"Did you miss me, Emiko?" He asked, as the wind blew his hair. His dark eyes stared into mine, awaiting for my answer.
"Not really..?" I lied.
He began to approach me. As he did, I backed away few steps, but I knew there was no point in doing that; because I would still face him.
"You're still awfully bad in lying. The truth is written on your face." He said, as his lips curved into a small smile.
"I didn't know that. That's an amazing fact that you provided." I said sarcastically.
"I've decided something." He said as his lips curved into a frown.
"What is it?" I asked. It sounds like a matter between life and death. Okay, it could be a matter between life and death.
"I've decided my place of death." He said, as he stared at me.
His words just hit me like a truck. He has to be joking, but he doesn't joke over these things.
"This isn't funny. Stop kidding around." I said harshly, as I clutched my fists too tight that my knuckles turned white.
"Emiko. You know I don't joke over these things." He said.
"I know. I was still hoping you were kidding about this. I mean, not everything has to be decided by death; think about the future a little bit, will you?" I said, as I crossed my eyebrows together and frowned.
"The future will always remain the same for me. Over the course of several hundred years, I've seen many ages end, conflict between people, hatred, wicked hearts. I always have hope that the new age will purify all of that. How many times has it happened? People repeat themselves. They commit the same mistakes, over and over...They haven't survived, not in true sense. The precious race called people has become extinct." He said, as knitted his eyebrows together.
"After thinking for many years, I've reached to a conclusion. If the world rejects me, I shall reject the world." He said.
"Are you planning on letting all humans in this world..die?" I asked. I felt like smacking him on the face right now. This is stupid.
"Yes. I will not spare anyone." He said sternly.
"Will you kill me too?" I asked.
He looked at the ground, and bit his lips. I guess he doesn't know if he should or not.
"I suppose so." He said, looking at me.
"You don't have the rights to kill me. You may be the most powerful wizard in history, but that doesn't me you have the rights to kill me. In fact, you don't have the rights to kill anyone. You don't get to decide on people's lifes." I spat.
"You probably hadn't worked up your brain. Maybe that's why you don't understand me." He said in a monotonous tone.
"Oh yeah? Maybe you hadn't worked up your brain. That's no wonder you plan on taking everyone's lifes." I replied.
"Emiko. I would rather take my leave than spending my time in arguing." He said, as he turned to walk away.
The words that flowed from his lips angered me more by the second. My patience was running out and my temper was flaring. Rage boiled through my body. I barely had a chance to think of my actions. The only thought running through my head was getting him to shut up.
I grabbed his wrist. He turned around, raising his eyebrows. I pursed my lips and raised my hand back. I threw my hand forward as hard as I could, whipping it across his face. Vibrations of pain started in my palm and spread all the way to my finger tips. My palm was bright red, the same red mark that matched the one on his face. He stared at me with his eyes wide as his hand slowly made it to his burning cheek.
I'm not guilty for doing this.
"You are not leaving until we settle this." I said, flatly.
"Why did you slap me?" He asked in a harsh tone.
"Plenty of reasons. Want me to list all of them?" I spat.
"Never mind. You're lucky I didn't kill you yet." He said as his irises begin to turn to a shade of red.
Crap. His irises are turning red. He's gonna lose his mind. Should I run? I'm tired of running anyways.
He broke my grip from his wrist. He clutched his hair, and had a pained expression.
"Emiko..run.." He mumbled. "I might..kill..you.."
"No." I said flatly.
"Please.." He pleaded. Black mist begin to form around him.
I then embraced him, and I ran my fingers through his hair to calm him down. Poor kid sometimes needs a hug.
The black mist vanished bit by bit. He rested his head on my shoulder, shaking.
"I..don't want to hurt anyone." He mumbled, as I felt him sob quietly.
"I know." I replied. He may have said on planning on taking everyone's lifes, but deep down; he's not that sure. I rubbed his back in circles, soothing him.
"Why are you still kind to me? I mean, I nearly killed you. I planned on not sparring anyone. What--"
"Shut up. I don't give a crap about that." I interrupted him.
He let out a deep sigh and didn't speak.
"You should know that not everyone rejects you. Did I reject you?" I asked, as I looked at him.
He shook his head.
"See? I knew you were the famous black wizard, yet I still accepted you. I'm pretty sure that there are people that won't reject you. People who reject you are very stupid, for they don't know you well at all." I said.
"But people who accept me are merely worshippers." He said, as he sighed.
"Well, it's nice having admirers." I replied.
"I think those worshippers are stupid." He said, as he shook his head.
"You know, I don't think you should accept your death so easily." I said.
"What do you mean? I'm always prepared." He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Death is something not great. It's dark, depressing, and everything around you is all black. If you look at it, you'll realise that..you're all alone." I trailed off.
He then looked at the ground, and thought for a moment.
"I supposed so, but didn't I tell you before? It's better off being dead instead of being alive in this destructive world." He said.
"I know, but I guess..death has both good and bad? I probably don't make sense right now." I said.
"No, I understood you perfectly." He replied.
I felt few drops drip on my face. I looked at the sky, and found dark, stormy clouds hovering over.
It seemed to me that the raindrops on the dry verandah crackle like an old radio coming to life. They started to hit hard, no brakes, no slowing for the impact of the ground.
He stood up, and didn't flinch about the rain. I got up too, and inhaled the smell of the fresh raindrops.
"You must get going. You'll catch a cold if you don't get back." He said quietly.
"I could say the same to you." I replied.
"I'll be alright. After all, I'm immortal." He chuckled sadly.
"Okay, but please think carefully about what I said, alright? After all, The only thing we're allowed to do is to believe that we won't regret the choice we made." I said, as I felt my scarlet hair soaked with water. Drips of rain drizzled my face, but I looked at him; awaiting for his answer.
He sighed, and frowned for a while.
"I'll think about that." He said, flatly.
He then turned his frown to a small smile and begin to walk away. He stopped mid way, and turned around.
"Take care. Do not end up in the grave." He said.
I pulled a strand of my hair behind my ear. I smiled.
"You too." I replied.
He smiled, then continuing his journey.
I stood there, in a puddle of water. I watched him disappear. Do not end up in the grave, eh? I half smiled, and shook my head.
I turned around. I stared at my family's tombstones. I took a deep sigh, and begin to walk away.
I looked around me, where were the others? Did they leave already? Seriously? I took a walk around the cemetery, and did not find them. I'm pretty sure that they weren't kidnapped, I mean, Atalanta is good at combat, Electra has electric magic, and Chiyoko has elemental magic.
Screw it, I'm heading back. I have a strong feeling that they left.
The rain got even worse. It rained even heavier. Can this get any worse? I felt really cold too, and my hands were clammy and cold.
I begin to run. I ran out of the cemetery to get back quick. I don't want to be executed. I'm too young to be executed.
Being the 16 year old idiot, I forgot that the ground would be wet and slippery. I supposed that you could guess what happened.
Yes, I freaking slipped.
It felt like some sort of shock, for it happened so quick. I fell on my back too. Ouch. I got up immediately. I don't have time to be chilling on the ground.
Dammit, why didn't the others inform me that they were leaving?
As I wanted to run again, I felt a sharp, piercing pain. I had twisted my ankle. Such luck I have.
I whimpered silently as I walked slowly. There's no one around to help me. People must be having a nice cup of coffee at home or something.
And I'm here on my own.
I hate life sometimes. Life probably hates me too.
I cursed under my breath. Can there be someone around who can help me? I won't make it like this.
Dammit. It's getting even colder.
I felt kind of nauseous. Before I knew it, my vision turned blurry; and all I remembered was complete blackness.
