There was an actual intruder.
He had sharp crimson eyes, and messy, dark hair. His skin was pale as the snow, and had sharp fangs. He wore tattered clothes that were stained with dried blood. He paused as he saw me. He seemed to be looking for something; maybe trying to relieve his thirst with blood.
I thought vampires were mere myths, but I'm seeing an actual one with my oceanic eyes.
"Are you a vampire?" I asked. I don't know why I asked that, I mean, it's obvious; isn't it? I mentally slapped myself.
"Yes." He replied in a flat tone, as he stared at me.
"Why are you here?" I asked. God, I wish I didn't ask such questions.
"I need blood. It's my staple drink after all." He replied. I'm still surprised he's answering my questions flatly, and hadn't attack me yet. I don't know what to feel now, should I feel fear?
He ran towards me in a brisk speed. Before I could blink my eyes, I already found him on top of me, and I was on the ground. What the hell?
I cringed. I hated it when guys are on top of me. I just felt like smashing their faces to the wall, so their heads would bleed.
"And you'll be my victim." He cooed.
I felt my heart throb quickly. Fear crippled me. I opened my mouth to let out a scream, but he instantly knew what I was about to do; thus, he slammed his cold hand onto my lips.
"Shut up. If you scream, I'll kill you." He threatened as he removed his hand from my lips.
"Get off me." I said in a monotonous tone.
"I need your blood. I'm craving for it. I haven't even had blood for 3 days! All because of those goddamn vampire hunters." He said.
And I didn't know there were such a thing as vampire hunters. Oh well.
He leaned towards my shoulder. He tugged the collar of my shirt, to get a glimpse of my bare shoulder. I could feel his intense breathing, and just as he was about to seep his fangs into my skin, I slapped him.
I broke free from his grip, and I stood up. I dusted my clothes, and covered my shoulder.
"Instead of you killing me, I'll kill you." I said in a sharp tone.
He looked up at me, and got up. He smirked, and mocked me,
"What can a little human like you do?"
I gave a sly grin.
My hands begin to boil. Soon enough, black flames begin to appear from my hands.
He looked at me with terror. Now, fear has crippled him instead. I smirked even wider.
"I thought you called me a little girl a moment ago?" I chuckled.
"Black..magic..?" He stuttered.
"Indeed. Pretty, isn't it?" I asked.
"Are you..with..the black wizard?" He trembled.
"Maybe, or maybe not." I replied.
Just as I was about to let out my tricks, he dashed towards the window, and jumped off.
"Oh well. At least I'll be able to get some food now." I mumbled as I let the flames die out.
I headed towards the vending machine. I pressed a few buttons, and then I collected the food.
I sat on a table, and munched on my food. It was just a sandwich, and a fruit juice.
I then disposed the waste, and I headed back to my dorm room. I locked the door behind me, and I went to brush my teeth. After I was done; I slipped quickly into my bed, and drifted off to sleep.
"Emiko." A soft voice called me.
I turned around, and I saw them. They were all standing together, ready to embrace me into a family hug.
"Mom? Dad? Akikhiko?" I said in shock. I ran towards them, and I was in the verge of tears.
As I got closer, they begin to vanish.
"No..wait..!" I shouted as I tried to run faster. But I was too late, they vanished as I reached.
"No.." I collapsed to my knees, and covered my face in my hands. I begin to sob uncontrollably as everything begin to turn to pure white. I trembled, and I still continued to sob. I'm useless. I couldn't save them at all.
Black roses begin to bloom around me. I took a glimpse of my surroundings. I have never seen such a beautiful creation. Everything was pure white, except the roses blooming around me.
Suddenly, I saw a figure walking towards me. He had the appearance of a young man. He wore a high-collared black and tan robes with gold trim, along with a large, flowing white toga draped around his torso. He had short black hair, dark eyes, and abnormally sharp canines. He also wore a circle-shaped necklace. He had a soft expression on his face. He approached me, and leaned down.
"You know Emiko, one of my favorite quotes is; people cry not because they're weak, but because they have been strong for too long." He said as he placed his hand on my cheek, wiping away my tears.
"And I'll be waiting for your return." He said as he smiled.
I then woke up, due to the voice of Momo.
"Good morning everyone! Get up and be at your best! After your breakfast, attend your classroom which is room #32! Remember, we have a guest today! Trololololol~"
Damn that panda.
I rubbed my drowsy eyes. I got out of bed, and headed to take a shower.
When I was done with everything, I quickly slipped into my uniform, and tied my scarlet hair into a ponytail. I wore my shoes, and I slipped out of the room.
As I was walking to the cafeteria, I recalled the memory about last night. Why was the vampire in our school? Is he some famous, wanted vampire by the vampire hunters?
I also recalled the dream. I cringed. Sometimes, I don't know what should I feel about him appearing in my dreams. Even if he's being kind to me in my vision, it still gives me shivers to my spine. As I reached there, I was the first to arrive again.
Damn these slow people.
Or was it me who's early?
I saw food prepared. I grabbed a tray and headed over to see what food should I eat.
I grabbed a plate of french toast with butter, and a cup of cold water. I then headed towards an empty seat, and settled down. As I begin to munch of my toast, everyone else arrived.
Is it just me, or do they always arrive together?
They probably planned it without me, I guess. Well, why should I care? After all, once this crazy school is over, I'll be a mere memory to them. I would rather be alone instead of being with people who make me feel alone.
"Oh, good morning Emiko!" Chiyoko greeted.
"Morning." I replied in a flat tone.
"What's wrong? You okay?" Neon asked.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." I replied. Stop acting as if you care.
"Did you sleep well? You seemed tired." Atalanta said.
"I don't think she slept well." Electra said before I could reply.
"I'm alright." I replied, as I took a sip of my water.
They all grabbed their tray and got their food. Then, they sat on the same table that I sat on.
They begin to munch on their food, and chat happily. Well, except Electra, she just listened to them.
I didn't bother, why should I? After all, humans are merely the same.
As I was done, I disposed my waste. I went to the vending machine, and ordered a cup of hot coffee.
Coffee is something I can't go without. Soon enough, it was served. I held it carefully, and blew on it slightly to warm it. I took small sips at a time. As I was done, I threw the cup away.
I got out of the cafeteria, leaving others to their chit chat. They didn't seem to notice I left.
I headed towards room #32, which is our classroom. It seemed like a regular classroom, except there were 7 tables. We didn't need 7 tables, we're only 5 right now. Are there any new students?
Momo didn't mention anything about supplying books or stationary too, or is that bear planning something?
I sat in the front seat. I placed my head on the palm of my hand. I sigh as I looked at the chalkboard in front of me. This is truly boring. And who's the surprise guest anyways? I have a feeling it would be a vampire hunter. The vampire last night did mention he was not able to drink blood for 3 days because of the vampire hunters.
My thoughts were interrupted when Momo walked to the classroom. It was surprised I was the first one among everyone to arrive here.
Speaking of everyone, they are so slow.
"Good morning Emiko Scarlet. I see you're early." Momo said as it sat on the chair which was meant for a teacher.
"Morning." I replied in a bored tone.
"You have certainly lived up to your reputation." It chuckled.
"Why are you here? I'm not being rude." I said.
"Oh, I'll be teaching you all." It chuckled again.
"And who's the surprise guest?" I questioned.
"You'll see." It laughed.
I sighed, and waited silently. The atmosphere seemed intense. Neither of us spoke.
After 5 minutes, everyone else came in. They then settled down on the seats they desired.
"Good morning students! I'll be teaching you from today! Oh, and our surprise guest is coming soon." Momo said.
Groans were heard from everyone. Oh well.
Soon enough, a knock was heard on the door. I assume it's the surprise guest.
"Come in~ we've been waiting!" Momo called.
The door opened, and it revealed a guy. He's probably in his mid-twenties. He had green eyes, they were enthralling, like sparkling kaleidoscopes of color. They were celery green, but also ocean blue. Dashes of chestnut brown speckled his irises. And for some reason, they looked like they had seen a lifetime, when in reality they had only seen a fraction. His hair, dark and lustrous, could almost have been mistaken for jet black. He had pale pink skin. He wore a black coat over a black shirt and jeans.
"He's hot." Atalanta whispered to Neon. Neon nodded in agreement.
"Good morning students. My name is Adam, and I'm a first rank VH; also known as a vampire hunter. I'm having an investigation in this school, so please carry on doing what you were doing." He said in a flat, and monotonous voice. He didn't bother to get to know us, he eyed us in a bored manner, and took an empty chair and sat at the back. He had a notebook in which he jotted down some things.
Perhaps, he was looking for the vampire that I had encountered with last night? Should I inform him later?
"Okay students, open your drawers and you'll find your math books. Please take them out and open page 2. I'll be explaining to you the topic, so please listen carefully." Momo said in a serious tone.
When did Momo get serious about this?
After an hour, that guy named Adam said he'll be investigating other places in the school. So he left.
After 2 more hours of having 2 more subjects, we were finally dismissed for recess. I have to say, I'm quite impressed with Momo.
"Guys, why don't we have lunch outside? The weather seems nice today." Atalanta suggested.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"What about you Emiko?" Electric asked, eyeing me carefully.
"No thanks. I'll head to the cafeteria, so you all can head outside without me" I replied.
"Alright then." Neon said.
They all headed outside while I headed towards the cafeteria.
As I entered the cafeteria, I found Adam sitting on a table, thinking silently and jotting down things in his notebook. He looked up and noticed me.
"Ah, I'm sorry. Is it your recess already? I'll head somewhere else, if all of your friends are coming here too." He apologised.
"It's alright. They're not coming here. They headed outside in the grass area." I replied as I headed towards the vending machine.
"Why didn't you go with them?" He questioned curiously.
"Didn't bother to." I replied flatly.
He chuckled a bit.
"What's funny?" I asked, and I turned my head towards him.
"You remind me of someone I know." He smiled, and there was sadness in his eyes.
"Oh." Was all all could say.
"Want some coffee?" I asked.
"That would be nice. Thank you." He replied.
I clicked in some coins. Soon enough, two hot, brewing drinks were served. I held them carefully, and headed towards Adam. I passed him the drink which he accepted gratefully.
I sat a down in front of him. I sipped onto my drink carefully, and he sipped his while writing some things in his notebook. As I sipped my drink, I got lost in thoughts. I begin to think of the days that I trained with him.
"Thinking about someone?" Adam asked, interrupting my thoughts.
"Huh?" I looked at him in confusion.
"You look like you're thinking about someone special. Maybe your lover?" He chuckled.
"I don't have a lover." I replied flatly as I felt heat rising up to my cheeks.
"Sure, that's why you're red." He replied sarcastically.
"Tch." I clicked my tongue as I took another sip from my coffee.
"You know, if you really like the person, tell him your feelings. You might regret not telling him, and that will cause a fatal damage to your heart." He said wisely. Why was he telling me this? I didn't think about anyone as a lover.
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked.
"Because I know how it feels to get a fatal damage in your heart." He replied flatly.
"Oh." Was all all could say.
"Would you like to know the reason behind it?" He asked.
"Okay." I replied.
He placed down his cup on the table, and said something which interested me,
"I used to know someone few years ago. She was very beautiful. She had grey hair with few streaks of black. She had dark, interesting eyes; and a pale face. She got me falling for her first. Over time, we got along with each other, but one thing I knew was; I could never tell her my feelings."
"Why not?" I asked.
"Because, my cousin, who knew her before I did; was in love with her too. She didn't know this. One day, he sacrificed his life for her to prevent a dagger into seeping to her heart. After 3 years, she was brought to the VH place by our commander, and she was assigned to be a squad member with me as the leader. Over time, many shitty things happened. My psychotic brother kidnapped her, and wanted to kill her. He sent someone to kidnap me later, and used me as a weakness. He was about to shoot us both, since I wouldn't get out of the way of defending her. As he pulled the trigger, she pushed me, and let the bullet seep into her instead. Her last words were saying that I deserved to live. That's when I lost her, she was gone." He said while trembling a bit.
"I wish I could say that I'm sorry for your loss. But I can't, because I won't be able to revive her again, right? But it's truly sad when somebody dies, at least their suffering will end. After all, this a chaotic world. Humans commit the same mistakes over and over again. I suppose it's best for her that she died peacefully. Speaking of which, I don't think she would have sacrificed her life without a reason. She must had feelings towards you, and she did mentioned you deserve to live, didn't she? So do that; live. You're strong enough to face life obstacles. Someday, you'll see her again." I said, while taking another sip of my coffee.
"You're right. I'll live until I get to see her." He said, smiling.
"Alright students! Your recess is over! Back to--" Momo was interrupted by a deafening scream.
I widened my eyes and immediately stood up. Adam stood up, and placed his notebook in his pocket. He then slipped out a gun.
"We need to be quick." He said in a monotonous tone.
I didn't have time to reply. I simply ran.
Dammit it all.
