Part 6

Virgil's age: 17
Lyles age: 19
Amount of killings committed by Virgil: 405
Amount of killings committed by Lyle: 1054

Virgil and Lyle had just gotten into a fight. They were yelling insults at each other;
Failure
Stupid
Idiot
Worthless
mistake
Useless
Waste of space
Loner

Most had came from Lyle. Virgil yelled insults back at him. Lyle went too far when he hit Virgil across the face. Lyle had periods where he would snap out of being used the influence of Blake. These periods usually led to him getting into an argument with Virgil. This was the first time Lyle hit Virgil. His period ended when he hit Virgil. Virgil saw something in Lyles eyes change and tried to get away quickly, but Lyle Who was now stronger, grabbed his arm digging his nails into his skin drawing blood. Lyle hit Virgil a couple more times before smashing Virgil's head against the doorframe.
Virgil now laid on the floor blood pouring from his head lost consciousness. He was there for a couple of hours before someone found him. He was taken to the hospital wing. If he was anyone else he would've been left there to die but he was one of the best fighters so they needed him. And he rarely got wounded because he was small and quick. His head was bandaged and they left him there until he woke up.

Virgil woke up sunlight blinding him. His head bandages were taken off a couple of days before and his head was pounding. He had no memory of what happened or how he got there. He sat up and saw his fighting outfit on a chair at the end of the bed. Virgil sighed and got up and out then on before going outside and into the common area. When he entered the room everyone looked at him surprised, shocked that he was alive. Virgil ignored them and went over to the notice board to see what he had to do today. He looked down the list and saw his name.
Virgil: report to head office before 1 pm.
Virgil looked at his watch, it was 12:30 pm. Leaving the room he walked to the head office and knocked on the door. "Enter." A voice said from the other side of the door. Virgil entered and closed the door behind him. Sat at the desk in front of him was Blake. "I have a mission for you." Blake said sitting back in his chair. Virgil's hands balled up behind us back. He hated going on missions, but he knew what would happen if he refused.
This time last year his mother and sister were killed by Lyle right in front of him. His regret if not saying goodbye still weighed down on him. "You have to take down a gang leader," Blake said snapping Virgil out of his thoughts. Blake held out a file which Virgil took and flipped through it. Virgil saw that he needed to kill their biggest threat. "His name is Adrian Fray, most wanted gang leader around, known for murder, kidnapping, robbery and identity theft." Blake said with a sigh. "Kill him tonight, I'm giving you all day to train." Blake motioned to Virgil to leave. "Will I have backup?" Virgil asked making sure his panic and fear didn't show in his voice. Blake glared at him, "it won't be necessary if you do your job correctly." He replied coldly and Virgil left. Virgil made is way to the training room and picked a fight with a punching bag.

•••
Night came quicker than Virgil hoped and he stood in his room flipping up his hood. He was starving and he tried to concentrate on the mission ahead. It was a rule, you're not allowed to eat before a mission. Because of the time he woke up he missed breakfast and was training all through lunch. It was 6:00pm and everyone else was having food. The food was the only decent thing about the place. Virgil has a stash of food in his draw and if he was caught the punishment could leave him useless for a couple of days, or even weeks. Virgil shuddered at the thought and opened his draw. He looked to the bedroom door before taking a chocolate bar out and ate it quickly. It didn't help the hunger much but at least he had some extra energy. Virgil put two pistols in his jeans, extra bullets in his pocket and a knife pressing against his leg under his trousers. It was still fairly light out and he hoped he wouldn't get stopped and searched by police. Virgil had a reputation around the streets and among other gangs. He was stopped almost all of the time. He needed to save his energy and bullets. Especially tonight. He left the building and went to the garage and started up his motorcycle. It was black with a purple strip across it. He started it up and drove out and down the streets. He broke at least four laws driving to the location given. Luckily he didn't get stopped on the way there. He parked a couple of streets away and got off his motorcycle. Ducking into the shadows he made his way to a large building. Lights flashed in the upper floors but the first three were silent. He examined the area and when no one was around he slipped through an open window. He landed on the wooden floor without a noise and searched the first floor. He didn't see anyone who matched the description given if Adrian. Virgil walked upstairs. Someone walked past, and Virgil ducked into a spare room. No one was in the room luckily so Virgil decided to look around a bit. Unable to find a light switch he got out his phone light and used it as a light source. On the walls there were pictures of Virgil with possible locations and phone numbers scattered around. His personal information was in a messy pile on the table. He picked up the piece that was on top.
Name: Virgil
Location: unconfirmed
Gang: Unknown
Age: 17
Relatives:
Father- deceased
Mother- to be confirmed but most likely dead
Sibling/s: unconfirmed.

Virgil sighed. He heard a gun being loaded and something pressed against his head. "What a lovely surprise." Said a voice behind him. "Virgil himself. You've got quite a reputation. Almost competing against Lyle."
"Adrian." Virgil said not turning around.
"Oh so you know me." Adrian said.
"Yes." Virgil replied coldly. He turned around and saw Adrian, a 30 year old male with blue eyes and black hair, he wasn't much taller than Virgil but in heeled shoes made him look slightly taller. He was backed up by three other people who also had guns aimed at him. "Well this isn't fair now is it." Virgil said smiling. "No backup?" Adrian asked almost pitying the teenager in front of him. "I'm not privileged enough." Virgil shrugged. Adrian lowered his gun. "You're 17 right?" Adrian asked. Virgil nodded. His hand hovered over his gun at the side of him, sticking out of his jeans. Adrian looked sympathetic. "Don't try and pity me, you don't mean it." Virgil said pulling his gun out. "I know you don't want to do it." The leader said waving his hand so his backup lowered their guns as well. "You don't know me." Virgil half yelled is patience going away. "I do Virgil." He said, "I was your age once, I didn't want to do this."
"Stop it."  Virgil yelled. Tears pricked in his eyes, Adrian was right, he didn't want to do this, but he had to. "I need to do this." Virgil explained desperately. "I can't go back without you dead." Virgil pushed the gun up against Adrian's head. "I know, you don't have to go back," Adrian put his hand on the gun. "I have to..." Virgil snapped back to reality and stared into Adrian's eyes tightening his grip on the trigger. "You don't have to, you can walk from here, you can even stay here, we won't make you kill anyone. We'll protect you." Adrian said pushing the gun down. "No. I know what you're doing you manipulative bitch." Virgil swung his legs around and knocked Adrian off balance then shot him in the head. Virgil knew all guns were pointed at him. "You're leader is dead, you're no longer under his control, you can go home. Nothing can happen to you." He said wiping blood off his face. The three lowered their guns. "We have no where to go." One said quietly. "Neither, anyway I doubt you payed rent for this place." Virgil walked past them. He looked back to see all three stood there, they dropped there guns and sat on the floor. Virgil continued downstairs quickly knowing what he had done would wear off quickly. He was down the stairs and almost out of the window when he heard someone yell and shoot their gun. "Shit" Virgil said to himself and jumped from the window and ran to his motorbike. He could hear sirens off in the distance and sped off.
He was almost back at the base when he was cut off by a police car swerving in front of him. He slammed to a stop. Three police officers got out of the car. Virgil saw tape across the road so if he tried to drive off his tires would get punctured. He looked around. He was quickly being surrounded. His anxiety rose. He freaked out and jumped off his bike and ran. He reached a dead end in an alley. He could hear the police gaining and he jumped the wall with ease. He was light and strong so parkour was easy for him, plus he had excessive training on it. He landed in someone's back garden and a dog barked. Virgil yelped and jumped another wall landing under streetlights. He ducked out of view and sprinted down the now dark streets. Catching his breath in the shadows he saw two police cars driving ready to cut him off. He decided that it would best if he was caught without weapons. Virgil sprinted to a nearby forest and ran deep into them. He disposed one gun in a high tree after rubbing away his DNA from it. He did this with the others guns and knife. He ran back into the direction of the base. He was nearly caught twice but ran in quickly and ran to his room pulling the alarm notifying the others police were near. Everyone sprang into action turning off all lights and hiding the weapons and other things such as drugs that would get them arrested. Everyone went into their hiding spots. Virgil's was in the attic in a hidden hole that, if he needed to, could escape to the roof.
The building went silent. The alarm had shut off and no one made a noise. Virgil's hiding spot was far from the others. Virgil could hear shouts from downstairs and froze. They had been found. Some had obviously put up a fight. Virgil curled up in his hiding spots. Ten minutes later he heard footsteps coming up to the attic. Virgil made his way to the escape when the attic door opened with a creak. Virgil's breathing stopped and he shrank into the shadows. The footsteps continued around the small attic room. The sound stopped in front of the hiding place door. A creak was heard as the person on the other side crouched down. Virgil fumbled silently with the lock to the escape window unlocking it silently. He wished the door had a lock too so he could but himself more time. He opened the window and stood up as much as the low roof would let him. He pushed himself up and onto the roof. The cold air hit his face. He noticed about ten police cars and at least two police vans surrounding the building. Someone grabbed Virgil's leg and pulled him down. Virgil's head smacked the roof then the floor. He looked up and saw a police officer. A kind looking lady who's expression changed from mean to sympathy when she was Virgil. He froze when he saw her. He looked back at the window then at her again. He could run. He could feel blood falling down his face where he hit it. His face was still bruised from his fight with Lyle. Panic came across him and he moved away slightly. She looked at him frozen. It was like she didn't know what to do. She recognised him. "Is anything up there?" Someone called from outside. The police officer snapped back to reality. "Uh..." she looked at Virgil who was mid panic attack. "No, just empty boxes." She said moving away from Virgil and out of the hiding spot. She closed the door leaving Virgil alone in darkness once more.
