Severus appeared in front of the potions store and strutted in. "Ah Severus my loyal customer!" the owner said waving at him. As usual he ignored him not being the social type. Severus quickly found everything , finally paid, then left.
As he was walking his thoughts quickly turned to that of red hair and small pink lips. Not paying attention to what he was doing he bumped into someone sending them both to the ground. Severus was about to snap at the person when he saw who it was. No...it can't be...Lily...?! But it was her fiery red hair flowing down her shoulders and her green eyes looking down at the ground embarrassed. "Oh god! I'm so sorry! she said helping him stand up. Did she really not regonize me? Oh what does it matter she's with that saint Potter. he thought scowling.
"Wait Sev? Is that you?"she asked her green eyes searching him. Severus's heart skipped a beat at how easily his nickname rolled off her tongue. "Yes it's me." he said suddenly remembering their last unpleasant encounter. As if reading his mind she put her soft hand under his chin and pulled his face to meet hers. " Oh Sev. You don't think I haven't forgiven you do you?" she asked smiling and raising her eyebrow.
"You-You've forgiven me?"he asked shocked. "Of course I have you're my best friend." she exclaimed removing her hand. He regretted her moving her hand. But wait isn't she with Potter? he thought sadly. " You should get going Potter is probably worried."Severus said looking past her." What do you mean"she asked her green eyes widening. Severus raised his eyebrow at her. Suddenly understanding she started to laugh. "Oh you can't be serious Sev! James and I aren't together!"she said still laughing. Relieved he smiled at her but quickly stopped when he felt her hand entertwine with his. "You'll join me for tea won't you?" she asked using her familiar puppy dog eyes on him. Severus chucked,"Of course Lils" he said using his nickname for her.
They quickly apparated to her house. Following behind her he took time to admire her house. It was a brick built one-story house with an oak door and windows with curtains on either side. Dark green hedges lined the front and a flower pot that had beautiful tiger lillies growing out of it sat on the left side of the door.
"Come in."she said holding the door open for him. Nodding his head he walked in and was immediately surprised with what he saw. It looked almost just like the inside of his home except the windows were open and she had flowers almost everywhere. The living room had a red sofa and dark wood tables with lamps on them. She had bookshelves lining the walls and a TV near a doorway that he assumed led to her a bedroom.
"You don't have to be so formal around me ya know. I am your best friend." she said handing him a cup of tea. Severus sighed. "I think we should talk about what happened last time we saw each other before we continue." he saw her face fall. Severus hated to see her sad no matter what he would make sure she smiled again. " Alright but you do know I've forgiven you right?"she asked looking at him." On that day when I said you know what I-I instantly regretted it. I was just stupid and mad a-"he was cut off when she walked over to him and put her hand in his lips. Severus supressed the urge to kiss her hand. "Sev,seriously stop I've forgiven you I want for us to be friends again. Unfortunately I can't do that until you've forgiven yourself."she whispered removing her hand.
"I'm sorry but I don't know if I can."he stuttered staring into the green eyes that he loved so much. Lily smiled sadly and hugged him; she felt him tense up then he snaked his arms around her."That's alright I still want to go back to where we were and be your friend."she said not aware that Severus's eyes were closed and he was practically inhaling her presence."Alright."he said putting his face into her hair.
