Suddenly someone knocked at her door, she bounded to the door thinking it was Severus. Lily couldn't have been more wrong; to her surprise James Potter was standing at the door holding a bouquet of lillies. "Umm..hi these are for you." James said nervously handing her the bouquet. "Thanks but I'm expecting someone."she implied trying not to be rude. Lily began to panic as he took a step towards her. "I came to say that...I-I....love you.."James said looking into her green eyes. Before she could respond a velvety voice spoke from behind James. "Oh please don't let me spoil this heartwarming moment." "Sev!"Lily exclaimed relieved. Sadly her relief was short lived." Don't Sev me. Evans."Severus spat. Before she could explain he apparated away.
" Wait!"Lily yelled but it was too late. Severus was gone. "Lily I-"James began but Lily cut him off her eyes glistening. "James I don't want to hear just please leave."she whispered angrily. James left and Lily apparated to Severus's house. Lily knocked on the door to be greeted by a furious Severus. "Sev please let me expla-"she began pleadingly. "I don't want to hear it I should've known not to come between you and your true love,Evans."he said meaning every ounce of hurt that came with it. Lily's eyes suddenly flashed with rage."How dare you!"she said her voice rising. "Here you go again you and your stupid pride getting the better of you! Can't you see that I don't love James!!"she yelled seething. "Well who do you love then cause I honestly don't think I can stand to see you flirting with anymore suitors!"Severus retorted. "YOU!! I LOVE YOU, YOU IGNORANT GIT!"she yelled hot tears falling down her face.
Severus's dark eyes widened with pure shock astonishment. "You what?"he said in disbelief. "I love you Sev. I have ever since you had tea at my house."she admitted looking away from him. Severus's heart swelled with love and sorrow. She loves me? Me? Severus was interrupted from his thoughts when Lily spoke again but this time much softer."But apparently you don't trust me nor do you care about me."she whispered apparating away leaving Severus in shocked and sad silence.
