Warning!!!!! - Mentions of misogyny, domestic abuse, and blood!!!! Do not read if any of these are triggers!
You arrived at Camp Wawanakwa with Ezekiel Miller, a teenager from your hometown, to compete on the newest reality tv show, Total Drama Island, in the hopes of winning one hundred thousand dollars!
You didn't know much about Ezekiel. All you knew was that he was homeschooled by his parents who spent most of their time on their family's farm. As far as anyone in town knew, the family produced everything they could need on their farm. They only came into town to purchase tools and other supplies that they couldn't grow themselves.
His isolated life intrigued you, though, so when the farm boy asked you out, you couldn't say no.
But now, you were starting to wish that you did.

Duncan was your typical gothic bad boy; he spent a lot of time in juvie and enjoyed doing anything that was against the rules. He didn't like being close to anyone, and it wasn't uncommon for one of his teammates to find themselves on his wrong side after a quick chat. But it was different with you.
Ever since you stepped off of the boat and onto the dock outside of Camp Wawanakwa, Duncan had a soft spot for you. He cared about you, whether he wanted to admit it to himself or not. But once he found out that you were with Ezekiel, things began to change. You weren't as bright and happy as you used to be and you always seemed to flinch when people got too close to you. Whenever you hung out with one of your friends, you seemed overly anxious until you would come up with a lame excuse to bail.
Duncan couldn't figure out what was wrong with you, but since you were with Ezekiel, he figured that it wasn't his place to question you. Instead, he backed off, giving Ezekiel his time alone with you.
But one day, as he was returning to the Killer Bass Cabin after pranking Harold with his own underwear, Duncan heard screams coming from the girl's side of the cabin.
Your screams.
"You stupid girl! Gah, my dad was right about your gender! You can't do anything right! No wonder he always needs to be around to keep an eye on my Mom," Duncan heard Ezekiel yell before hearing a loud smack and a shriek of pain that sounded like it came from you.
"W-what did I d-do?" Duncan could hear you mumble faintly.
"What did you do? How about what didn't you do? I still have a bag of clean laundry that's just sitting in my cabin! It was your job to take care of it, so why is it still sitting there?" Ezekiel accented his last sentence with painful kicks to your stomach.
"I-I'm your girlfriend, not your maid!" you fought back as loudly as you could, but all it did was earn you more suffering.
"I thought you were smarter than that, but I guess you really are just some stupid wench! Guys are smarter, stronger, and more athletic than you pathetic females! Why would I waste my precious time doing a woman's job when I have you to do it for me?" Ezekiel bellowed. Outside of the cabin, Duncan could hear as Ezekiel began to beat you senseless.
Duncan couldn't stand hearing Ezekiel treat you like that. He may have been a low-life criminal, but he would never allow a guy to beat any woman, especially if it happened to be you.
He tried the door, only to find that it was locked. But no locked door had ever stopped him before, so why should now be any different?
Duncan emitted an animalistic growl before charging at the door. He repeatedly slammed his shoulder into the door, causing it to shake on its hinges from the impact before it finally gave way and caved underneath him.
Once the door came down, Duncan got a full view of the damage Ezekiel had done to you. Dark crimson blood oozed from your nose and lower lip while both of your eyes began to darken and swell. Handprints glowed bright red on your cheeks, and who knows what your clothes were covering on the rest of your body. But after seeing that horrific sight, Duncan could only see red.
Duncan charged at Ezekiel like an angry bull before tackling him off of your body. As soon as Ezekiel was on the ground, Duncan was on top of him, sending a barrage of punches his way. He punched with all of the strength he had, not even bothering to stop at first sight of blood. Ezekiel tried to return with hits of his own, but he was no match for the juvenile delinquent who straddled him.
Duncan continued to fight until he felt himself being yanked off by other campers. He challenged those who tried to stop him, but he was no match for the five guys who restrained him; DJ, Trent, Owen, Tyler, and Geoff.
As his senses returned to normal, Duncan saw you in a pile surrounded by girls of the camp; Gwen, Leshawna, Bridgette, and Courtney were there as they comforted you and tended to your injuries. But alas, you refused to explain anything; all you could do was cry.
"What the heck happened here?" Trent asked as he sat a calmer Duncan down.
"Ask homeschool over there," Duncan spat disgustedly as he nodded to the wounded redneck.
"I'm asking anyone, really," Trent sighed confusedly as he looked around, "What happened here?"
"Nothing, I just minded my own business with my girlfriend-" Ezekiel began to explain before being cut off by Duncan.
"You were beating her to a pulp, and all because she didn't wash your clothes that you should've been cleaning yourself! I don't know what kind of relationship you were having, but it ends today!" Duncan growled through clenched teeth as he glared daggers at the smaller teen.
"Well as I see it, the only person here who really gets to make that choice is me," Ezekiel glared back at Duncan with a devilish smirk.
"I'm sure (Y/N) would much rather be with anyone else at this camp, even Cody," Duncan snarled as he rolled his eyes.
"Well, it's a good thing she doesn't get to make those decisions, isn't it?" Ezekiel smirked as he got up to walk back over to you.
"Woah woah woah, what do you mean 'she doesn't get to make those decisions?'" Bridgette growled as she approached Ezekiel.
"Guys are better than girls at everything. They're smarter and stronger, so why should she be allowed to make any decisions about the relationship?" Ezekiel explained as if it was common knowledge.
Every person in the cabin gasped. "Excuse me?" Gwen asked as she joined Bridgette in a stare down against Ezekiel.
"You heard me, hot stuff," Ezekiel smirked with a wink.
"You will not treat (Y/N) or any other girl like that! At the first chance we get, you are leaving! (Y/N) is no longer your girlfriend, so don't get any ideas," Courtney growled from her position beside you.
"If (Y/N) can't even say it, I guess it's not over," Ezekiel continued to smirk, "I have her wrapped around my finger, she will never leave."
"You're right; I won't leave, because you're the one who's leaving," you spoke for the first time since Duncan arrived, "We are done, and you are leaving for good. Find someone else to do your laundry. But wait, no one will want to, because this is aired on national television, and nobody will want to be with you after that!"
"Excuse me?" Ezekiel asked threateningly as he marched closer to you, "What did you say to me?"
"You heard me," you glared at him as you repeated what he had said just a few minutes ago.
"That's it!" Ezekiel exclaimed before preparing to hit you again, but he wasn't fast enough. As soon as he finished speaking, Duncan came up behind him and hit him in the back of the head hard enough to make Ezekiel fall to the floor with a crash.
Once Ezekiel was restrained, the fellow contestants had a fun time marching his stunned form to the Dock of Shame where they knew he would belong soon. But as they went to celebrate their victory over the misogynist, Duncan used the alone time to check on you.
"Are you okay...?" Duncan whispered as he softly trod over to your small figure, but all you could do was shake your head.
"I am so sorry that I let this happen. I should've noticed sooner, I should've saved you earlier, but I didn't, and I'm so sorry. I don't expect you to forgive me for letting you down but-" Duncan rambled on before you placed a finger to his mouth to hush him.
"I-I'm just glad that you got here when you did," you smiled softly at your savior.
Duncan sighed before pulling you close to him while rubbing your back softly. You had never seen the tough guy care for anyone before as it was vital for him to keep up his bad boy image. But now, he seemed completely different, although you didn't mind his sweet transformation. After all, it did just save you from unimaginable pain, and that was a big plus.
You cuddled up to Duncan as you guys sat in peaceful silence. You rested your head on his chest, only for you to fall asleep, knowing that no one could hurt you as long as Duncan was there to protect you.
As you were drifting off to sleep, you heard Duncan whisper something in your ear:
"I will always be here for you, princess."

Ah, I'm so sorry that it took such a gruesome turn, but I couldn't help but wonder what Duncan would do to help those he loved! If anyone has any requests, feel free to let me know!
