Horrid Truth

Days passed, without him. I haven't seen or even heard anything about Lockdown.

Blossom and I spent our days with Siren in the medical field, or in our berthroom. We were served three meals at the beginning, middle, and end of the day.

We would watch from our small window out to the ground below. Mechs lifting weapons into ships and loading energon into crates.

We looked out to the far horizon, were all we could see was smoke and fire. The only lights were the bright spotlights surrounding the grounds, leaving the perimeter in darkness.

In time, my wounds healed. The gash in my helm had shrunk into a barely visible scar.

One night, loud yells awoke us from recharge. I rushed to the window to see the trouble, intruders trying to storm the base. They were unsuccessful.

Our mechs pounded them to the ground and ripped them apart. I glanced at the far horizon once more, I thought I saw outlines of what looked to be other warriors. I blinked and the outlines were gone.

Lockdown was finally heard from at the end of the tenth day. He and his team had searched the lands once more for survivors, that is what he told everyone.

But I could see that this was not the truth, his team's faceplates held great regret and pain.

He had invited me for the last meal of the day with him. Blossom would stay with Siren for tonight, as I with Lockdown.

As I made my way to his quarters, I decided of what I was going to say. I needed the truth of this whole operation. What was he really doing? Did he expect to to play his little game?

I stopped in front of his door, placing a soft knock on the metal. He opened it with a smile across his features.

"I am glad that you accepted my offer."

I nod and walk in as he holds the door open for me. As I step in, he immediately closes the door.

His quarters was huge. A giant window held the sight of the grounds below, a grand table stretched almost from one side of the room to the other. Light fixtures dazzled above our helms.

I spotted a door to the far left that must have lead to his berthroom.

"This is..." I trail off not knowing what to say.

"Quite large, yes, I suppose it is. But grand comes with a price, loneliness. These quarters hardly hold anything of my value." He finishes my statement.

I shake my helm, not wanting to hold back anymore. I turn to him with a stern expression on my faceplate.

"What is really going on here?" I spat.

He gives a dark laugh.

"Oh, so you finally have caught on?"
