Chapter Twelve
A/N – Hey guys and welcome to Chapter Twelve. Picture of Alana ^^^^
----- Hannah's P.O.V -----
It has all happened so fast that I haven't had a chance to tell anyone.
Once Drew and I got back home after the game last night, Dean told me that we'd be leaving for home this morning as we need to get back to England as soon as possible due to the funeral being in a few days.
It wasn't even as if it was an acceptable flight time, it was one o'clock in the morning that we were flying so we had to be at the airport for ten last night – considering we didn't get back until half eight, that was a fun attempt to pack in that short period of time.
There wasn't enough time for me to text everyone and let them know what was happening, plus I had no clue how to bring it up during the game partly because I didn't want to throw Tyler's game off as I knew he would be thinking of how I would be feeling and not focusing on how to play, and then Reece seemed in a somewhat good mood so I didn't want to bring that down by telling him I was leaving for a few days.
Of course, there is a part of me that doesn't want to be here, I don't want to have to say goodbye to my parents because that means they are really gone and never coming back.
I'm not a stupid person, I know that they are gone but it's the actual stage of admitting it to myself as there's part of my brain that knows fully that my parents are gone but then there's the rest of me that still has the hope of them just appearing again which I know they won't.
Both of my brothers have put up a strong front for me, they rarely show me what they actually feel as they don't want to make me upset. I feel very lucky to have them in my life – Dean took me in, he moved me across the world and allowed me to live with him, he has helped me adjust to a whole new way of things and I will never be able to thank him enough for helping me.
We should be landing in about ten minutes or so – we have flown with British Airways from LAX to Birmingham Airport and this flight has been a long one. In total, it has been fifteen hours, so we're landing just after three in the afternoon which will give us time to get to our hotel and settle in.
Alana wanted to sit by the window, so she is sat in the row behind myself and Drew at the window seat with Lewis in the middle and Dean by the aisle. Whereas in the two in front, there's me in the window seat and Drew is next to me with some random guy that fell asleep halfway through the flight.
I am actually surprised at how well Alana has done with this flight, considering how long it is and how young she is but then again, she has had the tv to entertain her and she's been watching some movies with Lewis so I think she has been well entertained throughout the fifteen hours – she did sleep for quite a while though.
Drew looks over to me and holds his hand out to me, so I take it and he smiles "You good Sis?" he quizzes as the plane starts its descent into land.
I nod and smile at my brother "Yeah. I'm looking forward to being back in Birmingham – even if it is freezing cold" I tell him causing him to laugh.
"Oh, come on, you know you've missed the cold" he jokes and I just roll my eyes.
Soon enough, the plane lands and the seat belt sign turns off letting us know we can unbuckle our seatbelts. Almost immediately I unbuckle mine, and turn around in my seat to go onto my knees and look down at Alana.
"She's just woken up" Lewis tells me, lifting up Alana who does look extremely tired and is rubbing her eyes.
Alana turns to me and makes grabby hands so I take her off of Lewis "Did you have a good sleep Lana?" I quiz the tired child in my arms.
She nods without saying anything and just wraps her arms around my neck, resting her head on my shoulder and basically falling back to sleep all over again.
People start to move off of the plane and I look to Drew "Grab my hand luggage please?" I ask and he smiles down at Alana before grabbing my backpack that has my laptop and other essential type things in it.
We all get off of the plane, and head to baggage collection after having gotten through customs.
The boys go to stand by the carousel whilst I sit down on the seats with Alana on my lap, still sleeping and even though she did sleep for a lot of the flight she is still tuckered out.
I get my phone out of my pocket, and turn the airplane mode bit off meaning I connect to data and such – I have an international package on my phone, which means it doesn't cost for me to text between here and America, my data works in both countries and it doesn't cost anything extra. I have unlimited texts and data too which is most definitely a lot of help.
As soon as my phone is connected to data, a massive amount of texts flood through from Tyler, the group chat with me and the team, Reece, Justin and Beth.
It's looking like they're missing me.
Without missing a beat, I make a move to call Reece first considering we did agree to go out together and then I suddenly disappear.
(H-Hannah R-Reece)
R – Oh god Hannah! Where on earth are you? Has something happened? I have texted you a million times and called you, I even tried the house phone and got no answer.
H – Calm down Reece.
R – Hannah, I don't get worried easily okay? And I have been worried sick about you. Usually you're at school or you reply or you're at least at your damn house.
H – I was on a plane.
R – A plane to where?
H – Home.
R – Your home is L.A
H – No you doofus, I'm back in England.
R – Why?
H – My parent's funeral is in the next couple of days. Drew finishing travelling meant that we would be coming back soon because it's all arranged.
R – Why didn't you tell me?
H – I didn't know how to. It's not exactly an easy subject to bring up in conversation. And I'm sorry.
R – What for?
H – You asked me out last night, and I am completely standing you up by being in a whole other country.
R – It's fine Hannah. I understand the circumstances, we can go on that date when you're back okay?
H – Sounds like a plan.
R – When will you be back?
H – Missing me already Eden?
R – Just answer the question.
H – Awhh. And I don't know when we'll be back, I haven't been told those details yet.
R – Alright Hannah. Just keep me updated, yeah? If you need anything, even just to talk at like one am or whatever, you can call me.
H – Thanks Reece. I appreciate it. I'll talk to you later, okay?
R – Sure Hannah. Bye.
I hang the phone up and try to not smile, I didn't know that Reece could be that kind. I know that he has known me for just over a month and a half but still, he didn't need to be so kind to me and yet he was.
Quickly I glance down at Alana and see that she's still fast asleep, gripping onto my jacket which technically is Drew's but it's warm and comfy and oversized so I stole it from him.
Lewis is standing by one case, but we have like five or six I think so there's definitely a few more to come still. I am anticipating another fifteen minutes at least, so it might be a good idea to call Tyler now too as I know he'll be wanting to murder me after I explain that I am not in the country.
(H-Hannah T-Tyler)
H – Hey Ty.
T – Where the heck are you Brit?
H – Back in my home town.
T – For the funeral?
H – You knew?
T – You told me when Drew finished travelling it would mean the funeral would be happening.
H – When did I tell you that?
T – Like last week or something.
H – I've slept since then.
T – As I am aware.
H – Well at least you're not worried sick.
T – Of course I'm worried about you Brit, but not because I don't know where you are but because I know this'll be a rough time for you.
H – Thanks Tyler.
T – We'll all be thinking of you. We're here for you if you need anything, don't hesitate to call.
H – Keep me updated with the games I miss though.
T – Whatever you want Brit.
H – Alright Ty. Bye.
T – See you Brit.
I actually did forget that I told Tyler about everything, however I kind of expected him to be a little more worried but I know he has other things to focus on and worry about so obviously I am not going to hold it against him.
Once I have put my phone away, I slip my backpack back on and stand up to walk over to everyone again. I gently adjust Alana in my arms though, my arms aren't the strongest so holding Alana for a while isn't usually the best idea.
Drew smiles and holds out his arms, taking Alana from me "Thanks Drew" I say and he nods in acknowledgement "Do we have all the bags?" I quiz looking down at the suitcases we have.
Dean shakes his head "Not yet Han – we're waiting on your second one" he tells me whilst Lewis is staring at the carousel intently.
"My apologies for having two cases" I joke which luckily gets all of them to laugh.
My case arrives eventually, and I grab it off of the carousel before any of them do "We good?" Drew quizzes, holding Alana with one arm and pulling a case with another.
Lewis nods, him having his backpack plus Alana's little suitcase and his whilst Dean has one suitcase of mine, Drew's backpack and one of his and Lewis' cases but I just have my backpack and case.
"Pretty sure we are" Dean answers, quickly scanning his eyes over all of the cases to make sure we've 100% got everything we got on the plane with.
Let's head into the freezing cold of England – which I most definitely haven't missed, despite Drew's claims.
