Makalipas ang dalawang linggo... masaya ang barkada ng lumabas ang mid-year issue ng Icon Magazine na  Fly High with Us.  Ang nasa cover nito si Maine wearing her uniform, looking so beautiful, elegant and smart standing inside the newest Icon Plane A350 XWB.  Ang caption "FA Maine Mendoza is her name, Flying High is her game."

The featured article inside the magazine reads.... This 23 year old happy faced, petite is hailed from Bulacan. Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza or fondly called Maine is the 3rd child and the youngest daughter of a Businessman Teodoro Mendoza and Businesswoman MaryAnn Capili-Mendoza, who owns five gasoline stations and other businesses. Instead of joining her family's business she chose  to make her own name in the Airline world.

She first step our doors with an innocent look but a very kin mind. She is her batch's top Trainee and she Aced every exam during her Training days. First ever FA Trainee who handled a ground post inside the airport. You might have heard her sweet and beautiful voice announcing your boarding time during one of your flights. Chief Senior FA Ground Post Supervisor Ms. Fatima Wenceslao  commented, "It was an emergency, she took the job without hesitation and with much confidence and handled it very well than expected."

Her FA Handbook "FA Doing it Right" - due to being precise and perfection of her every word is now being used as the new Icon Trainee's FA Guide. During her first six months, she has received nothing but compliments from her Superiors and gained her several referrals from the Company's meticulous Department Supervisors and strict Department Heads.

She was awarded "Achiever or the year" award during the company's Year-end Awards Night. This year, she is the company's Employee of the year for six consecutive months now and is aiming to get more. 

When asked what wisdom can she impart other people that wants to achieve something,she bluntly said, "Buhay ko to, it is only me who can bring myself up. Life in general inspires me, because life is too short to be gloomy and sad, so I'd rather do what I can to make me happy, my family, my friends and that special someone happy as well. Because every time I fly high, they soar with me."

Her latest achievement?  She will be the very first Icon Flight Attendant to be sent to one of our Branch in the United States.  To you Maine, Thank you for the inspiration and we hope to see you back here in the future with more of your achievements and flying stories.

Sa kabilang page naman, may mas maliliit na  picture din siya na nagwo-workout  ang caption.  "Aerokaebo is Aerobics/Karate/Boxing rolled into one, its an exercise that gives every part of my body the workout it needs."

Meron din na nasa Starbucks kasama sila  Ciara, Julia, Patricia and Pauleen drinking coffee. Ang caption "I need caffeine before every flight it keeps me awake and my mind active."

Meron ding naka wacky siya ang caption  "when you smile you know you're beautiful, but when you can make an ugly face like this and you still feel beautiful... that's confidence to the max"

Meron din picture habang nag dedemo sya during a flight ang caption, "Am I the same person? One of the rarest time that I am serious. :P"

at ang huli... picture nya sa Pilot/ FA Lounge, kausap nya si RJ, Miggy, Matthew at James and her eyes are smiling too ang caption "Inlove who? Me? to who? your guess is as good as mine."

Alam ni Maine na lalabas na ang magazine that month pero hindi nya alam kung kailan.  Kaya pagpasok nya sa Icon building nagtataka siya  na may nagbubulungan. May mga matatagal na FA siyang nakasalubong na nagsabi ng Congrats , ngumingiti lang siya kahit hindi nya alam kung bakit.  Pagdating nya sa FA Lounge nandon si Capt. Frank, Matthew, James, Pauleen, Ciara at ilan pang Pilot at FA, nagpalakpakan sila. Nagulat siya.

Maine:  Hala bakit? Hindi ko naman birthday.

Lumapit ang mga kaibigan niya sa kanya at yumakap sa kanya. 

Ciara: eto oh, lumabas na.

Ipinakita nila sa kanya ang magazine.  Isa-isa namang lumapit ang ibang Piloto at FA na nandon.

Capt. Frank:  Iba ka talaga Mendoza!

Matt: Congrats! Paniguradong matutuwa si RJ niyan.

Maine: Talaga palagay mo matutuwa siya?

Pauleen:  Oo matutuwa yon kaya lang malulungkot din.

Maine:  Bakit naman?

James:  Hindi mo pa nababasa no? Baka hindi mo pa nga alam... 

Kinuha ni James at binasa ang dulo ng article...

James:  Her latest achievement? She will be the very first Icon Flight Attendant to be sent to one of our Branch in the United States.

Kinuha ni Maine ang magazine at binasa ito. Naisip nya, "totoo nga!"

Maine:   Ngayon ko lang nalaman yan.  Tinanong nila if I would be willing if ever, syempre ang sagot ko Oo, tapos last week pinatawag ako for an interview. Akala ko naman lahat may ganong interview.

Ciara:  Papano yan?

Pauleen:  Maiintindihan naman nya yan.

Maine:  Naipadala na ba ang kopya nito sa ibang flights?

Capt. Frank:  Malamang, kahapon pa ata yan lumabas eh.

Sa kabilang banda sa Dubai airport... naghahanda si RJ at Miggy para sa flight nila pabalik ng Manila. Inilalagay nila ang gamit nila habang naghihintay magboarding. Naglalagay na ng bagong issue ng magazine si Jill sa mga upuan ng pasahero.  Lumapit sa kanya si Jeff  at Eric ang mga Cabin Crew, binabasa ang magazine.

Jeff:  Grabe ang ganda nya oh!

Eric:  Basahin mo yung article sa loob, hindi lang sya maganda, magaling pa.

Jill:  Oo, si Ms. Maine yan, girlfriend ni Capt. RJ.

Narinig ni Miggy yon, nagkatinginan sila ni RJ.  Lumapit si Miggy sa pinakamalapit na upuan at kinuha ang magazine. Tiningnan ang frontpage. Napangiti ito at nagsisigaw.

Miggy:  Capt. RJ,  nasa cover ng magazine ang girlfriend mo!

Napalabas ng cock pit si RJ, hinila ang magazine na nasa kamay ni Miggy.

Napangiti ito at biglang tumalon

RJ:  Yes!!! She did it!!!

Naghigh five pa sila ni Miggy at nagtawanan.  Lumapit na sa kanila ang Cabin Crew.

Eric:  Congrats Sir! Ang ganda na smart pa ni Ms. Maine.

Jill:  Sir, nandyan kayo sa isang picture don sa  likod ng article.

Binuklat ni RJ ang magazine at itinuro ni Jill... natawa si RJ sa Caption.

Jill:  Eh obvious namang sa iyo siya nakatingin eh.

Jeff:  Sir Miggy, andyan  ka din oh.

Miggy:  Oo nga, nakaextra pa kami.

Tuwang-tuwa si RJ alam nyang pangarap ni Maine ang mafeature sa magazine ng Icon. 

RJ:  Jill, akin na ito ha

Jill: Oo sir, ikaw Sir Miggy eto na sa yo oh.

Bumalik na sa cock pit ang dalawa, habang naghihintay binasa ni RJ ng malakas ang article. Bago pa nya nabasa ang huling paragraph

Miggy:  Wow! Ipapadala si Maine sa isang branch sa US?

Binasa na nya ng tuluyan, yun din ang intindi nya. Nagkatinginan ang dalawa.

Tinawag ni RJ sa mic si Jill.

Jill:  Yes Capt.?

RJ:  Kailan lumabas ito? 

Jill:  Kahapon ata Sir, malamang ngayon lang nabasa yan ng karamihan.

RJ: Mamaya pa ang flight nya so hindi pa nya nababasa ito.

Miggy: Malamang, kasi kung nabasa na nya yan tumawag na yon sa yo.

Biglang nagring ang phone ni Miggy.  Sinagot niya ito.

Miggy: Hi babe, kamusta?

Ciara: Ok na ok Babe, I've got good news, lumabas na yung mag.

Miggy:  Yah eto nga kakabasa lang namin n i RJ.

Ciara:  Tatawag na sana si Maine kay RJ para ibalita pero ipinatawag sya sa Office eh.

Miggy: Ok sige sabihin ko sa kanya. Babe, tawagan kita later, we are getting ready to take off eh.

May natanggap naman na message si RJ galing kay Maine.

MM GF:  Hi Luv! I've got some news... not sure if its good or bad for you.  Usap tayo when we get the chance i am summoned to the Office eh. I love you.

Sumagot si RJ.

BFF RJ:  Of course its goods news... I  am so proud of you Luv and I am happy for you. I miss you... I love you so much.

Nabasa naman ni Maine.  Napaisip ito, "Sana nga masaya ka RJ. Sana nga!"
