~~Max's PoV (SURPRISE)~~

I felt someone's thumb continuously rubbing the back of my hand. A woman was speaking rather loudly, it hurt my head. Who was talking?

"My baby, my baby!" She kept pleading out. Is there someone else in the room? I think Steven said her name was Mary. Who's that? The hand rubbing stopped slowly and the grip on my hand loosened. I couldn't quite get my eyes to open, or get any noise.

"She moved!" Ren called loudly, that hurt my head too.

"Quiet down." Mac sighed. I was able to scrunch my nose and move my fingers a bit. I managed to get my eyes open too, man my chest hurt. Mary, I think, squeaked out and hugged my face to her chest, which made me super tense and caused the pain to worsen. She dropped me and I landed with a thud. The monitor seemed to speed slightly. 

I glanced around the room, Dan was missing, but Steve was here. Did Dan get hurt?! He had the most relieved look on his face. Alyc, Ren, Mac, Rich, Henry, AJ was here too. Alyc looked asleep, Rich waved slightly to me. I don't think he could move much, considering Alyc was leaning on him. Ren smirked at me when I caught her eyesight.

"Sup punk?" She grinned. My eyes trailed along the line. Mac smiled reassuringly at me when my eyes passed him. Henry was asleep, leaning back in his chair, and AJ was asleep, leaning forward against the handle of my hospital bed. He was the one who had my hand. My eyes fell on the woman again. She seemed recognizable, but the memory was very distant. Was she a foster parent I've had before? I don't think so... I looked at Steve. He walked over, nudging the woman away as he did so. He leaned over my head. I stared up at him.

"Is everyone okay?" I mumbled out. He frowned at me and nodded. I gave him a small smile and relaxed more. The woman shoved Steve away again and stared at me.

"Do you remember your mommy sweetheart?!" She yelled out. I winced and pulled my head away. My mother? What is she talking about?

"Get out of her face, lady." Ren snapped, I looked at her with curiosity. She sighed and shook her head. The woman scoffed and glared at Ren. I glared at her harshly and she instantly stopped. The door opened, a doctor walked in. I tried to read his tag, "Dr. Genie" it said. He seemed surprised to see me.

"You're awake?" He asked with a smile. I gave him a small one in return. He scribbled something down on whatever he was writing on. "Why are there so many people in here?" He blinked as he looked around. "A few of you should go home." He insisted. Mac sighed quietly. Ren looked at me with a questioning stare as if to say, "do you want me to stay?" I nodded slightly.

"I'm staying," Ren announced and leaned back in her seat. The doctor sighed quietly.

"I'll get Alyc home." Rich chuckled out. "We'll make sure to visit soon." He promised. I nodded slightly.

"I'll go too," Mac agreed. "I don't want to crowd you." He said calmly. He stood, Rich woke up Alyc who instantly started asking me if I was okay. I smiled sideways at her. AJ jolted awake, he looked pretty freaked out. He looked around the room quickly and confusedly. He sighed and dropped his head. I nudged his hand, he looked up in surprise.

"You're awake!" He beamed. I winced and nodded. His cheeks tinted pink quickly and his hand fumbled away from mine. I smiled sideways at him too.

"We'll see you soon, Max." Mac waved.

"I'll be right back." Steve assured me. He was taking them home.

"They're leaving?" AJ asked, looking over curiously.

"Kinda looks like it," Ren replied sarcastically. "But I wouldn't know." She shrugged in a frustrated motion and gave AJ an annoyed look, his arms crossed and he returned the look. I chuckled at both of them, but that hurt too.

"You should try not to move your chest too much, it could open the stitches again and cause you more pain." Dr. Genie told me. I looked at him and nodded slightly. Why hadn't "Mary" left? She was just staring at me. The heart rate monitor started to speed again. Dr. Genie glanced at "Mary". He frowned at me. "Ma'am, I'm gong to need you to leave." He explained to her calmly. She snarled.

"I'm not leaving my daughter here!" She yelled out.

"Ma'am, now, or I will call security." Dr. Genie ordered. She snarled and stormed out. Dr. Genie faced me after and smile reassuringly. I gave him a worried smile back. "Are you hungry, Max?" He asked and went to messing with some other things. My head shook. He nodded slightly. "I didn't think so. Well, if you need anything, just press the nurse button. I'll be back to check you in a bit." He assured. I nodded and he left.

"So, AJ." Ren spoke out after a few minutes of awkward silence.

"What?" AJ huffed.

"What was with the whole, hand holding thing?" Ren teased, she smirked. I looked at AJ expectantly. His cheeks inflamed. I guess his sister, Jazmin I think, wasn't kidding.

"Shut up, Ren." He grumbled. Ren snickered.

THUD! Henry shot up from the ground, "I'm up, I'm up!" He yelled and looked around. He had fallen out of his chair. Ren and AJ were laughing loudly at him. I giggled quietly. His cheeks reddened from embarrassment. "S-so you're awake?" He chuckled awkwardly. I gave him a small nod. He nodded back. "Don't tell anyone about that!" He warned AJ and Ren when he glanced back. They were both still dying. He sighed and shook head slightly. I smirked slightly. "Where's everyone else?" Henry asked, looking around.

"They went home," Ren answered when she finally calmed down. 

"Oh." Henry  nodded in understanding. AJ nodded back. He sat down once more and my night went on from there.

Well, that was a crappy birthday party.
