Ally's POV:

After lunch, me and Jughead went to Pop's so he could finish his article about Jason Blossom's death.

Dad was working his shift too, and he kept glancing out the window, probably hoping no one important would see him in his ridiculous uniform.

"So remind me again why you enlisted help from Sweet Pea of all people." Jug said while furiously typing away on his laptop.

"So that's his name, Sweet Pea? Weird for a gang member, huh?" I looked up to see Jughead nodding his head distractedly.

I sighed, sipping my milkshake. Sweet Pea. That's sexy.

I then blushed and mentally scolded myself. I must've done it verbally a bit too, because Jug had stopped typing and was looking at me with one eyebrow raised. I smiled innocently and he turned back to his work, shaking his head.

"You're lucky I love you, Al." he said.

"I know."

Just then, the door burst open and some ginger-haired girl came in.

She looked really familiar.

"Is that...?" I trailed off.

"Cheryl Blossom? Yeah." Jug scoffed.

Cheryl and me used to be best friends before I left, but Jason would hit on me a lot, even as a little kid, and Cheryl didn't like to do things without Jason, but I was the opposite.

I watched intently as Cheryl talked to Pop's, probably something about Jason. Then she saw me and Jug and she walked over to our booth.

"Ally, long time, no see."

Cheryl and I spent some time catching up with Jug rolling his eyes at about everything she said. Guess he was still bitter about the whole Jason ordeal, being the overprotective brother he was.

Then, Penelope showed up, making an entrance similar to Cheryl's. It's apparently a Blossom thing.

"Cheryl, it's time to go." she said in her usual icy tone. "What are you doing hanging out with these Southside scum?"

"Excuse me?" Jug stands up.

"Well, you do attend school and live on the Southside, associating with 'druggies'." Penelope said with a smirk and air quotes on 'druggies'.

I looked over at Cheryl because she was being unusually quiet. We shared a look and I could tell she wanted this to be over.

"Jug, leave it alone."

He looked at me and I stared him straight in the eyes like 'Don't push your luck'. He sighed and sat back down and closed his laptop, chugging his long forgotten strawberry milkshake, cringing at the cold.

The Blossoms turned to leave as Cheryl mouthed an apology, earning a nod from me.

"Why are the Blossoms so messed up?" Jug asked as we waved bye to Pop Tate and started walking home.

"They're not messed up, at least not all of them, they just do messed up shit."
