So in the last chapter, Ghetsis summoned Kyurem in Giant Chasm and tried to Glaciate our heroes, N tried to reason with his evil father (Ghetsis), Kyurem fused with Reshiram, Touya kissed Cassie, who regained her memory, and Travis got hit full force and frozen by an Ice Burn attack. Now that you're all caught up, on to the story!

Touya's POV

Tears streamed through my eyes as my sadness turned into rage. Rage aimed at Ghetsis. I felt Teravolt strengthening me. The blue energy surrounded Cassie and Tessa also. Turboblaze surrounded Nate and Rosa.

"You thought that you can defeat us by making us suffer." I wiped off my tears. "You thought that you can win only by destroying. Well, news flash, you're wrong! People and Pokémon strengthen each other! They become family! And you want to take that away from them! It's not the strength of the Pokémon that wins a battle! It's the heart poured into a battle! I will never forgive you for what you've done!"

"You insolent little nothing! You don't know the first thing about Pokémon! They are merely tools to use to fight!"

"You're wrong, Ghetsis!" I shot back. "People and Pokémon are both living creatures! We all have emotions! We all laugh, and cry, and love!"

"You never understood that, and you never will!" Tessa aimed her Styler at Kyurem. Everyone else did the same, except for me.

"Capture on!"

Four Discs, two in flames, two charged with lightning. They flew around Kyurem, slashing at it.

"The DNA Splicers are weakening?Impossible!"

"It's not impossible, Ghetsis. You share no bond with Kyurem, and that's the true downfall of an abusive Trainer like you!" I aimed my Styler and charged. "And that is why we will defeat you for the third time!" I fired the Disc, and it shot at Kyurem at lightning speed.

Then, it struck.

It roared in pain as the DNA Splicers were knocked out of it, and an explosion filled the cave. When we opened our eyes, we were in a gray void and saw Kyurem in its normal form looking at us.

"Thank you," it growled calmly.

We saw N looking rather startled, Reshiram looking at us, and Ghetsis completely in rage.

"Impossible. The White Kyurem I've worked all this time for destroyed by a group of brats?!" He slammed his cane once again on the floor. "I will not be humiliated like this! I will see to it personally that you never get in my way again!" He threw six Poké Balls into the air, and the true battle began.

Bisharp, Hydreigon, Cofagrigus, Eelectross, Drapion, and Toxicroak appeared out of the lights. Pathor, Shade, Genesect, Rio, Scorch, and Mewtwo joined us.

"As for you, Touya," he turned to me. "I have a... special punishment for you for thwarting my plans for the third and last time. Zoroark! Destroy him." A Zoroark shuffled out of the darkness and glared at me through its now crimson eyes. A scar went across his right eye. I backed into an icy wall.

"But how? Mirage?!" I paled at the sight of my old friend controlled by Ghetsis. "What did you do to him?!" I yelled at him.

"In order to destroy someone, start with the inside. Specifically, the heart," he responded. Mirage's eyes returned to their normal blue.

"Touya."

"Mirage? Mirage, is that really you?" I walked up to him.

"No." His eyes became red again, and he uppercutted me, knocking the air out of me.

"Touya!" Cassie cried.

"You'll pay for that!" Scorch yelled. Pathor pulled him back.

"My vengeance is with Touya, so stay out of the way!" Ghetsis snarled.

Mirage jumped up and used Double Team, barraging me with multiple Shadow Claws. Then, the real one kicked me, and I fell into Travis' ice prison. It shattered, and I fell next to Travis. I felt many cuts on my chest, and a broken arm from breaking the fall. I had lost a lot of blood, and I was struggling to breathe, let alone stand. Ghetsis, seeing me struggle, laughed.

"Yes! Kneel before the lord of Team Plasma! Now cry! Cry and beg for mercy!"

"T-the only tears I have in my eyes are from all the dust. And your terrible breath. Capture on!" Nothing happened. My Styler was trashed by the impact.

"Nothing can save you, boy," he snarled as he kicked my already wounded stomach. I grimaced at the pain.

Suddenly, a cold vortex cloaked my entire arm. When it vanished, it had formed a vambrace shaped like Kyurem. Its head was at my wrist, and the tailpiece was at my elbow. The wings were folded, and the Disc slot was under the head.

"Impossible!"

I got up and tackled Mirage, who snapped at me. I rolled and ran onto a platform of ice. I watched as he bounded up the pillars to catch mine, and used Dark Pulse. I dodged by jumping to a nearby pillar, but he followed.

"Any last words?" he growled.

"Yes, actually. Two." I aimed at him. "Capture on!" The head rose up, the wings spread out, and the Disc was fired. He snarled and tackled me, causing both of us to fall. The ring surrounded us and closed in. Mirage's eyes became blue again and widened. He turned so he was to take the impact. "Pathor! Use Psychic! Mirage, hold on!" Pathor helped me down as Mirage held on. We both landed safely.

"No. No! NO!" Ghetsis yelled. "This wasn't supposed to happen! Destroy him now!"

"Are you okay, my friend?" N asked. Mirage nodded as he put a cast on my arm.

"Come on, Ghetsis," I said. "Face us like a real Trainer."

"Fine," he growled, calling up his Cofagrigus, Eelectross, and Drapion. "A Triple Battle. To the end."

"All right." Scorch, Lux, and Genesect came to our side.

"Wait," N said. "Reshiram and Mewtwo want to fight. I don't like the sight, but we have no choice."

"All right," I agreed. Lux and Genesect switched places with Reshiram and Mewtwo. "Pathor, Rio, and Shade are on the other team."

"How about me, Pathor, and Mirage?" Scorch suggested. "Genesect, Mewtwo, and Reshiram can be on the first team."

"Sounds good!" Mirage growled.

"Let's get ready for a tough battle," Mewtwo agreed.

An icy battlefield expanded the whole length of the cave. Perfect for a battle. Like before, Cofagrigus, Drapion, and Eelectross faced Reshiram, Genesect, and Mewtwo. The odds were against Ghetsis, but that has nothing to do with Pokémon battles.

"The first attack is mine! Cofagrigus, use Shadow Ball! Eelectross, use Thunderbolt! Drapion, use X-Scissor!"

"Genesect, use Techno Blast against Cofagrigus! Reshiram, use Extrasensory on Eelectross! Mewtwo, use Aura Sphere against Drapion!" Nate, N, and Rosa yelled. The attacks collided, and we won that round.

"Cofagrigus, use Toxic on all of them! Eelectross, use Flamethrower on Drapion's claws! Drapion, X-Scissor!"

"Wait, what?!"

Drapion's X-Scissor was set ablaze and hit Genesect. He flew back, hitting the rocks and fainting. The others were badly poisoned, and N had a worried look on his face.

"Tag us in," Scorch suddenly said.

"But--"

"Let us try to fight," he said. "I may not be as strong as any of these guys, but you can bet I'll have the same amount of spirit." We nodded, and the second team took their positions. Scorch was adjacent to Pathor and Mirage.

"So, the weak Combusken tries to fight me?" Ghetsis laughed. "You are as weak as your master!"

"Wrong! Travis was far more than my master! He was my mentor, my best friend! He was my brother. It takes true strength to know that. And because of that bond, we're stronger than you'll ever be!" A fiery tornado surrounded him, and he started to change form. He was evolving! He became bigger and more humanoid in form, his claws becoming gray-taloned hands at the end of yellow arms. Yellow covered the lower legs and a little patch on his chest, and the rest was red. A v-shaped crest was above his hooked beak, and a mane-like plume and two long ones facing downwards were formed from tan feathers. A Blaziken stood before us.

"How is this possible?!" Ghetsis struck the ground with his cane. "Pokémon and their master as family?! I will not allow this! Pokémon are merely tools for your use in battle! They--"

"No!" I yelled. "Pokémon are living, breathing creatures! You will know this! Pathor, use Psycho Cut! Mirage, Shadow Claw! Scorch, use your new move! Use Blaze Kick!" Everyone attacked, and Cofagrigus, Eelectross, and Drapion fainted.

"I was just testing your strength. Toxicroak, Hydreigon, and Bisharp, show them no mercy!" The mentioned Pokémon went onto the battlefield. Poison Jab, Dragon Rush, and Stone Edge flew our way.

"Counter it, guys!" I called. Pathor used Drain Punch to clash with Poison Jab, Mirage used Dark Illusion Fury, using Double Team to dodge the attack and surrounded Hydreigon, then using Shadow Claw and Dark Pulse to barrage him. Finally, the real one appeared and uppercutted him into his own Rock Slide. Scorch used Mirror Move to copy the Stone Edge attack, then used Blaze Kick, but Bisharp held on. A metallic silver aura focused into his blades, adding to the already dark-colored energy. Scorch dodged the Night Slash, but before he could counter, the aura exploded, and the Metal Burst hurled him into the wall.

"You're good, Bisharp. Now that you're battling me like a real Pokémon, you can show me what you've really got!"

"Come on, Touya," I heard Cassie say. "You can do this."

"No. I'm leaving this to the Pokémon. Scorch is capable of leading."

Scorch's POV

I felt power surging through me as I saw my allies giving it their best. Pathor was using a double super effective Psycho Cut on Toxicroak, who countered with Shadow Ball. Hydreigon was barraged by Shadow Claws, then Mirage slammed him into the wall. He flew back at the Zoroark.

Touya's right, I thought to myself. I am a true warrior. I won't lose! I will avenge Travis! We will gain victory! I charged at Bisharp with all my might, jumping into a Blaze supported Blaze Kick. I hit an X-Scissor, but pushed Bisharp back. Hydreigon saw me and charged with Dragon Rush.

"Oh no you don't!" a voice yelled. I looked to see Jet using Aqua Jet to knock Hydreigon off course. He hit Toxicroak, causing both to faint. "Two birds with one stone!" Jet cheered.

"What the-- Jet, what are you doing?!"

"Simple, Scorch. Mirage tagged me in," Jet replied, crossing his arms. "Now finish this!"

"Thanks, Jet." I grinned as I felt Turboblaze supporting me. Reshiram was with me. I ran to the wall, jumped, kicked off, and became engulfed in a blue energy. I flew into Bisharp, creating a crater in the cave wall. Bisharp fell, exhausted and defeated. He looked up as I extended my hand to help him up. He nodded, took it, and I pulled him up. Bisharp then walked to his allies, and allowed the red beam of the Poké Ball to call him back, as did the others.

"No!" Ghetsis roared with the ferocity of a Gyrados. "How can this happen?! How could I have been foiled by children three times?! This is unacceptable!"

Touya's POV

"It's hard for me to call you this, but Father, please understand," N spoke up. "Pokémon, like my friends said, are living beings. They fight for us, and grow with us! People learn from Pokémon, and Pokémon grow much stronger with people than on their own in the wild! They support each other and together can create their own truth or ideals! Touya, Nate, Rosa, and all their friends taught me that! Especially one other Trainer from two years ago." N blushed as he said it. He must mean Touko! I thought.

"No. Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!" Ghetsis exploded. "No normal human can talk to Pokémon! So stop talking like one! You are just a freak who will never understand!" Suddenly, Shadow appeared next to Ghetsis.

"Lord Ghetsis has lost control. I should get him back. This will be the last time you see me or any of my brothers. Farewell." With that, he and Ghetsis vanished, leaving the DNA Splicers with us. Tessa turned to see Travis, ran up to him, and put two fingers on his neck.

"No pulse," she breathed.

"He's gone," Cassie sighed. I punched the wall with my left arm.

"No. Not yet." Tessa got up. "Maybe by combining the power of the Legendary Pokémon, we can save him."

"What do you mean, Tessa?" I asked.

"Cassie, fire the Black Disc and focus on Zekrom's aura within it. N, have Reshiram use Fusion Flare and merge it with the Black Disc's power. Touya, summon Kyurem and ask him to use Glaciate to block most of the power."

"Are you nuts?!" Cassie objected. "One wrong move, we lose him for good! You know that!"

"It will work," was the answer. We all nodded. The wings raised on my Styler, and the tail extended. A cold vortex manifested in front of us, and Kyurem stood in front of us.

"I see you uncovered one of its secrets, Touya," he said. "I owe a debt of gratitude to you for setting me free. Consider this my repayment." He summoned icicles that hovered above Travis and spun rapidly. Cassie fired the Black Disc and closed her eyes. An image of Zekrom appeared as a blue sphere appeared around the Disk. Reshiram's Fusion Flare merged with it in the center of the spiraling icicles, turning four a burning red, the other four a shimmering electric blue.

"There's just one more step," Tessa called to us. "I must fire my Disc above Travis' chest to create a lightning rod for the power. I know the risk, but I must for Travis," she continued before we could interject. "For him, I will sacrifice my position as Pokémon Ranger!" She launched her Disc above Travis' chest, and the charged icicles met it. Tessa's Styler sparked, then shattered as a blinding flash filled the cave. The Disc was destroyed, but Travis' eyes opened, and he coughed.

"Tessa? What happened?" Tessa's eyes welled up, and she hugged him, burying her face in his shirt, sobbing into it.

"Nate, Rosa, I want to know. What are you striving for? What truths and ideals do you stand for? Go to the Pokémon League, and show the world. But if you can, meet me at Victory Road. My friend will guide you there." Both nodded. "And Touya?" He turned to me. "To you and your team, thank you for everything. And if you get the chance, tell my dear Touko that I love her." He and Reshiram walked outside, then took off, human on Pokémon. To think at one time he was against that.

"So, what's next for you and Rosa?" I asked.

"We're gonna meet with N, then go to the Pokémon League."

"I'm just gonna go back to Nuvema Town and spend some quality time with my Pokémon."

Once we said our goodbyes, I thought it was over in Unova. But I was wrong.

Kai's POV

"Come on, Ghetsis. Team Plasma is done." He just smirked. His Cofagrigus came out of its Poké Ball and used Toxic and Shadow Ball on me. Bisharp then came out and cut off the hand cuffs. I pretended to be weakened.

"Out of my way, traitor. I have something to discuss with my son."

Luckily, I am immune to poison because of treating Scolipede when I first met him.

"Come on, buddy," I called to him. "We need to call Touya."
