Chapter 36

~Y/N POV~

Slipping out of bed, the two little bodies laid flat out on the mattress unbeknown that I have gotten up. Their little breaths calmed me and even made me smile. I'm suppose to be sleeping with them tonight as promised but I can't sleep. I haven't really slept in the last week.

I still have that note that Yoongi gave me. It gives me their location and I have already looked it up and let me say it's a very unusual place to be staying. It makes me suspicious in case it's a trap.

Kissing my babies cheeks I quickly left the room. I'll be back in bed before they wake up so they wont know I've left the room unless one of them wakes up. Its not likely that will happen. They were both so tired after spending the day at a little farm to see the animals. Just a family day of myself and kids. It's what I needed to get some things off my mind and they loved every minute of it.

So they wont be waking up anytime soon tonight.

Leaving the room I tip toed down the hallway to the stairs. Headed down to the ground floor and decided I'll go to the basement instead. Bill lives down there but I doubt he'll be sleeping too.

The basement is like another living quarters I designed myself. Not only for Bill but for emergencies. It's also where I do most of my work anyway. The office upstairs is more like a work office. The space I use for my business that have nothing to do with my hidden life. It can also be used as a good decoy of my house was ever invaded.

Strolling down the stairs I stepped down the straight and narrow stair case with grey walls in either side but lights above turn on when sense movement. So there is no problem with sight.

After I reached the bottom of course I found Bill sitting at his own desk in the far corner of the room. is broad back facing me but turns around as if he could sense my presence. There was this tired look in his eyes but he's been determined to trace Jo's location.

I sighed, walking by him to a steel metal door just to his right.

"You should get some sleep Bill. Search tomorrow."

"In that case you should be back upstairs too. Sleeping." Bill

He stood up out his chair, looking back at me with his kind smile.

"I can't."

Bill shrugged and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Well neither can I." Bill

I rolled my eyes at him and punched in the pin number for the lock to open and waited for the beep. Then the robotic voice asked for my eye so I leaned in to the wall that opened up the scanner and the red ray of light scanned my eye just to allow the steel doors to finally slide open.

Glancing over my shoulder Bill was watching me, still with his smile to his face. It seems no matter how much he sees me do this it never gets old. He always found this technology fascinating but that's all thanks to my Grandfather upstairs.

That man and his toys.

But I didn't say a word to Bill and walked into through the doors and into a small grey painted hallway. The flooring was tiled with white and the lights turned on when sensing my movements. I walked down the hallway, passing four doors, two on each side.

Until I stopped by the fifth door which so happens to be the third door on the left hand side and punched in a code before it unlocked and I entered my main official office.

Bill didn't follow me in. He must of known I needed some time by myself. That man has grown to know me more than I know myself.

Another sigh left me when I sat in my large white leather chair behind my desk. Unlocked my top drawer to take out the note Yoongi gave me last week.

I've still not visited this address.

I don't even want to go.

But my inner business woman is telling me it would be wise to join temporary forces.

That this would be a good investment for both parties. We work together to find the same person, kill him and we all go our separate ways. At the same time I can learn how they operate and work together when it comes to tracking and among other things. It could be useful to know in case future problems arise that involves them.

But that abused, scared woman that bared torture from their doings was still inside me. No matter how much I tried to push her away, hide her to protect that side of me. She's still a part of me and she never lets me forget any of it.

Painful memories come back to me. Just everything they made me do and the physical pain along with the mental abuse, just floods back.

My forehead slams onto the desk and I close my eyes. My fists up to my chest and I take deep breaths to calm myself. I can't have another panic attack. Not another one. They were so bad when I was pregnant and living with my mother before she died. I barely had any. But after the twins were born I was scared shitless they would try to find me and take my babies from me.

Just the pure thought makes me want to scream but I hold it together and remind myself that I'm in a safe place. My babies are safe, tucked away in my bed.

I heard my office door click open but I didn't look up at the person. Their light steps entered the room and walked towards me before letting out a small sigh and places their hand to my shoulder. I flinched at the touch but when I smelled the familiar scent of cologne and cigars, I knew it was only my grandfather.

"Deep breaths Y/n. Deep breaths." Grandfather

His voice light and calm. Talking me through it so I can prevent myself from loosing myself to my own demons.

After a few moment passed by, I felt better to sit up but wiped the tears that managed to escape and sat back in my chair.

My grandfather now sitting in front of me in the spare white chair on the other side of my desk. His lips pressed into a thin line and eyes of concern towards me.

"I'm fine now. What are you doing up so late?"

"I heard you leave your room. I'm not stupid enough to ignore the fact you've not been sleeping." Grandfather

His brow raised but his eyes landed on the crushed note in my hand.

"What's that? Is this what set you off just now?" Grandfather

I nodded and uncrumpled the piece of paper and slid it across the wood to him. He picked it up, sliding his glasses down from his head to his nose and read the writing.

"Someone wants you to meet them at their location? Who?" Grandfather

Dropping the paper back on the desk I stared at it blankly.

"Bangtan. They found me and came to my club. One of them gave me this note and suggested working together to kill Yeonsan."

"They didn't touch you did they?" Grandfather

There was anger in his voice even if his face remain neutral.

"Only when one of them tackled me to save me from being shot."

"So he took a bullet for you?" Grandfather

I nodded, clenching and unclenching my left fist.

"Yes but that doesn't change anything."

The old man nods firmly.

"And it shouldn't. Real men don't do what they did to solidify their power over others. In my day men in our line of work respected the women. They would be used for kidnaps and such but never beaten or assaulted." Grandfather

I nod again, leaning more back in my chair. I didn't want to talk about any of that. And he knew that which is why he nor I said anything more about it. Silence picked up between us. Neither of us uttering a word to each other.

"So what are you going to do?" Grandfather

Shrugging my shoulders at the man I simply didn't have a clue.

"I don't know."

My grandfather turns in his chair, reaches over the desk to place his hand over my left fist and looked me dead in the eye.

"What does the inner self tell you? Not the wounded side but the side that carries your power?" Grandfather

"That it would be beneficial to avenge Mom and Dad while also learning their inside tricks. They could have resources that I don't and vice versa."

I told him without question, staring back into his eyes. But the man starts to smile, growing wider by the second.

"So are you going to stay in that mindset? To show them that they did not break you. That you are the powerful woman that is head strong and knows what she wants." Grandfather

I nod and slowly start to smile back at his words. Building confidence in myself when I know what he says is true. I know what I want in life and if I have to join forces with the last people I ever want to lay eyes on then I will.

"Keep your friends close but your enemies closer."

As I stood up gripping his hand in mine, there was a glint of pride in his eyes

"That's my girl. You are a Cho after all and I don't doubt you'll do well. Just be brave, be yourself and you'll fly through this life Y/n." Grandfather

I rounded the desk and flew into his arms for a much needed hug. He instantly hugged me back, chuckling and even pecked me on the side of my head. I held him tighter and just enjoyed this moment.

It seems I have a place to visit tomorrow and go from there.

Keep your enemies closer.

And that's what I'll do.
