Friends and Family
~Meanwhile on the Mainland~
Gotham City
Wayne Manor
6:32p.m.
The Manor has become a ghost town ever since Robin became a child of the sea.
Nightwing, Red Hood and Red Robin had temporarily took over Batman's spot in the Justice League because the Caped Crusader had no courage to fight the forces of evil until his son is ones again, under the same roof as he is.
Towards West Wing of the Manor, is located another computer room which more high tech and private compared to the computers in the Batcave.
Bruce sits in front of the a computer, scanning through the files of the League Record of Villains, hoping to find a lead or a clue to his sons problem. But he's not alone. Damian's Dog, Titus kept him company by laying next to him.
"You really need to get some bed rest, Master Bruce." The Manors Butler, Alfred walks in the room, pushing a food trolley with him. "You haven't got enough rest, neither have you had anything to eat."
"I'm not going to rest until I get my son back." Bruce said. "Or at least an indication or news that he is alright."
"I understand how difficult this must be you, Master. For all of us." Alfred settles the food trolley next to Titus. "But please, it won't do us any good if something bad would've happened to your health."
"Drinking pots of stale coffee and with an empty stomach isn't enough. Not to mention how severely unhealthy it is." The butler said. "So, I've made you your favorite, mulligatawny soup."
Alfred held the smoking hot bowl of soup a few inches away from his master. But apparently, the Dark Knight doesn't even glance to it.
Alfred thought by preparing his master's favorite meal, the master would reconsider his choices in consuming some food. But unfortunately, he did not.
Due to his master's ignorance, he began to feel hopeless and decides to give up.
"I'll leave the food here." Alfred put the soup away and turns around, heading towards the exit. "Remember, creating a pity party isn't going to make things better. Think about how Master Damian will feel when he finally gets to return home and then finds you lying in a hospital."
The butler steps out of the room, and gave Bruce one last glance over the shoulder just before completely getting out of sight.
The Caped Crusader closes his eyes and leans back onto his chair as he exhales slowly. He then drags his palms over his tired face. His eyes travel to the soup that was placed next to the computer keyboard. Just by looking at it, his stomach starts to grumble. The delicious smell of the soup made his mouth watered. He lift his arm and was about to reach for it but before he could, the Bat computers started ringing. Mera, was calling. He quickly hit answer and the screen brought up Mera's face, calling from Atlantis.
"Bruce, I've got some good news." Mera said.
"What is it?" Bruce ask, eager to know what it is.
"We're close to tracking down Damian." She said. "It turns out, he spoke with two other Sirens. They said he was finding a way to Atlantis."
"That's great!" Batman rose from his seat. "Is he already in Atlantis?"
"Not yet but I think it might take some time before he does because there are numerous ways to get to Atlantis. She said. "I don't know specifically on which way is he taking... neither do the Sirens who he spoke to."
Suddenly the Caped Crusader had lost his joy. But compared to before, he felt a little better because he knows that his son is still alive.
"I'll have to track him down in each way." She said. "The sea is very big, Bruce, but I know that wherever he is, I will find him."
"Thank you, Mera." Bruce said. "Though it isn't exactly the good news I was expecting it made me feel better, knowing that he's okay."
"My pleasure." The red-haired queen said. "I'll inform you if I get anything next.
"Please do." Bruce said calmly. "Thank you again."
Mera ends the call, leaving Bruce staring at the computer icons.
The Dark Knight ones again lends his back against the chair and exhale slowly. Instead of feeling hopeless like before, this time, he smiled a hopeful smile.
His navy blue eyes gaze towards the mulligatawny soup. He waste no time and immediately reach for it. He scoops a spoon full of it and partake it. The satisfying taste of his favourite meal made him smile ever more.
"Thanks Alfred." He said softly.
Metropolis, Jon's Apartment
7:57p.m.
Lois pushes the door open of her house with her feet. She walks in holding heavy bags of groceries. She kicks the door close and walks towards the kitchen counter, placing the bags over it.
"Jon dear, I'm home." She calls out to her son.
She began unpacking the groceries from the recycling bags and started placing them in their proper places as she waits for her son to show up.
After keeping away all the groceries in their proper places, only then she realised that her son hasn't responded to her call.
"Jon?" She walks towards his room.
She gave a few knocks on the door just before opening it slowly. She sticks her head in and then opens it fully, noticing that Jon wasn't in there.
"Where is he?" She wondered.
Lois's motherly concern started kicking in. She heads back to the kitchen counter and grab her phone, dialing her sons number. She presses the phone against her ear and waits.
Jon picks up after a few rings.
"Hello?" Jon said.
"Honey, where are you?" She ask. "Are you okay?"
"Yes mom, I'm fine." He said. "I'm with the Titans at their tower."
"Oh... what are you doing there?" She ask.
"I came here since school ended to discuss some... matters with the Titans." He said, trying to make his lie sound not so obvious. "I'm sorry for not informing you sooner ma. Don't worry, I'll be leaving soon."
"Oh honey it's okay." She said, sounding relief. "I just wanted to make sure you're alright."
"I'm alright ma." Jon insisted.
"Alright. Are you having dinner?" She ask. "I'm making pizza." She said in a humourous persuasive tone.
"Yes ma!" He said happily. "Don't forget to make your famous cola float as well!"
"Requesting now are we?" She chuckles. "Sure, why not."
"Thanks, ma!" He said. "See you in a while."
"Alright, bye." Lois hits the end call button and places her phone on the kitchen counter.
"Looks like it's mother son dinner session today since the father is busy with League business." She said happily as she starts walking towards her room to change her office clothes into house clothing before she starts cooking.
Titans Tower
8:31p.m.
The Titans except for Raven are enjoying some quality bonding time with each other by watching a movie and consuming loads of popcorn and junk food.
Gar, Jaime and Bart are lounging on the couch while laughing at the comedy playing on the tv. The Tamaranian Princess is floating cross legs next to the boys while enjoying sliced pickles dipped with mustard.
The daughter of Trigon and the son of Superman however, was still in the medical room, having a conversation.
"See you in a while." Jon says before hitting the end call button.
"Pizza and cola float for dinner huh..." Raven tease the Kryptonian.
"Yeah... I'm kinda starving actually." He said shyly. "I actually planned on staying here for the night... but then I remembered that my dad will be helping out the League to clean up the destructive side of the city that the tsunami struck."
"Which means, mom will be home alone." He said. "So, I don't think I can sleep well knowing that she's alone at home so... I'll just head back."
"Yes, that would be best." Raven said. "Don't worry, there's always another time for a sleepover here."
"I hope so." He smile.
"Thank Jaime for lending me his clothes." Jon said, looking at his t-shirt. "I wouldn't want mom to worry when she sees my uniform all torn and dirty."
"Will do." Raven said. "Don't worry, Ill fix up your uniform and send it over before Monday."
"Thanks a lot, Raven."
Raven rose up from her seat and walks towards Jon.
Jon too stood on his feet and stretch. Before he knew it, Raven's arms were around him. Jon froze.
"Go home and get some rest." She said. "And try not to think much about Damian's safety. I'm sure he's alright."
Only then, Jon returns the hug.
"I'll try." He said. "Thanks for everything today... the hospitality, the conversation... all."
"No problem." She release the hug back away a few steps. "If you need anything, I'm always here."
"Fly safely." She messes the Kryptonian's hair in a friendly way.
"Thanks." Jon laughs. "I'll see you guys soon." Jon picks his backpack and flies out of an open window, heading back home.
Raven watches as he disappears into the clouds. When he was fully out of sight, she closes the window and made her way towards the living room to join her fellow Titans in their bonding time.
