irritate the whip cuts...

How did I never notice this before?

All the signs were there and yet I remained blind.

On the journey home, I got out my phone and text you so I didn't have to speak.

Me:
'Get off at my stop today. You aren't going back to him.'

You:
Tell me the truth. How much did you see?

Me:
Everything. I'm sorry. I can't let you go back.

You looked at me then. I couldn't tell if it was a look of gratefulness or embarrassment.

When the train reached my stop, I took you hand in mine and gently pulled you up.

You didn't resist.

You'll be safer with me, Hobi.

I hope you'll feel happier with me.

I'll keep you safe now.
