A guy named Taehyung and I had literature, gym, and english language together. We instantly clicked from the moment he said hello. He even invited me to sit with him at lunch. I gladly accepted. It was a good opportunity to make friends and get to know the place better.
Our english class is on the 3rd floor and opposite end of the school from the cafeteria. This gave us time for him to tell me about the place as well as each of his friends. I had to practically cling to his arm to hear him. Seeing as the hallways were crowded during passing. He didn't seem to mind much, despite how awkward we probably look.
He kept talking and as I looked up at him to show I was listening, I couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. He had this sort of boxy smile when he spoke. He was very tall, thin, and much broader than me. He had a tan complexion with flawless skin. Full lashes and brows. And when I looked around quickly as we began down the stairs, I noticed plenty of others looking at him just as I had been. This let me know that he definitely had to of been somebody at this school.
I followed after him like a lost dog right until we made it the the cafeteria's doors. It was only then I'd realized he was still talking. At this point just telling me about his friends we'll be sitting about. Both their good and bad flaws, although I found myself tuning it out a bit. not purposefully, just because I was looking at Taehyung and others around us. Especially how others shot me odd glances as they'd glanced at him then how I was clinging to him. Because of that I'd let him go, the cafeteria wasn't crowded enough to hold onto him anyways. I won't get lost and it wasn't like I was listening to him that well anyways. Thankfully he didn't seem to notice the last bit though.
He pointed to his friend group then. Naming them off, but each name went in one ear and out the other. Right after I looked them over, I noticed the boy at the farthest left end from where we were going. He had tan skin. Paler than Taehyung's, but not paler than the boy next to him. He was about my skin tone actually. He had broad shoulders and didn't appear scrawny like Taehyung. He had A giant smile on his face; displaying both his top and bottom row of teeth. Nose crunched from laughing. Eyes in an innocent crescent shape. He looked rather conflicting. Both tough but innocent. And as I watched him quite literally poking at the boy next to him, I assumed his personality was about the same.
I stared him down without him noticing much. It wasn't until Taehyung and I ended up at the table that my attention got torn from him though. By then the tension surrounding the table settled in. Taehyung fell silent too and his smile fell. His body stiffened up. My focus then shifted to the boy with broad shoulders.
"He's gone. His family just dropped everything and left." He said.
Taehyung's eyes frantically searched the table. He searched for someone who wasn't even there. I watched as his expression grew more stressed on confused.
"So Namjoon Hyung really did leave?" He questioned.
The broad one's eyes softened with sympathy. He gestured for Taehyung to sit beside him. He did. Not without letting his bag dramatically fall off his shoulder first. I awkwardly watched him have his mental breakdown.
I had no clue whether to still sit down or not. Seeing as things clearly aren't ok in the friend group at the moment.
"Taehyung-Ah, is this your friend?"
The boy who caught my eye earlier asked. I looked over to Taehyung as everyone else did. He picked himself up just as quickly as he broke down. That's how he made it appear anyways. Forcing his friendly and boxy smile on his face as he nodded. Kindly gesturing for me to sit opposite to him.
"I'm sorry guys, this is Jimin"
That was my queue to wave awkwardly.
