Chapter 53

Chaos looked around for a moment, the silence surrounding all eight figures was tense with seven stressed and confused warriors. She seemed to be thinking about something, or maybe remembering something? Either way the five minutes she was silent was a near eternity in the minds of the seven before her. Percy because he was unsure of whether he should fight her if things went awry, and the other six because Chaos was like a second mother figure to them all and it would hurt them if she didn't remember them.

"Silver. Alpha. Forge. Glamour. Sundrop. Shadow. And, Percy?" Nods answered each name she called. "What are you all doing in Void?"

"We don't know." Percy said, noticing that the other six were struggling with just holding themselves back. Joy and Love radiating from their auras. "We aimed to find you hoping you would know what to do."

"I see..." Chaos turned to the six warriors, impatiently waiting where they floated. "I didn't expect to see you all here but I am glad you are..." She barely finished before all six of them blasted towards her in a giant group hug. A multitude of emotions flooding from each of them: Gratitude, love, and relief. It surprised even Percy to feel such strong emotions from them all, especially Silver, Alpha, and Shadow since they were highly concealing of their deeper emotions thus far...

"Do you know what we do from here?" Percy asked and Chaos shook her head solemnly. Her attention towards him brief as those around her required her full attention. Chaos held them all slightly tighter in her embrace and that seemed to be the signal they'd all been waiting for as a moment later the six floated away slightly and looked towards Chaos reverently.

"I apologize but I am unknown to what problem there may be?" Chaos looked at Percy confused and he huffed his response, unamused. Though, thankfully, he didn't have to speak up as Alpha did that for him.

"I remember now..." He said looking towards the others and they nodded in return, "We were helping you with Lost and their possession of Order's body."

"Lost?"

"You don't remember?" He asked, stepping forward, "Lost took over Order's body to try and take control of the universe. As destroying Earth would let them spread to other universes and conquer their way through different realities..."

Chaos shook her head, "I do not remember..." She looked around for a moment, "It is likely that I am just a fragment of the original Chaos, a manifestation of her presence in this realm's Void as a balance to counteract it nature as the eradicator of all existence."

"You keep saying Void as in a person or thing. Is this not a place?" Shadow stepped forward, asking what had also been on Percy's mind and they all looked at her intently.

"Both. They are the boundary between dimensions, the Space-between as most call it, and they are a sentient being only with a desire to conquer and destroy whilst awake." She continued, "Void was around since before Order, and thus before myself. They are the first and so they met first and knew each other longer than I had Order..."

"And does this relate to Lost in any way?" Percy mentioned and Chaos nodded.

"Lost is the name Void took upon itself as anything that enters into Void is thus lost, so Lost is Void's manifestation in the physical world. Lost is Void: Just without purpose or peace..." Chaos' thoughts seemed to go into a darker place then, "...The only other time Lost came into being was during the Great Fall of Colossal Calamities. A time when the Void had bled into a universe ruled by beings that learned to live in the void most call Space. Where Stars were prey and Moons were pests. Then, during its younger days, Lost struggled coming to terms with their power; Eventually they understood what they were and spread to every edge of that universe--collapsing that reality and returning to how they were before, as Void."

"So does this mean Lost only can be defeated if the effected universe is destroyed?" Alpha asked dreadfully but Chaos shook her head.

"No. The only other way to convince Lost that their role in cleansing a universe is fulfilled is if the vessel they inhibit is granted peace." Chaos said, "Who is their vessel in this realm?"

"We believe that Lost has taken control of Order." Silver stated and there was silence for a good long while as she took in the info.

"Then...it seems that you must grant Order peace in this realm."

"How would we do that?" Forge spoke up, "And what would happen to him if we did?"

"Well in your realm's Order will cease to exist and Lost will return as Void. And it's presence here will cease to it's previous state of in-existence until the next instance occurs." Chaos said, "Order is a constant here, among many realms and dimensions I do not believe that the loss in one will effect this existence too much, other than returning Void to it's former state."

"How would we give Order peace?" Percy's head tilted in thought.

"You must first find him and bring him here, then--once being reunited with the white star--may your Order find peace." She continued with a warning, "You must hurry though, for if Lost's star grows larger than half my state there will no longer be enough room left to house Order in to grant him the rest he desires."

At that Chaos touched everyone in turn and they were all suddenly ejected from the purple star. Percy realized that the nothingness between the stars wasn't bleeding out, it was drawing power from the white star to grow. Currently it was maybe a tenth larger than it had been, and that was about twenty percent the size of Chaos' star.

"Okay so how do we go about this?" Alpha looked at Percy, "Do you know if we have to stay within your aura to not be effected by Void or if we can go off on our own?"

"Let's try it." Percy's smirk unnerved Alpha and the next moment it felt like the six warriors were forcibly dragged away from a warm fire and plunged into a frozen pond. The nothingness around them nibbled at their aura but for now it seemed that it was kept at bay.

"That was...Please warn us if you're about to do something like that next time." Silver shuddered and everyone glared at Percy

"Sorry, geez. I didn't think withdrawing my presence would affect you all that much alright." He growled and got a few annoyed growls in response, but didn't return the outbursts directed towards him. "On a side-note; it worked." This only worsened the glares directed towards him, so he relented and spread his aura around everyone again, slowly and carefully surrounding them without harmful intention.

"What do we do from here then?" Sundrop asked and everyone looked towards Alpha with expectancy.

"Huh? Hey! Don't look at me like that!! I'm just as lost as you are here!" He shied away from their gazes and everyone reluctantly turned towards Percy--after Silver shook her head as well.

"Uh. Okay. I didn't expect to be deciding everything for everyone all the sudden." Percy scratched the back of his neck, slightly nervous. "How about we all study Order's energy for a bit and spread out to look. I can go alone and it would probably be best if you all paired up to conserve energy."

"I don't see a problem with that." Silver stated, "But if we do find him how are we going to let the others know so we can all meet again if Order proves too cumbersome to move as we are?"

"See these threads connecting us to the purple star?" Percy said, somehow grabbing the purple stream of energy and showing it off to the others, who looked at him in shock and awe. "How about I do something similar and connect all of you to me so if one of you finds something you can tug on the thread and I can probably just drag the others pairs to us."

"That might work." Silver shrugged and Percy grinned.

"Cool. Now let's get to work."

------------------------------------

It felt like days before Percy finally felt a tug, from who he was unsure of as once he got far enough away from everyone all of the threads that he had connected everyone to had drifted behind him into a giant mass of red... Another vibration came through two threads and he immediately separated them to pulled himself in their direction. Using his power to drag the others' threads in as he went. Soon he reached a point where the threads separated enough to be distinguished by direction and he found that he was heading in the direction that Forge and Glamour went.

He drifted in their direction for a while, still pulling in the others as he went along. Unfortunately, Percy knew he couldn't just yank them towards him else he risk the thread snapping and separating them from him, leaving whoever that happened to in the distant reached of Void for until he found them again. Though if that did happen it would be a different than last time due to them having awakened and being in pairs, so they would likely have been able to help each other last for a while in Void and it's nothingness that surrounded everyone.

Eventually the red and multi-colored glows of Forge and Glamour came into being in the distance and after what felt like a few more hours, Percy was nearing their side and able to see why he wasn't able to feel the presence of Order...

...his spirit was dead.

Or pretty close to it at the very least? Percy wasn't really able to tell with such a dim amount of power coming from the drifting gray shadow but he touched the cloud anyway to see if that would change anything. The result was slow, so slow that the other four had reached their position. All seven watched silently as the grayness started to congeal and turn into a more physical manifestation of a person.

It felt like a life-time had passed for everyone when Order first spoke. At the time Percy and the others had decided that it would be better to wrap the formless gray in a sort of blanket of Percy's Aura to bring them back to the white star as to not waste any more time.

"Where..." Order's voice sounded strained, very faint as he looked around in shock. "Where am I? Who are all of you?" He asked everyone and Percy watched as Alpha drifted back to converse with the fading primordial.

"I'm Alpha. This is the rest of my team: Silver, Glamour, Forge, Shadow, and Sundrop. That there is Percy." He glanced at Percy--who was acting like he wasn't listening since he still had a grudge against what Order did to Annabeth, even if he wasn't the one in control--and saw that barest twitch of an ear as a sign he was listening, "He's taking all of us to the place where you'll be able to rest."

"Rest?"

"Yeah. Don't you want to rest?" Alpha nodded and Order seemed conflicted. "We'll get there soon, all you'll need to do is..."

"Where's Lost?" The question made Percy nearly stop in his tracks. "He's just a kid, lost and alone. I need to help him, its the only way I can rest."

"Doing this will help him." Silver partially lied, "Lost will return to how they were and you can rest easy knowing you helped them."

"Lost will be okay?" Everyone nodded, "Okay...Who are you? Where are you taking me?"

And that interaction continued for the duration of the trip, looping in on itself seemingly endlessly, until Percy finally spoke up and suggested to play a game to the immortal. This got their attention immediately, like a child...

"How about we play the quiet game?" Percy growled lightly. Tired of the near endless amounts of tries the others went through, trying to explain to the forgetful immortal what was going on, "You stay quiet until we get to where we need to go and I'll reward you with a nice floating ball light." Percy made his aura turn into a reddish-silver ball of light that floated off of his palm for a moment, disappearing after it got a few feet away from his body.

"Okay." Order said slightly out of curiosity and mostly out of direct fear towards Percy.

By the time they were within sight of their location Order had reverted back to their old way of asking what was happening, and what was going on--occasionally asking who they themselves were as well as other things here and there--and Percy was tired of it. It was like dealing with a child, or maybe an old person with dementia? Probably the second one; he was glad that they were finally to their final location, but it wasn't looking good for the white star...

The nothingness between both stars had turned into a black-hole almost a third of the purple star's size and was even starting to eat away at the purple star with even larger wisps of energy coming off the white star. He looked at the others and could tell that they were also having bad thoughts about how things were progressing.

"We're at the place that can help you now..."

"Where?" Percy suppressed a growl and moved as far away from the old god as he could...just barely keeping them within range of his aura. He had to shut off all of his senses for the time it took Alpha and the others to convince the old man of who they were and where they were, and that going into the white star would help Order gain the peace and rest he wanted.

"I just have to touch the white star?" The old man concluded and that got several relieved agreements from everyone present. "Alright."

At that, the fragment of Order's fading self went towards the white star. Percy watched with relief and anxiety as the old man seemed to grow younger and younger, standing taller as they floated closer to the star. It seemed to gleam brighter with every moment as the immortal grew closer and just before touching the star Order looked back towards everyone with a gaze full of pain, sorrow, and gratitude.

And then he touched the star.

--------------------------------------------------

All around Earth there was a giant tide of black creatures storming around:

In Europe, several creatures were climbing over the Eiffel Tower, seemingly trying to touch the moon at it's Zenith over the structure. Only to be thrown off by giant explosions ranging all throughout the length of it.

In Asia, the creatures could be seen repeatedly bashing themselves and others to past on the Great Wall of China with some of them trying to swim or fly to the island off the coast with little success. Falling to the ground after being struck by bolts of lightning or being swallowed by the waves of a dying sea.

In the Americas, the creatures were storming every major city and previously populated area. Trying in vain to imitate the life previously occupying said spaces, beams of light soon tore them into pieces: Limbs, flesh, and ink-dark blood flying to and fro as they screeched trying in vain to continue their mission.

Underwater, the creatures tore into castles and pillars of history, bearing tentacles and maws wider than most Battle-Cruisers. Armies fought en-mass against them with a gray and white-bearded man at the lead, wielding a trident that had lost it's luster and most of it's previously vast amounts of power.

The Arctics were barren of all life: the wind howling in everlasting storms of snow and ice; the earth occasionally giving way to reveal blackened statues of frozen horrors across a landscape of ice and snow...

And through all this: most of the gods sat on their thrones, watching in fear as they believed nothing they could do would possibly stymie the doom befalling the Earth; The Universe...

The fighting lasted for weeks. With seemingly no end in sight and no cause to be found. Several species had given up on fighting, deciding to just hide and wait it out in hopes that all would be over soon, several of those planets died and were destroyed. Collapsing under some unknown force and ceasing to exist: No explosion, no light of its destruction, just a planet collapsing like a tornado of sand and disappearing.

The Guardians and the Avengers all thought that the fighting would never end. Day upon day of shifting duties between fighting, eating, and resting...

Annabeth and Wanda took turns defending the group of gods and demi-primordials under their shields while rocket continued to wreck havoc upon Stella. Her ship repairing itself an equal to greater amount for every scratch of damage he dealt...

...And then it all stopped. Every creature around the world stopped moving as a whole, like puppets cut from the master's strings. Then they all glowed white and popped, disappearing showers of sparkling lights and bright colors.

Finally got around to editing this chapter in preparations of writing the next; unfortunately ran out of time in the day to go about starting...

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Any mistakes and grammar shout-outs are appreciated.
