Chapter 5
3rd perspective:
Everyone in cabin 15 was still settling down and trying to relax after all the drama at Daejeon station. Yong-Suk was exhausted, slumping down on his seat, and looked at the window. The train attendent sprayed the fire extinguisher around the door to their cabin so the zombies wouldn't be able to see them. The train attendent also locked the door just in case the zombies tried to barge in, and so he could make their safety more secure.

We all started walking quietly past the infected with our weapons open in our hands, but when the train passed the dark tunnel and light came back to the train, we all came into action. Sanghwa punched an infected in the face, Seok Woo kicked one in the stomach, putting up his shield so he wouldn't get bitten, Yong Guk beat another infected with his baseball bat, sticking his baseball bat in the zombies mouth, which I flinched at.
I basically just banged my sauce pan as hard as I could at every infected that lunged at me. The whole fighting zombie thing kind of reminded me of a video game I once played, which was exactly the same thing I was doing right now. Beating the crap out of zombies so they wouldn't turn me into one of them. I fought them off as fast as I could, terrified every time I saw one up close, so I fought even fiercer, like, Get the *bleep* off me bitches!
We fought them off for a while, quickly reached the door to the next cabin, opened it, and went inside. My heart sank when I saw the zombified people we had to fight. The baseball team and Yong-Guk's friends.
For a moment, me and Yong-guk were paralyzed, unsure what to do, when Sanghwa pushed past us, "Move." Like the good fighter he was, Sanghwa easily beat the zombies up by punching one in the stomach, kicking one away from him, and even slammed one up against the ceiling. Dayum did he take martial arts to fight hecka pro like this or what. Seok Woo struggled to protect himself from getting bitten by putting his shield up and repeatedly slamming his sauce pan against the zombie's face and then grabbing a baseball bat from the upper bag compartment, and tossed it to me, giving me a second weapon.
When a zombie lunged at me, I reluctantly fought too. "I'm sorry...." I thought sadly as I slammed one of Yong-Guk's zombified friends in the face with my sauce pan, and beating another one with my baseball bat. I looked back and saw Yong-Guk still frozen on the spot and I screamed at him, "Snap out of it! I know you don't want to fight them, but if you don't, they'll bite you! They're not the friends we know anymore!"
With that, Yong-Guk started beating the zombies with his baseball bat, his face a pure expression of agony, when he was fighting his zombified friends. Then suddenly, the train entered through a dark tunnel, making everything dark. The zombies all looked around in confusion, like, where da fudge did my meal go?
I knew this was our chance to escape them, so I quickly beckoned to Sanghwa, Seok Woo, and Yong-guk to follow me to the door. We tiptoed past the growling zombies as quietly as we could and Sanghwa opened the door first, beckoning us to come as quick as we could.
But of course the train came out of the dark tunnel at that moment and the zombies all turned around, finally finding us. "Go go go!" Sanghwa yelled and we went inside, shut the door, hearing the zombies growling and banging the door behind us. We all hid behind the door of cabin 12.
"Jin hee... You said that the infected couldn't see in the dark and they only react when we make a sound right?" Seok Woo asked, panting from fighting so much. "Yeah," I said, panting as well and wiped my forehead which was filled with beads of sweat.
"Give me your handphone," Seok Woo said to Sanghwa. "What?" Sanghwa said in confusion, then reluctantly handed his phone to Seok Woo. Seok Woo took his phone, then took out his own phone and added Sanghwa's number to his list of contacts. The train entered through a dark tunnel again, so we took this chance to go in quietly.
We opened the door, silently crept inside, and hid behind a row of seats again. My heart was rapidly thumping in fear, hoping I wouldn't get bitten. Seok Woo quietly slid Sanghwa's handphone far away from us on the ground and dialed Sanghwa's number. A few seconds later, Sanghwa's phone started ringing loudly and all the zombies growled and immediately ran to the direction of the sound.
Once again, we all tiptoed past the zombies and opened the door to the lavatory. Sung-kyeong and Soo-an looked extremely relieved when we arrived, Sung-Kyeong hitting Sanghwa on the chest, smiling in relief, tears in her eyes. Sanghwa stroked Sung-Kyeong's cheek, smiled, and put a finger to his lips motioning her to be quiet. Seok woo glanced at his daughter, thankful she was alright. Yong-Guk and I looked back at the zombies worriedly, and opened one of the doors to another lavatory.
Unfortunately, at THAT moment, the train came out of the dark tunnel and me and Yong-Guk quickly pulled Seok Woo and Sang-Hwa in the lavatory with us just in the sake of time, before a zombie glanced back at the lavatory doors, growling. "You okay Jin Hee?" Yong-Guk said, his eyes still flecked with panic and fear. "Yeah," I said, tiredly, stretching my arms. "Get that out of my face," Sanghwa grumbled at Yong-Guk, whose baseball bat was waving in front of Sanghwa.
"Hey douchebag, are you satisfied now that you saw your daughter, thanks to me? Huh? Are you grateful or what?" Sanghwa griped at Seokwoo. Seokwoo ignored him and replyed, "Why is your ringtone so crappy?"
"What's wrong with it?" Sanghwa said defensively, then asked, "How do I change it?" Me and Yong-Guk chuckled, and Sanghwa pulled me and Yong-Guk's ear, "Are you laughing? Little rats." "Ow ow ow! Okay I'm sorry, sheesh," I said. Yong-Guk rubbed his ear when Sanghwa let go of him.
"6 miles away, at 186 mph...." Seok Woo muttered, looking at his phone. "What did you say?" Sanghwa asked him, leaning forward. "The upcoming tunnel will give us two minutes," Seok Woo explained, showing us the map of the train route on his phone. "Can we do it?" Yong-Guk asked. "We have to, if we miss this one, there's another one in about two miles," Seok woo said.
Sanghwa glanced at him for a while, then said, "I bet you never got to play with your daughter, since you were busy being a fund manager, but when she gets older, she'll understand why you worked so hard. Dads get all the shit and no praise, but it's all about sacrifice right?"
Seok Woo stared at him for a moment, then Sanghwa said, "What's with that look? Did I sound cool or something?", trying not to sound hopeful. Seok Woo scoffed and looked down, no way. Me and Yong-Guk both smiled at each other, amused.
After that, we all waited in silence for the next dark tunnel to go past the zombies. When the train finally entered the dark tunnel, Sanghwa peeked out from the lavatory door a crack, and swore when he saw a zombie walk past the labatory we were in.
After the zombie near our lavatory walked away, me,Yong-Guk, Sanghwa, and Seok Woo quietly opened the lavatory door, and opened the lavatory door where Sung-Kyeong, Soo-an, the homeless man and In-gil was at.
We motioned to them to come out, and we all looked in the cabin in front of us, to see even more zombies than the last cabin. (Btw if ur wondering which cabin they're in, they're all looking at cabin 13.) Sanghwa and Seok Woo looked distressed and uncertain what to do, then I pointed up at the empty bag compartment and the next thing we knew, we were all climbing and crawling on the bag compartment over the zombie's heads.
Seok Woo grabbed a bag in front of him and threw it far away from us, which made a loud thumping sound. The zombies all ran towards the sound, and Seok Woo slowly climbed down, helping Soo-an come down, Sanghwa climbing down and helping his wife come down and the rest of us tried to get down from the bag compartments as quietly as we could.
Sanghwa opened the door first and beckoned everyone to come in quickly. Everyone managed to get down quietly and come inside the room between cabin 13 and cabin 14, but the homeless man slipped on a white cloth on top of a seat when he tried to come down and fell down hard, which of course made a loud noise, and all the zombies immediately turned around.
Soo-an tried to go to the homeless man to help him, but Seok Woo held her back, and pulled her inside in the room. He then went to the homeless man and helped him up, but light came back to the train once the train came out of the tunnel, and they immediately hid behind a seat so the zombies wouldn't see them. At the same time, Sanghwa, his wife, In-gil, Soo-an, Yong-Guk, and I hid behind the door.
"Plz plz PLEASE let the zombies not notice them," I prayed silently. The zombies kept on growling about and stumbling towards every seat. Seok Woo gripped his baseball bat tight and clenched his teeth when he saw a zombie walking close to the seat he was hiding at, while the homeless man was whimpering under his breath in fear.
At the last moment, the zombie near them went away and Seok Woo and the homeless man looked relieved. Sanghwa mouthed at them, Get over here! Seok Woo nodded, and mouthed at the homeless man that they would run to the door and get inside at the count of three.
"One!" Seok Woo whispered. "Two!" He whispered again. Seok-Woo was about to say three, when the homeless man took a step out of the seat he was hiding in and crunched his shoe on an empty soda can.
"Darn itttttt!" I thought in frustration and panic as I watched the zombies slowly crack their heads toward the direction of the seats Seok-Woo and the homeless man were hiding in. "Run!" Seok Woo yelled and they both ran to the door and went inside.
Sanghwa tried to close it, but a zombified woman (who was obviously having a bad hair day) managed to get her head in before he could fully close it. Me and Yong-Guk tried to open the door to cabin 15, but it was locked. What the hell? I thought we could've been able to get in since I wasn't in there before, saying that my friends were going to come in there, so I thought that bastard Yong-Suk and the others wouldn't lock this door.
"Hey! Open the door!" Yong-Guk yelled, banging on it with his fists.
Seok woo pushed past us and tried to open the door, but couldn't open it like us. "Don't open the door! They might be infected!" I heard Yong-Suk call from cabin 15. What? Me and Yong-Guk looked at each other in panic. We're screwed.
"Hurry the hell up!" Sanghwa yelled, struggling to keep the zombies from opening the door. Me and Yong-Guk tried to break the door by repeatedly slamming our baseball bats onto the door. For extra measure, I hit my saucepan against the door as hard as I could. Seok Woo ran to the door Sanghwa was barricading, and hit his saucepan at the zombies to keep them from coming in. One zombie got her head out from the door on the ground and growled, earning a saucepan beating from Seok-Woo.
"Open the damn door now!" Sanghwa shouted. "It's locked!" Yong-Guk called out as we both kept on beating the door with our weapons. The door still wouldn't budge, which made us both desperately smash the door with our weapons even harder. "Ugh! I'm going to kill that Yong-Suk!" I gritted out from my teeth.
"Hurry up!" Seok-Woo called out, then resumed to sauce-pan beating with the zombies. "Dammit!" Sanghwa muttered when the door slid a bit further, then placed his hand on the door to support his grip on barricading it, which a zombie at the bottom of the door leapt up at and bit on. Sung-Kyeong gasped and Seok-Woo, who was furious, yelled out in rage and smashed his sauce-pan against the zombie's head as hard as he could, fracturing the zombie's skull.
When I saw Sanghwa getting bitten, my blood boiled in anger, and I yelled out in rage, and hit the door even harder and faster, Yong-Guk doing just the same. Finally, the door cracked and shattered completely, and me and Yong-Guk both rushed to the other door to cabin 15, opening the door, but Yong-Suk managed to close it back a little, having Yong-Guk's arm sticking out in between.
Other people from cabin 15 rushed to the door, trying to help Yong-suk close it and I glared at them all in frustration. "Are these people blind? We don't have white milky eyeballs like the zombies, we definitely aren't growling like one and yet they're still helping the douchebag!" I thought angrily.
"Let...us....in!" Yong-Guk gritted out from his teeth angrily, trying to open the door with the arm that wasn't stuck in between.

3RD PERSPECTIVE:
Soo-an looked at her father and Sanghwa, who was beating his baseball bat at the zombies repeatedly and Sanghwa pushing the door back. Tears rolled down her cheeks, being frightened for her father's life.
Sanghwa looked behind him, saw his wife walking towards him, crying, and he yelled at her to stay away, frightened that he might do something to harm her now that he was bitten. Her face was a pure expression of despair and anguish as she cried harder. "Stay back baby. Please go!" Sanghwa urged Sung-Kyeong.
"Buddy, hey! Take her and get out. You have to go! I said go, jerk!" Sanghwa demanded Seok-Woo. Seok Woo kept on looking at him in desperation, not wanting to do what he asked. "Please. I'm getting tired," Sanghwa said dejectedly, leaning his sweaty forehead against the hand that was trying to close the door.
"Take care of my wife okay? I'll hold them off. Just go!" Sanghwa yelled at Seok Woo. Seok Woo looked at him in anguish and distress and glanced back at Sung-Kyeong, who was still crying and holding her stomach.
"I'm sorry....." Seok Woo said, tears in his eyes, and finally stopped pushing the door against the zombies, ran to Sung-Kyeong and pulled her arm towards the door to cabin 15. "We have to go, let's go!" Seok Woo yelled, trying to make her resisting feet move.
"Yoon su-yun!" Sanghwa called out to Sung-Kyeong, "That's going to be our baby's name! Got it?" Sanghwa's lips curled up into one last smile before the door shattered to a million glass pieces and all the zombies fell forward, crushing Sanghwa.
Sung-Kyeong started screaming and Seok-Woo struggled to keep her moving away from them.

My perspective:
Yong-guk and I were still struggling to open the door to cabin 15 by the time Seok-Woo showed with Sung Kyeong. On the other side of the door, Yong-Suk and many other people were trying to shut the door as hard as they could. Seok-Woo helped us open the door when he arrived, and with his strength, we were finally able to open the door, and we all fell on the ground, making the people from cabin 15 scream frightfully and jump back from us.
Seok woo, Sung-Kyeong, Soo-an, the homeless man, Yong-Guk and I were able to get inside the cabin, but In-Gil just stood behind the door.
Everything seemed to happen in slow-motion.
In-Gil smiled sadly at her sister Jong-Gil, who was looking behind her in horror.
Yong-Guk opened the door and tried to get In-gil inside, but suddenly, a zombie leapt on Yong-Guk and bit his neck.
He coughed out blood and started to twitch a lot.
"Yong-Guk!" I cried out.
I tried to go to the door, but Seok-Woo held me back. "Let me go! Yong-Guk! Yong-Guk!" I sobbed, my arms reaching out towards him.
*****
Yong-Guk's perspective:
I coughed out blood when I felt a pair of sharp teeth pierce my neck deeply. I realized that an infected bit me and as I heard Jin Hee screaming my name, I sadly thought about our last few moments together.
"I'm....scared."
"We're going to be fine okay? We're going to make it out alive, so don't worry."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
"I'm sorry......I couldn't keep my promise," Yong-Guk thought sadly as he fully zombified.
