presents were placed underneath of the naked tree christmas eve night, after anne dropped the girls off and the two boys composed themselves enough to where it didn't look like they had sex. after the girls were asleep, harry and louis put the gifts neatly under the tree for the next morning.

-

louis and harry woke up, with clothes now on of course, to two excited little girls jumping up and down on the bed happily, screaming, "it's christmas! wake up, wake up, wake up!"

harry turned on his side to face his husband, smiling tiredly as he chuckled. "it's christmas, lou. wake up, wake up, wake up!" he spoke in a slightly high pitched voice. louis groaned, lifting his pillow up and covering his face with it. "five more minutes?"

harry looked up at the daughters, who were just standing on the bed now as they looked down at their fathers expectantly. "let's give him a few more minutes to sleep while we head downstairs and start working on the tree, yeah?"

that seemed to work for the girls, as they instantly jumped off of the bed and raced out of the bedroom. harry playfully rolled his eyes with a smile, leaning down and placing a kiss to the top of louis' head. "five minutes, babe. hope your bum isn't too sore when you stand up."

louis lifted the pillow up, smacking harry with it immediately, causing harry to burst into a fit of laughter. he stood up from the bed, ruffling out his curls lazily. "you love me." he spoke in a sing-song voice as he exited the bedroom and headed downstairs where he would join the two eager girls.

he walked over to the closet in the living room, opening the door as he searched around inside for the large box of christmas tree ornaments. when he retrieved them, he moved over towards the tree with the large tote, where two girls were practically jumping up and down with excitement.

"what do you say, girls? tinsel or lights first?" harry chuckled, holding up each of the christmas decorations.

"lights!"

and that's where they started, and somewhere in the middle of harry trying to wrap the strand of rainbow lights around the tree, a fond looking louis entered the room.

"it's about time you join us." harry smirked, giving the boy a knowing look. louis rolled his eyes, flipping his husband off when the girls weren't looking.

louis joined the three of his family members, helping with the finishing touches of putting the lights up and around the three.

next step; tinsel.

okay, so maybe all of the tinsel didn't make it's way to the christmas tree. sure, most of it did, but other parts of it ended up in the girls' hair and all over louis and harry.

after brushing off the rest of the tinsel on his body, harry leaned down and picked an ornament from random selection. he picked up one of the small glass ones that was in the shape of a green wreath. in the middle was a picture of the two husbands, each wearing christmas hats and sharing their first mistletoe kiss.

harry couldn't help but smile at the memory; it only felt like it was just yesterday.

"look, harry!" louis jumped in excitement, pointing somewhere with his finger. harry raised his eyebrows, glancing over where his, at the time, boyfriend was pointing to.

underneath the doorway, was a mistletoe hanging from a small plastic hook. it was like harry had instantly read louis' mind, because now he was pulling him over towards the christmas decoration.

louis' eyes lit up with excitement as a smile spread across his lips, and before he even had the chance to speak, harry wrapped an arm around his boyfriend's waist, pressing their lips together.

it was slow motion, like in the romantic, cheesy christmas love stories. a sweet and passionate kiss under the mistletoe, and niall just so happened to sneak a picture of it; hence why they have it framed in the christmas ornament.

their lips moved slowly against one another's, the kiss bursting with passion and so, so much love. louis stepped up onto harry's sock covered feet with his own, leaning up on his tip toes.

harry had always been so much taller, and part of louis loathed that. but the other part absolutely loved it.

they were close to breathless when harry pulled back, resting his forehead against louis', whose eyes were still closed. "i love you."

"i love you." louis smiled, pecking his boyfriend's swollen lips once more.

"i remember that." louis spoke softly next beside harry, causing him to jump out of his little daydream. he smiled over at his husband, pecking his cheek.

"you were so excited to have that mistletoe kiss."

"hey, i was quite a cheesy lad back then."

harry rolled his eyes, but still smiled nonetheless. it was true in so many ways.

harry walked over to the tree, carefully hanging the ornament up on one of the tree limbs, letting it dangle carefully. after ensuring it wouldn't fall, he walked back over to louis, who picked up a small angel ornament.

"hey look, lou. they made an ornament that looks just like you."

louis scoffed, shaking his head. "put a sock in it, styles." but his cheeks heated up.

harry grinned, leaning forward to kiss his lips before returning to the christmas tote, pulling out the different ornaments that would be hung up on the tree. the girls rushed over, carrying several plastic ornaments in each hand as they ran over to the tree to hang them up.

-

the tree was soon enough completed, but just missing one major detail.

the star.

harry hummed in thought as he twirled it around in his hands carefully, analyzing it's beautiful and intricate designs. it was something that had been in the styles' family for years, and after harry moved out and into an apartment with louis, anne decided to pass down the treasure to her son and his sprouting family.

"now, girls," harry spoke, tearing his gaze away from the star to look at his daughters, whose eyes were sparkling in interest. "since willow topped the tree with the star last year, and rose the previous year before, how about we let daddy have a go?" he motioned over to louis.

louis' eyes widened, his gaze shifting between his family, the tree, and the star. "what-"

he was cut off by a cheer of enthusiastic girls, nodding excitedly as they jumped up and down. harry smirked, walking over to louis. "what do you say, babe?"

"but, i'm too short. i can't reach the top of the tree." louis' cheeks flushed a bright red tint, and he but down on his lower lip.

"not a problem at all." harry grinned, kneeling down in front of him with his back facing him, still having a grip on the star. "get on my shoulders, short shit."

louis huffed with a roll of the eyes, but still obliged nonetheless. he climbed up onto his lanky husband's shoulders, and harry kept a grip on his short legs to ensure that he wouldn't fall as he stood up from his crouched down position. "you better not drop me." louis let out a small squeak as he clung to harry's shoulders for dear life.

"since when have i ever let you fall?"

"well, there was that one time-"

"okay, enough." harry laughed, handing louis the star, which the smaller lad took carefully into his hands.

harry walked over to the tree, standing directly in front of it as he glanced up at the older boy. louis made sure he was stable on harry's shoulders, before leaning forward and capping the top of the tree with the elegant christmas decoration.

a grin instantly spread across harry's lips, and once the tree was finally decorated he let louis back down onto his feet.

"time for presents!"

-

the family spent their christmas morning bursting with happiness as they each opened their christmas presents that were scattered underneath of the tree. willow had received the latest webkinz that was put out on the shelves down at the pharmacy market, and to say she was overjoyed was an understatement.

rose was quite jealous when she saw her sister get a brand new webkinz, but all of that jealousy washed away as she opened her present; an american girl doll that came with three different outfits.

"oh god, we're not going to be one of them doll collecting families, are we?" louis murmured to harry, causing the curly headed boy to let out a laugh. "hell no. them things are expensive as hell."

louis playfully rolled his eyes (he tends to do that a lot), leaning up to kiss harry's cheek before harry leaned over under the tree to grab a medium sized box that was topped with a bright green bow.

"for my beautiful husband." harry chirped, handing the present over and placing it in louis' lap.

louis raised his eyebrows as he analyzed the gift box, before ripping off the wrapper eagerly. he sure did love presents.

when the wrapper was off, an elegant box that contained the actual present sat in the feathery haired boy's lap. he huffed, carefully snipping the tape that held down the lid with a pair of scissors, before lifting the lid and setting it aside.

"oh, god." louis breathed out, placing a small hand over his mouth as he stared down at the homemade scrapbook that contained hundreds of memories from over the course of the past decade the two have known each other.

on the front of the scrapbook, was a collage put together that contained pictures of louis and harry themselves, as well as the other boys.

'home is wherever you are' was written in harry's legible italic handwriting across the front of the beautiful scrapbook cover that was protected by a laminated sheet. the text was written on scrapbook paper that was glued down onto the front so it stuck out on the page, the collage displaying as the background.

"the boys helped put it together. they printed out some of the photos and sent them to me, but i set up the scrapbook itself." harry smiled, sitting crisscross on the floor next to louis while the girls continued to open the remainders of their presents.

louis instantly attacked his husband into a hug, wrapping his arms tightly around him as the two fell to the floor with laughter bubbling from their lips. louis' eyes even teared up with happy tears, absolutely in love with the present he still had yet to scroll through.

"thank you." louis murmured into harry's neck, nudging his nose lightly against the skin. harry smiled and kissed the side of the smaller lad's head. "anything for you."

once the two recomposed themselves, louis sat back up and retrieved the scrapbook back into his lap, opening it up to the first page. it was like a timeline of their careers, with some of the most cherished memories that will forever live on.

on each of the first few pages was the boys from their auditions on the x-factor, small clip-arts pasted onto the page and text boxes that included some lyrics from each of the songs they auditioned with that got them so far. in some other text boxes, were the judges' responses and how some received three yes's, or two, but it was enough to pass them through to boot camp.

the next was a picture of zayn sitting backstage, when he was supposed to be out on stage going through the choreography routines but was too afraid. louis smiled down at the photo, reading over the text, 'i can't dance, simon'.

louis let the tears spill down his cheeks. the memories flashed through his head and they only felt like they were just yesterday occurring, but in reality it was so much longer ago than that.

there was the moment where it was the group of girls and the group of guys out on the stage by themselves, and the judges announced that they were being put together as a band. across the top of the scrapbook page was the lettering that read july 23rd, 2010. louis even saw the picture off to the side where he jumped up and wrapped his legs around harry's waist, letting out a small giggle to himself as his thumb grazed over the laminated photograph.

other amazing moments and accomplishments were decorated across the pages. red nose day, their first show at madison square garden in new york city, their first brit award, and plenty other incredible memories they had shared together throughout the wonderful years of being a band.

there was even pictures from the last concert they performed together as 5/5; right before zayn was deciding on leaving the band. in each of the pictures the boys were crying, and it was evident up on the large screen the stadiums provided for the audience members.

and lastly there was the millions of 'larry moments' that all the fans tended to catch up on. harry and louis never had been the most careful, especially in the beginning years of being a band.

'next to you'

'oops! hi'

'kiss me you fool'

'we kinda share that, really'

'they call us larry stylinson'

it was incredible how smart most of the fans were when it came to the ship they claimed was true. hell, when the two finally announced their relationship, everyone was buzzing all over twitter, the ship name trending within moments of the announcement.

"i love you so much." louis choked out a sob after he finished through the remaining pages of the book, finally closing it and setting it carefully beside him.

harry smiled. "i love you so much more, lou. merry christmas."

then it was louis' turn to give harry his present.

but before that happened, the two shared a sweet, yet passionate kiss that they never seemed to get tired of. and that's the way it has always been, and always will be.

i actually really liked writing this, honestly. it's short, yeah, but it's a short story anyways. i thought this story was so incredibly cheesy, but i'm quite the sappy person anyways so it all works out, heheh.
thank you to whoever took time to read this; i know i'm not the best writer but i appreciate every little read, vote, and comment that shows up on my stories.
