About an hour after that Severus apparated back to his flat with his head buzzing with thoughts of Lily. After taking a shower for about the first time that week he changed into a gray flannel and black boxers. Laying down on his black bed he finally gave into his thoughts. I had tea with Lily Evans...she hugged me...I love her..but does she love me? he shook his head and rolled onto his side. What would she want with a greasy jerk like me? Half smiling half frowning he fell asleep unaware that a certain red haired woman was having the same thoughts about him.
The next morning Severus found himself about to apparate to Lily's house but he stopped himself. She's probably forgotten about me. But he would know he was wrong come late afternoon.
It was one o'clock in the afternoon and Severus was reading a potions book when he heard a knock on his door. Thoroughly confused he opened the door and was surprised to see Lily standing there smiling at him. He loved that smile it lit up his whole world.
"Good afternoon Sev!"she exclaimed giving him a hug and walking into his home. "What? You didn't think I'd abandon my best friend did you?" she asked one of her eyebrows raised. The ends of Severus's mouth twitched up. "There's that smile!"she gushed embracing him in another hug. "What if I may ask is the purpose of this visit besides hugging the life out of me."he asked causing Lily to throw back her head and laugh. Oh how that laugh enthused him he would do anything to mans her laugh again.
"I thought we could have some lunch and then you know talk and catch up."she said. Severus of course agreed wanting to spend every second with her. But all good things must come to an end because soon the sun was setting and Severus was reluctantly walking Lily to the door. Lily was walking out the doorway when she tripped but she felt long strong arms wrap around her waist and turn her over. Time seemed to stand still as they were staring into each other's eyes. Severus couldn't help but glance down at Lily's soft pink lips, to his surprise she glanced down at his full pale ones. They leaned closer until their faces were inches from each other; Severus shuddered when her hot breath hit his face.
Suddenly realizing what they were about to do they pulled apart. Lily cleared her throat."I guess I should be going."she said turning around. "Wait."Severus said surprising even himself. "Yeah Sev?"she said sounding hopeful. " I would like to see you again."he whispered. Severus's heart soared as he saw her break into a toothy grin. " Why don't you come over for dinner tomorrow evening?" she suggested."That would be wonderful."he said smiling as he watched her apparate away.
