I could not believe that month of living in Derry had already passed. I felt like I was living a dream. Our house finally was all in place and it was beautiful. I had an amazing group of beautiful friends, I was doing great in school and I felt the most confident I had ever felt. My dad's new job was going very well and because of that he surprised me with two things: the beautiful sea foam green bike I had seen the window of a shop a few weeks before and the best surprise of all, the adorable and precious black lab puppy I had seen at the pet store three weeks before. When my dad surprised me with both, I started crying. The Losers had been over at Bill's house, and they ran out of his house hearing me crying. "Shauna?! What's wrong?!" yelled Richie. But when they reached my front lawn, they all began sweetly smiling at what was unfolding. My dad was laughing while I was being attacked by kisses from my new furry friend. "Oh, guys you are so sweet coming to check on me but I am fine as you can see. I am just being attacked by my new friend. Come over and meet him!" As the Losers came over, it didn't take long for my new puppy to attack the boys with kisses too. They all began laughing and screaming a bit at the love they were receiving from my new friend. As this was going on, I walked over to my dad and gave him a big hug. "Dad, this is so amazing of you. You did not have to buy me these." He looked at me with that sparkle in his eyes that I inherited from him and he said "Love, you have been through a lot. Losing your brother, moving and taking in a new place and needing to start over and you have done amazing with it all. I mean look all these friends you've made. When I looked over at the Losers, I noticed Lucy had arrived and squealed at the sight of my new furry friend. "Shauna! You are so lucky! He is so so damn cute! You have the best dad ever!" I smiled back at her and said "Damn, right I do!" I hugged my dad again, "Thanks Dad. Thanks for never giving up on me and I am sorry when I thought you did." He kissed me sweetly on the cheek and engulfed me in a tight hug and then kissed the top of my head. "Go have fun with your friends." He smiled and walked away and I ran over to my friends, where my new furry friend bolted over to me. "What are you going to name him Shauna?" asked Lucy. "I am going to name himmmm..... Shadow. I know it's simple, but I like simple." Everyone smiled at me sweetly. "I like it," said Lucy. "I like it a lot." "W-ee do to--oo Shauna." said Bill. "Aww, well good." I said. "As long as we are all best friends, Shadow is your dog too." And in saying that, I engulfed all my friends in a hug. 

Richie's P.O.V.

"Hey Shauna! Bill and is going to show the rest of the Losers and I his project he already showed you and Richie! We will back out in like 20 minutes! Don't you and Richie get into any funny business." Lucy said with a wink as she was walking away. "Okay, mom we won't!" Shauna said as she winked at me and stuck her tongue at Lucy. I thought my heart was going to beat right out of my chest when she winked at me and when I realized I actually was going to have alone time with her, the girl of my dreams. I could tell as the Lucy and the rest of the gang were walking away, that Bill wasn't thrilled I would have this 20 minutes of alone time with Shauna, but Lucy was helping me out here. I told her a few weeks ago I really liked Shauna, and she said she would start helping with gaining alone time with her. But what she also told me some news that kind of crushed my heart. Bill liked Shauna a lot too. I knew Eddie and Stan crushed on her, but it was not to the extent that I had and I guess Bill either. I didn't want to lose Bill as a friend, he and the rest of the Losers were like brothers too me, but I wanted Shauna to be mine, and I was having a really hard time with Bill wanting her too. 

When the rest of the group finally made it into Bill's house, Shauna turned to me, with Shadow asleep in her lap and smiled that beautiful smile at me. I hoped she couldn't hear my heart beating faster than it ever has. "Soooo, trashmouth Tozier, what is your favorite part of living in Derry?" "You" I wanted to say, but that would not have gone well. "Well, I really just love  you guys and the quarry. Since it is pretty warm for it being April, we should go this weekend. It is really beautiful there.... like you." Shauna blushed hard when I said this. It was so cute when she blushed and it made me proud that I was able to make her blush. "Awww, Richie stop. I am sure this Quarry is 100 times more beautiful than me." she said. "Well, not in my opinion it's not. You are truly the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, and trust me I like girls...  A LOT. But you are different Shauna. You are truly stunning. Any guy would be lucky to have you." She of coursed blushed again and smiled because she could tell I was blushing and looking down at me feet the entire time I said that. 

Then all of a sudden, something happened that I never thought would. She carefully placed Shadow on the blanket we were sitting on, moved closer to me, which made me nervous and excited all at once, cupped my face in her hands and sweetly, but quickly pecked me on the lips. Then she looked deep into my eyes, with her gorgeous, chocolate brown eyes. I wanted to stay lost in them forever. She then said to me "Richie Trashmouth Tozier, never ever look down at the ground when you are talking beautifully about a girl. No guy as ever said what you have just said to me. You have nothing to be ashamed of. You are an amazing guy, that any girl would be lucky to have you. I for a fact know of a girl that would love to be the girl you loved, kept safe and cherished. I am not in the place right now to tell you who it is because she likes another guy too right now and she just needs more time to figure out. But, if you are the guy she chooses and you end up choosing her, you will make her life very happy, she knows that.  After she said this, she smiled sweetly at me and hugged me tight and I hugged her tight back. 

I didn't want to let go. Was that girl her? Was the other guy she liked Bill? I heard she might like Bill but I never heard anything about her liking me. Even if the other guy is Bill and this girl she speaks of is her she likes me too which made me beyond happy. But I have to keep a clear mind because it might not be me. "Thanks Shauna for those kind words and signs of affection. " She smiled sheepishly at me and cutely blushed.. again. "You are truly a gem." "What does that mean?" she asked cutely. "It means you are flawless, perfect basically." I said blushing. She smiled sweetly again and chuckled saying "Well that does not sound like me. I have so many flaws." This time I pulled her close to me and I bravely kissed her sweetly on the lips and said after I pulled away, "Well I don't think you have any. And even if you do, your flaws are a part of you and to me you are perfect." She smiled but she started crying and I felt bad and I pulled her into a tight hug. "Oh my God Shauna. I am so sorry. Was it something I said?" She nodded her head and said softly, "Yes,Richie it is what you said. No one has ever spoken such kind and beautiful words to me." She looked up at me. "I don't deserve someone like you. And I guess I should just say it. That girl I spoke of about 5 minutes ago.... that girl is me. I like you Richie, I like you a lot. But I also have feelings for Bill. I was intrigued by you the first day I met you. There was something about you I just felt attracted to. But I feel similarly about Bill. I just need to sort things out and make sure things work, but I have this deep feeling Richie, I will be choosing you. No guy has treated me the way you and Bill have and I am new to all of this, so I just need time." I looked at her with such... love. It was right then in there after what she just confessed to me, whether she ended up choosing me or not, I would always feel this way for her. I... I loved her. But I was not nearly ready to tell her that yet. One day I will.. one day soon. 

It would be 5 minutes more before the rest of the group came out with Lucy and this precious and beautiful time with the girl I loved would be ending, for now. I pulled her close to me and kissed the top of her head. I then took my finger and placed it under her chin and lifted her chin up. I smiled at her and she smiled back. "Shauna, regardless of who you choose, Bill or me, I will never stop liking you. I will always care about you, more than anyone I have ever cared about. Butttt, you should choose me." I said with a wink. With that she laughed and pushed me to the ground and said "Oh, you charmer Tozier!" I then sat up and lightly tackled her to the ground and started tickling her. Her laugh was the most precious and beautiful laugh I have ever heard. She then started tickling me back and now both of us were in fits of laughter.

Man.... I wanted the rest of my life to be like this, with her. Please Shauna. PLEASE PLEASE pick me.
