Chapter Eight

The vampires moved around me, all of them following Sebastian's movement with their predator eyes like wolves waiting for a signal to attack. He stood next to Oliver, causing Theo to take another step away from the table in clear indication that he wasn't completely needed for this situation. Sebastian's fingertips traced my cheek lightly, tilting my head towards him carefully before he looked up at the others.

"Go ahead," He approved firmly. Suddenly, my clothes were being torn apart in random places. It was as if I was a gift wrapped in paper, selected pieces being ripped off almost eagerly.

"Where did you get this shit, Theo? A dumpster?" Miles quipped humorously. He tore away the oversized sleeve, baring my entire left arm to him and Levi. Theo didn't grace the question with an answer. Sebastian had politely rolled the sleeve of my other arm up, caressing my skin coaxingly while Oliver had helped Jax in tearing the legs of my pants from my feet nearly to my hips.

"Do we have to listen to your complaining every time?" Oliver answered for Theo. His touch was the first to trail along my skin after Sebastian. Oliver softly ran his entire hand from my ankle up to the inside of my right leg. "Come on, angel. Glow for me."

Jax followed in suit, his hands gripping my leg carefully. He cupped my left calf, lifting my leg just slightly before running his lips over the curve of my knee affectionately. It was enough for the flame to vaguely flicker within me; the smallest amount of pleasurable light sparking under his kiss.

"I see," Levi mused, watching Jax intensely. He grasped my left wrist, twisting my arm so that my palm was facing up. Then he bent forward to place the sweetest kiss on my wrist; so light and warm. A spark of fire resulted, enough to cause him to jerk back quickly as if it had stunned him. Miles watched the entire exchange suspiciously.

"What is it?" Miles asked his twin.

"It's like being given a dose of power. Or the end result of feeding all at once and so suddenly," Levi responded curiously, staring down at my wrist as if he had discovered something most valuable. He looked to Miles quickly. "Have a taste. You'll love it."

Miles gripped the same arm carefully, running his hand over my upper arm and nearing my shoulder line. With all of them touching me, I was definitely beginning to feel the warmth and desire stirring within me, though the luminescence still didn't appear on my skin for them. Miles moved forward, parting his lips slightly before planting a dominating kiss over my flesh, his tongue tasting my skin as well. The erupting flame that responded was even stronger than it had been with Levi, only Miles resisted pulling away in surprise. Instead, he opened his mouth and bit down greedily, his fangs tearing into my flesh causing blood to rush onto his tongue. My shallow breath had been caught in intense reaction.

"Miles," Theo exclaimed threateningly, but Sebastian silenced him with a look. A glow appeared under Miles' bite, stronger than ever. I stirred just slightly at the vicious flame that responded to his desperate pull on my veins, the sensation nothing short of bliss. Miles lifted his head with a gasp, leaning back in exhilaration.

"I've never tasted anything like that," Miles stated, his voice caked with hunger and excitement. My regeneration ability had already begun to replace what blood he had taken from me and the flame within me wasn't yet satisfied enough to remain. The radiance faded without words etching behind them.

"We'll feed, then," Sebastian announced after observing for a moment. He looked up at the others carefully, "We're not aiming to kill, understand? Show a bit of self-control. All of you." He paused only a moment before gripping my arm more firmly. He lifted my limb to him deliberately and bit into my forearm. His jaw was strong and tense with restraint and the feel of his bite on my arm sent a sharp static of fire throughout me.

Miles wasted no time in following Sebastian, biting into my other arm where he had placed his first kiss greedily. Levi leaned forward to replace his sweet kiss by piercing my veins with his sharp fangs softly. Between the three of them alone, a bright desire burned under my skin for them. Jax contributed by tearing into my flesh just above my knee almost viciously, tasting my blood with a low growl in his throat.

Oliver shifted my other leg to the side, angling it out so that he could caress my inner thigh carefully. He ran his lips over my skin teasingly, a light sparking beneath his touch that spoke to the craving within me. He only teased momentarily before finally joining the others and burying his fangs into my thigh sharply.

The warmth was abruptly increased, nearly painful. I arched my back, crying out behind the burning sun that was my body. Etchings that came with the glow burst from under their touch, devouring my flesh almost completely. I squirmed like liquid under the pull of their feeding, panting heavily and uncontrollably. I was suddenly more awake than I had ever been, throbbing under their touch as if this had been the entire reason for my existence.

"Stop," Theo demanded sharply, "She's awake. Sebastian, stop!"

Oliver and Levi released me immediately, their fangs ripping from my flesh painfully. I yelped at the sensation, my body uncomfortable with their absence. This feeling was diverted when Miles bit down harder, pulling at my veins with more force than before. I was again in bliss, my skin beaming with golden letters and heat under the remaining vampires' touches.

"Guys, stop," Oliver had reached over to Jax, jarring him from his trance enough to remove yet another pain of fangs from me. The only ones remaining were Sebastian and Miles, who drew at the blood within my body as if it was now a competition between the two. When Levi moved to grab Miles, he snarled viciously, tightening his grip on me enough to send a shock of agony throughout my arm and shoulder. When I cried out in response, it wasn't the sound of pleasure I had been emitting previously.

"Sebastian," Theo shouted angrily, "Control yourself!"

Sebastian's bite hadn't become firmer or more vicious as Miles' had. His eyes stayed trained on my face, a determination having budded within them. I gasped when my heart fluttered in my chest, my regeneration beginning to fail against the rate of blood I was losing.

The radiance on my flesh began to expand slowly, reaching over Sebastian and Miles' touch invitingly. Their skin began to glow as mine did, words twisting over their flesh almost uncertainly. As the warmth spread to them, it began to fade within me once again.

Sebastian abruptly tore himself from me, facing Miles before snarling, "Miles!" The last pair of fangs embedded in my flesh was unexpectedly pulled from me. Miles panted from beside me, glaring at Sebastian who had knocked him from his ravenous feeding with one word. They both stood apart from me, the glow flashing over their flesh as a leftover side-effect from their feast.

I couldn't lie still. I squirmed on top of the table, my blood throbbing within me excitedly and the luminance of my own skin still beaming from their previous touches. I rolled my head back, closing my eyes as the heat flashed repeatedly through me. I felt like a burning star, pulsing in the vast sky. Both Sebastian and Miles lost their brilliance far quicker before mine began to fade.

"What was that?" Theo asked angrily from next to the table. He brushed his hand over my cheek, his touch a cool contrast that for some reason felt addicting on its own. I leaned my face towards him almost immediately, causing him to tilt his head curiously.

"I was testing something," Sebastian stated, "Miles just helped speed it along. You have no control, do you?" Sebastian directed his question towards Miles, who no longer seemed upset. He crossed his arms smugly.

"I want her after Oliver."

"You can have her after Levi," Sebastian responded with authority. Miles scoffed, but didn't argue the point. He turned to Oliver, who was watching quietly next to Jax. "Go on, then. She's yours for now. The rules remain; don't kill her. And don't tell anyone what she is."

Oliver didn't waste time once he was given permission. He was suddenly hovering over me, his hands placed on the table on either side of my head. I was still breathing harshly, my heart racing in my chest as if I had run a marathon. But with him so close to me, everyone else fell away around me. I relaxed under him, my breathing becoming shallow, and watched the features of his face quietly.

"Still not afraid, hmm?" He asked me, smiling mischievously down at me. I shook my head just the slightest, breathing in sharply when he unexpectedly shifted closer to me. His breath lined my lips only inches away. I waited with batted breath, completely frozen below him. When he lifted away from me, I lifted my head momentarily to follow him as if enraptured.

"She acts bound," Levi's voice commented next to me. I moved to look towards him, but Oliver reached for me and traced his fingers under my chin briefly. The warmth of the sun flourished under the touch eagerly, drawing my complete attention to him once again.

"We're going to have lots of fun, you and I," Oliver predicted, the thoughts running through his head enough to cast a devious undertone in his words. I couldn't muster the idea of being wary of his definition of fun. The only thing I could understand was my instincts utter joy at knowing I would be within reach of his addicting touch; something I felt at the moment I would do anything for.

~...~

I stood in a daze, staring softly at nothing in particular. I wasn't sure how long I had been standing like that, blinking absently while enjoying the fading effects of what I had gone through. I recalled on repeat the absolute thrill of having the vampires' fangs tearing into me, sending a vibrant flow of pleasure throughout me. If that flame within me had its way, I would have gladly allowed myself to be devoured completely without a fight.

I closed my eyes, tightening my hands into firm fists and digging my nails into my palms fiercely. The unwelcomed pain startled me, but I continued until the fog that had obsessed my mind began to clear. When I opened my eyes, I could recognize I was somewhere I hadn't yet been.

I looked around carefully. It was yet another magnificent bedroom, big enough to be its own house. There was a theme of automobiles about the room. In one area, a shrine had been built similar to a book shelf, but models of cars, bikes, and similar items were placed delicately within.

This room also had a sitting area, though the sofas were lounge chairs placed in front of a massive television. Not far from there was a home wet bar and further down was a pool table. Nearer to the massive bed was a large desk holding a computer. Images on the wall were randomized between machines, guitars, and mostly naked models. All throughout the room, stray clothing was found hanging over chairs or on the floor. It was a strange contrast to Theo's pristine room.

I looked down at myself to find I looked as though I had been ravaged by animals. My clothing was in shreds in random places and blood caked my skin over sensitive wounds. I was healing rather quickly, but the remaining pain of their bites left me aching all over. I needed to wash off the blood.

I stepped through the room abruptly, pulling open one set of doors to find an enormous walk-in closet. I ignored this and moved to another door which led to a large bathroom as impressive as Theo's. Afraid of irritating my wounds, I drew up a bath in the massive tub and stepped in. The warm water was soothing on my skin and comforting on my soul. After I had cleaned myself thoroughly, I hugged the edge of the tub, leaning my cheek against it and considered taking a nap. Perhaps when I awoke, I'd be healed completely once again.

I had to remind myself that I was in a strange room taking a bath in someone else's restroom. I resolved to save the nap for later and began drying myself slowly. I didn't know where my spare clothing was, no matter how large and unfitted they were. I found a closet within the bathroom that held towels and robes, so I covered myself with an oversized robe that obviously wasn't for me.

When I stepped back into the unknown room, Oliver was standing expectantly in front of the bed. I froze, tensing immediately. My body sung at the sight of him, remembering his kiss on the meat of my thigh and the heat of his touch.

"I brought you proper clothes," Oliver announced, reaching behind him to grasp a separate outfit he had placed on the edge of the bed. He tilted his head innocently, holding out the outfit to me. I hesitated, but stepped forward to accept the gift. When I grasped the clothing, I felt the allure of his aura so close to me, but I quickly stepped away to keep my mind.

"Thank you," I responded gratefully, looking down at the clothing. I stepped to the nearest table quickly while Oliver smirked and turned behind him to crinkle the bag he had brought with him into a small ball.

"I want you to change here, in front of me," He stated deviously, but when he turned to look at me, I had already dropped my oversized robe to the ground without embarrassment. I was peering at a pair of dainty underwear curiously when he made his statement, causing me to pause and look back at him.

"Okay, master..." I responded sarcastically, a bit of Theo slipping into my tone. I pulled on the underwear easily, reaching for the bra next. I had yet to wear one, considering Theo's idea of providing me with clothes usually meant going commando. I wasn't sure how exactly to put it on, except that I knew there were several ways. I put my arms through the straps carefully and attempted to attach the clasps from behind. I immediately felt I made a mistake because I couldn't accurately attach the damn things. I cast Oliver a shy look, "Can you help me?"

He had been watching me with surprise as if trying to figure me out. His initial idea to embarrass me, make me nervous, or frighten me had failed so far. He slipped behind me, brushing his hand through my hair before pushing the locks over my shoulder in order to bare my back to him. I felt a luxurious chill run over my skin, my muscles tensing in anticipation.

"Normally girls aren't so quick to get naked in front of a stranger," Oliver mused humorously from behind me, attaching the clasps of the bra before running his fingers over my spine slowly. I sighed at the warmth it brought, closing my eyes as he stepped closer to me. His hands gripped my hips firmly, pulling me against his chest so that he could lean forward and run his lips over my shoulder. My skin glowed under his touch, those familiar words scrawling delicately in response. I leaned my head back against him, allowing his advances without a fight.

"But you're not normal, are you?" Oliver finally said, lifting his lips from me. His hands ran over my stomach, moving lower before pausing. He suddenly lifted a hand to my arm, brushing his fingers over my upper arm down to my wrist carefully. "Can you read the words?"

I was startled by the question.

"The words?" I asked breathlessly. Oliver drew circles over my wrist affectionately, moving my wrist in front of me.

"These words on your skin. Can you read them?"

I peered at the glowing etches that appeared under his touch. They looked familiar and were important. I knew if I observed them long enough, the words would begin to make sense. But something in me bled fear at the thought. My heart began to pound speedily as I stared at them. I watched the words momentarily, smoke beginning to flood my senses. Screams were in the distance. I felt my vision beginning to blur and gasped, looking away.

"I'm not supposed to read it," I panicked against Oliver. He allowed me to twist in his embrace, and so I hugged against him with my face buried in his chest for comfort as my pulse thudded rapidly throughout me. "Please, don't make me."

Oliver reached for my chin, lifting my face to his before smiling.

"Don't worry, Katia. I was just curious," He told me, placing a sweet kiss on my forehead. He released me reluctantly, moving away. "Go ahead and get dressed. I've got a delivery to make, so feel free to rest while I'm gone." He winked at me. I touched my skin where he had previously drawn the words out. The light was fading without him, but still I avoided looking directly at it. I wasn't sure why exactly I was afraid of reading the words, but my instinct told me it was information not meant for me. I was a carrier, not a receiver. To try and change that sang of grave consequences in the depths of my subconscious mind.
