Chapter 6b.

~~Extreme time skipporu cuz I finally got a freaking idea~~

AJ was seated beside Max's hospital bed. She laid there silently, her eyes were closed. His hand was clung to her's because he was freaking out. "C'mon, Max, please wake up." He mumbled out weakly, trying to keep himself better was getting harder and harder. His head bowed as he thought. Henry and Ren had both gone to the bathroom, Mac, Alyc, and Rich went to get food, Dan was called back to work, and Steve went home to get some crap. "Please?" He muttered, he was going insane in here. His grip tightened as keeping himself together was getting harder.

~~AJ's PoV Flashback~~

"Come on guys! You're being so slow!" Max joked, she was impatiently running up to the closed gates that entered the bunkers.

"Max, slow down!" Ren whined as she followed, she was being lazy. We were waiting for her, actually.

"Are you, Dan?" A white, tall, black-haired, adult asked as he walked over. Dan, Max's dad, turned to face him.

"Yes?" He replied hesitantly. Te man pulled out a gun, no joke. Everything seemed to be moving slower and slower. Max yelled out something that got the guy's attention. She started running forward, the gun went off and the next thing I knew she was on the ground, bleeding out. The man ran off, the area was in a panic and Max was bleeding out. I winced at the thought. There was a lot of screaming and running. When everything finally shot back to reality, I was sprinting over to Max. Dan had called the police, Steve was putting pressure on the wound, and Max was bleeding out, as I said before. She seemed fairly calm, though.

~~Now back to reality. 3rd person PoV*~~

AJ's eyes watered, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't stay together. He sniffled then one water droplet, another,  and another. Until it was uncontrollable and he was in tears quietly. The door opened, causing him to try and calm. His eyes traced up slowly. A woman was standing at the door, she looked familiar.

"My baby!" She yelled out, disrupting everyone, causing most likely the entire floor to stare at him. A nurse was trying to get her calm and away. "Max," she whined. She forced her way into the room and besides the bed. AJ started at her blankly, his memory clicked. That's why he recognized her, she was a model of some sort. He couldn't remember her name, though. He earned a glare, causing him to flinch. "Why are you holding my daughter's hand?!" She spat. AJ was taken aback. The other teens entered the room with slight hesitation.

"Who the hell are you?" Ren growled as she walked in. The woman snarled at her in disgust.

"Who the hell are you?" The woman replied. Ren sat beside AJ roughly. Her arms were crossed and she was pissed. 

"I would like to know who you are." Steve shot back as he walked in. He placed the bag he had on a chair. "I'd also like to know why you're so close to my daughter." 

"Your daughter?!" The woman scoffed, "I gave birth to her!" 

"So you're Mary?" He growled. "You mean that you ditched her?" He hissed. Mary gasped dramatically. AJ's eyes flickered between the scene and the pailling, Max.

"Excuse me?!" She growled. Steve and Mary were at each other's throats.

"Fighting isn't going to help anything!" Mac hissed at them. His head was in his hand as he thought. The adults stopped instantly. AJ's thumb grazed the back of Max's.

"Pull through Max..." Henry muttered weakly, he was getting anxious now. The room was pretty quiet for awhile, except for the off beeps from the machine.

The beeps were gradually slowing, which brought nurses and doctors in regularly. AJ could feel Max's grip loosening. Dan returned with Matt at one point because of this. When he did, the beeps seemed to return to normal temporarily, then once again slowed.

"That's not good." The doctor, Dr. Genie, mumbled to himself. They could hear him, though, so that wasn't reassuring.

"Will she be okay?" Dan pleaded worriedly.

"There's no way to tell at this point." Dr. Genie muttered back. "She seems pretty popular, though." The doctor joked. He earned annoyed glances. "Okkayyy..." He mumbled back, turned, and left. When he did this Max... Max flat lined. This was followed by warning beeps, the world slowing, but moving in a fast motion, and a lot of moving around. The large group was kicked out to the waiting room. Ren was fighting the fact the entire time. Everyone was in some pretty serious tears.

After this, the panicked beeping stopped. The medical professionals exited quietly, returned the equipment, and to their posts. Dr. Genie pulled Max's parents to the side. Mary ran into Max's room in tears, Dan followed, a broken look was placed on his face, Steve glanced back at the group. His head slowly shook at the teens. With this, the waiting room's feeling changed quickly. Alyc gasped out in horror and hid her face into Rich's chest. He weakly hugged her head, bowing his. He was trying not to cry. Ren took off running, straight to Max's room to see her. Henry followed quickly. Mac silently reacted, he always tried how he felt, it was really bad right now, though. It took a bit for AJ to process this, but when he did he ran out too, right out of the hospital that is. He didn't even say "goodbye."
