Forbidden Ties
I find myself running as fast as my legs can carry me, my head spun as I darted my way from my bedroom and into my living room. Once I reached the living room I felt my chest rise up and down as I see Jace standing awkwardly near my front door, as if he's about to make a run for it, his eyes fixated on Gia who was on top of Smoke, fighting her on the couch, her red, newly manicured fingernails were entangled in Smoke's long black hair. Gia's long, voluptuous curls were covering her entire face, Smoke was clawing at Gia's petite wrists, she was clawing so hard that little cuts begun to form along Gia's arms. Smoke was cursing like a sailor as Gia tried to rip Smoke's hair out. I've never seen Gia like this, she had always been really patient with everyone.
Without thinking, I sprint over towards the girls, I wrap my arms around Gia's tiny waist and rip her off of Smoke, who was stilling swinging blindly, Gia starts to kick, buck and wiggle, trying to pry herself out of my grip. Soon as I set Gia down, I turn my back to Smoke and looked down at my girlfriend who looked like she was on the verge of a breakdown. Jace just stares with the blankest look on his face, seconds away from running out of the house.
All of a sudden the back of my head begun to throb heavily. I'm pretty sure Smoke just hit me. Gia looks up at me, her eyes glossing up with tears, her teeth tugging at her bottom lip and her nose twitching every five seconds.
I open my mouth to speak but Gia beats me to it. "Kit. How could you? Who is this bitch?" Gia angrily asks me, putting emphasis on the word bitch. My eyes slightly widen at her crude remark, Smoke will most likely-definitely hurt Gia for saying that in the most gruesome way possible. Gia balls up her fists, her fingernails digging into her palms, I quickly glance over my shoulder at Smoke, who appears to staring off into space again. Gia is safe for now.
I open my mouth to correct her. "One, don't call her a bitch. Two, as cliche as it sounds, this isn't what it looks like." I try to explain. Gia winds her hand back and a sharp stinging pain grows on my cheek, I find myself stumbling backwards, clutching my face awkwardly. This is the first time Gia has laid a finger on me.
"That doesn't explain a damn thing!" Gia fusses, backing away from me, fixing her messed up hair. I close my eyes and calmly draw in a deep breath, my head throbbing even worse now. "Just admit it Michael, you fucked this trashy ass bitch." Gia seethes, tossing her curls over her shoulder as she glared holes right through Smoke, her Russian accent is pretty strong now which clearly gives away the fact that she's beyond pissed. Smoke starts to giggle, moments later her giggles turned to laughs, now they're hysterical ones. I glance over my shoulder to see Smoke inching her way to her bag, I need to think of something and fast.
"For fucks sake!" I yell, throwing my hands out in frustration. Jace finally makes a move and walks over to Gia. Without thinking I grab the both of Gia's shoulders and pull her closer to me, she starts swinging wildly, her fists connecting with my jaw. "She's Greg's donor!" I blurt out. Gia's eyes widen as she slowly stops hitting me. She glances at Smoke who has her hand in her bag. Gia purses her lips as she plops on my couch that was next to her with a defeated look on her face.
"I-I. . .why the fuck didn't you tell me?" Gia asks, tumbling over her own words as she held her face in her hands. Smoke just stares down at her with the most emotionless look on her face.
"I was going to." I said as I took her bruised hands in mine. Gia glances at Smoke who just stares at the both of us. "So is she living with you now?" Gia asks me. Man, I hate lying to her.
Smoke tilts her head back as if this is all a joke to her. She's so insensitive that I wonder if she's actually human. But the real question remains: why does she always smile to herself? In fact, Smoke looks a little too relaxed. "Yes." I answer meekly.
Once Gia calmed down. I made her and Smoke sit next to each other and clear up the tension. . .well Smoke just started at the wall as Gia made an attempt to apologize. Once that was out of the way, Gia left.
Jace still stayed, he stood next to me, pointing a trembling finger at Smoke, as if he didn't expect her to be alive after getting hit. "You!" Jace exclaims.
Smoke tilts her head. "Need to get somethin' off your chest? I got two guns I don't mind sharing with." Smoke suggests as she crosses her legs, her arms spread over the top of my couch, her lips pursed. "I'm in the mood to send rounds today." She adds.
Jace shakes his head, completely thrown off by Smoke's dangerous attitude, if only he saw what she did last night. She's a fucking psychopath with no feelings, and the sooner I get her to where she needs to be the better off I'll be. Jace slightly backs away from the couch. "No! That's not what I meant at all!" Jace exclaims, throwing his hands up as if he was immediately surrendering, his eyes wide open as if he's seen a complete monster.
"He was in the car with me when you got hit." I translate, shrugging casually, Smoke gives out a hollow chuckle as if this whole thing is normal for her.
All of a sudden my phone vibrates in my pocket. I reluctantly pull it out, swiping through my home screen, answering it.
"Hey, it's Jona." The caller spoke.
