Chapter 55

Percy appeared in his throne room of New Tartarus and immediately scanned his domain for his father. He found Tartarus in the Prison Arena sitting at his desk seemingly doing something one it, Percy made a portal and knocked on the door.

"Come in." Percy stepped in and Tartarus immediately stood from his desk and stepped around it to give Percy a hug. "You're back! It's been a while, I missed you son."

Percy nodded and reciprocated the hug, "I missed you as well. I see you're trying to get the monsters here to accept a more civil lifestyle than going around killing everything huh?" Percy was able to see the early beginnings of a distant city being built around the palace at his heart.

"Yes. It's been a few years since you left, and I decided instead of monsters constantly fighting for a chance to get the the mortal world. Since there may not have been a mortal world anymore if you never did end up coming back, so I decided to step a little away from being a warden and more into being a ruler again. Unfortunately this is what comes with the job and I'm going to be up to my neck in papers for the next century or so..."

"I like the idea, it sounds like it might give the chance for monsters to not only develop into something more, but it also may be a chance to allow further relations with Earth once they're stable enough here." Percy nodded, "And in case you're wondering, we did win. I ended up not having to kill Order in the end, but he'd been possessed by Lost and letting go caused him to return to Eternity."

"I always wondered what the Light felt like..." Percy punched the man lightly on the shoulder.

"Don't you think about giving up on me just yet old man, I still need you around to see things through." Percy gripped Tartarus' shoulder lightly and looked in his eyes, "After taking me in and teaching me yourself about not only my new powers, but also help me with getting used to the reality of being a monster and calling me family I won't be letting you go anywhere until I've found a way to repay you for it all..."

"You know I was just a lonely old man and saw a broken Hero that I could take in and try to manipulate into doing my bidding right?" Tartarus revealed and Percy just looked at him blankly.

"I knew, but that didn't change the fact you saved me, and later called me family, so what happened in the past happened and I promise you that I will repay you for saving me in the future." Tartarus was a bit shocked at how Percy was acting. Sure he did see him as a pawn at first, and that eventually turned into something different until the point where he only saw Percy as family, a child of his in a way. That's when he gave Percy his throne, his power and took a step back in his Immortality.

"Okay. Now before you get emotional on me I want to say that you've been the best father I've ever had and no matter what you thought of me then, how you see me now is all that's important to me." Percy pulled Tartarus in for another quick hug. When he stepped back Tartarus was looking away ashamed of himself, before his mind came around to understanding and he loved Percy all the more for being who he was. "Now that Order is dealt with, the Earth is safe, and the gods have been dealt with I can..."

"Son. What did you do?" Tartarus was apprehensive of the answer but Percy may have done something extremely irrational and potentially made things worse.

"I just killed Zeus, Hera, and Ares. and I sent the Fates off on a short nap to make sure that Earth had a little time of Peace before they come and screw things up again..." Percy replied and Tartarus groaned in the background. Of course he did something rash, killing the gods was one thing, but the Fates? They were the ones that were in charge of keeping most of the order in the mortal realm and the only one that could really keep things in line now was Thanatos but he was due for a vacation soon...

"Who are you going to put up as their replacements then?" Tartarus asked and Percy shrugged.

"I honestly don't care. Whoever rises to power will and if they end up causing problems I'll just snuff them out too, but I know that I don't want the power, Annabeth might but I'm going to be spending time with her for a while these next few years, and Artemis is busy trying to stabilize herself and has to focus on her own problems at the moment." Tartarus just sighed. Even if he saved it Percy just didn't really care about Earth at all anymore, "Hell if Gaia wants to rise again and rule along with Pontus I'll support it, even help if needed."

Another sigh came from Tartarus but Percy pretended not to hear, "Alright. I assume that you are going to be leaving now?" Percy nodded. "Alright. Have fun and the next time I see you I want to meet Annabeth the right way this time and you better visit often as the kingdom stabilizes here too."

"Don't worry dad I will." Percy grinned, "I'll even make sure we'll bring along some kids too." He then disappeared into a portal behind him and left Tartarus standing there shocked. He chuckled and turned back to his desk to finish his work.

"That kid's going to be the death of me..." He sat down and looked at the document before him, tapping the pen against the table in thought a moment, "Grand-kids huh? I'm looking forward to it son."

---------------------

Percy appeared in front of Artemis' temple again and knocked at the entrance again. This time Thalia answered the door, and with a spear to his face. Percy easily batted it to the side and stepped past her guard, tapping her forehead lightly with a claw and smirking.

"Your it." He was answered by her discharging a hundred bolts worth of lightning into him through his finger and Percy found the feeling awfully nostalgic. When she was done she was still touching her head and grinning, "You done?"

She huffed and turned away, "I can't sent you flying anymore. That's totally not fair..." She stomped off into the temple and pointed to the side with her spear, "Annabeth's off that way. I wan't to have a chat with you later about killing dad fluff-face." Percy agreed that he would talk to her about that later but checking on Annabeth came first. He stalked off in the direction she pointed, searching for Annabeth using his bond and was at her side a few minutes later.

Artemis seemed to be checking on her at the moment and she looked at Percy with an expression full of guilt. "I should have..."

"Stop there." Percy interrupted, putting up a hand to silence her, "You were looking out for your Hunt and I'm sure that with them all having stayed safe though all of this you will grow stronger and save even more lives in the future. If I had to take Annabeth somewhere to keep her out of danger I would have, so do not feel bad about being selfish for those you care about so much."

Artemis took what he said in for a moment and stepped back from Annabeth respectfully to let him by to stand at her side, "Plus I killed your father so you have every right to be angry at me or even try to kill me instead of treating me so kindly."

"My father has been on the throne too long, and the power has clearly gone to his head. He trapped mine and my brother's mom on an island for thousands of years, alone, just because she was a titan...not to mention the countless other things he's done to kill mortals just because a rival brother had a kid with them." Artemis shook her head sadly, "As much as I regret having to say it, maybe dying once will teach him a thing or two about crossing the wrong kinds of people and maybe he'll come back changed..."

"Well, whether he end up being able to come back depends on how he acts in my domain, but that won't be for a few centuries so there will be plenty of time to rest and take care of yourself and your Hunt." Percy said, "I am going to be taking my mate now, and please ask Thalia if she wants to become the new goddess of lightning for when I reform the council with people that will care." Percy gently grabbed Annabeth and opened a portal a short distance away to a place he was sure they would be unbothered for a while.

Artemis watched him leave with a mixture of emotion: part of her was mad that he actually killed her father, but part of her was relieved that he just killed Zeus rather than taking his energy and forcefully making him fade away into nothing but a memory. She waited till the portal closed before flashing to the center of her Hunt, they all knew to close their eyes when she appeared, but there were a few times still where she'd had to repair their bodies after her aura burned them blind.

"Girls. I believe that now is the time for us to depart from the temple and make a home for ourselves somewhere, searching for new recruits and doing our normal hunts until we find where we want to settle as we always have." She said and they all screamed in relief and joy at being able to leave so early. A lot of them thought that they would be stuck in her temple for hundreds of years or more, and that whatever war they were missing would make it's way over to them and ruin their peace.

Artemis soon found Thalia and called her to the side, "Percy has left with his mate, but he wanted me to ask you something."

"Since when do you do favors for males?" Thalia asked, "I get that Percy is quite literally stronger than all of us now, and that he is the reason we are all safe, but just because you respect him doesn't mean that you have to do what he says..."

"I agreed because it would be a good opportunity for the both of us." Artemis took one of Thalia's hands and looked at her seriously, "Thalia, how would you like to become a goddess?"

------------------

Annabeth felt like she'd been run over by Arion and then screamed at by several giants for good measure. It took her a moment to realize where she was, and as soon as she looked over to try and find Percy he was already at her side embracing her in a tight hug.

"Thank you for straining yourself so much to keep me safe." He whispered and Annabeth noticed something odd. His ears had turned into Wolf ones at the top of his head again, and he had a tail once more as well.

"You are mine and I am yours. No one else should harm you but me." Annabeth reached up and touched one of the ears: it was so soft, she didn't understand how fur could possibly be this soft.

"I thought you'd like it if I kept them, since you seemed so enthralled by them when fighting those mortals..." Percy's comment halted all thought in her head and she stopped touching the ears in an attempt to diminish the amount of embarrassment she was feeling. Percy, however, just took her hand and put it back on his head, kissing her lovingly as he did so.

"I'm glad you like them," he grinned and she continued to do whatever she wanted to his new appendages.

"What happens now?" She asked, her heart fluttering in her chest and any pain all but forgotten at the feral gaze she got in return.

"Well I'm sure that the word won't be destroyed now, and we aren't needed to obey some stupid prophecies or follow any gods anymore so I was thinking I would deliver on that promise." He growled playfully and lifted her up with ease. Annabeth bit her lip with much of her repressed urges coming out all at once.

"You're completely at my mercy then?" She asked, her eyes glowing dangerously and that caught Percy completely by surprise. He froze just at he door to their room and looked at her.

"Huh?" Was all he got out before she pounced.

Alright. This was much harder to write than the other scenes of the two. It probably caused me to rush this more than the others, but I figure now that it should be alright since she's immortal now and pain like sore muscles and headaches is a simple matter to fix...

Anyway, this marks the end of Tortured Warrior and I will be moving on to my other stories, perhaps coming back next year, maybe sooner, to edit this and maybe add an Epilogue for you all.
Comment here if you want one.

Thank you all for the reads, votes, and the countless follows and saves I've gained from this book alone. I hope that all of my other works will reach a point to stand higher than even this one and I wish you all a well and  good day/night!
