Yoongi's POV-
"Fucking Irene." I curse as I pace across the living room. "Haven't been here in days yet the second we pull up she's right fucking behind us."
"How could she have possibly known you were here?" Minho speaks lowly from the dining table.
"I'm going to guess that she was told we were leaving the base today." I say, letting out a frustrated groan.
"How is that possible? Not even the General knew you were going to be leaving today for sure until you three met with him. Then, within an hour of meeting with him, everything was arranged and you left. It all happened so fast. How could the news get to her that quickly?"
His voice sounds annoyingly calm. Like he is asking questions to simply keep the conversation going.
I don't think he realizes these are actually important, legitimate questions that need to be answered as soon as possible.
Does he have any idea what he is in for? Who we are up against?
"Did the General or Hyuk give you any sort of background on who we are dealing with?" Yeol asks, voicing the exact question I was about to.
Minho stops digging through his bag to turn and look between Yeol and I. "They gave me a briefing. I only offered to help this morning so I don't have all the information. Just the important things."
I look at Minho with a perplexed expression, flashing my eyes briefly to meet Yeol's before looking back at him. "You offered? As in, volunteered?"
"You volunteered to do this?" Yeol questions, brows nearly at his hairline with surprise.
He nods. "That's correct. General Kang was getting some soldiers together to accompany you back to the city as well as stay with you indefinitely until we are called back to the base. I told him I could be of service."
"Why would you do that?" I ask skeptically, crossing my arms over my chest. "What's in this for you?"
"Would you rather not have the help." He says with a breathy chuckle.
"That's not it." Yeol says, turning his body in Minho's direction from the couch. "For someone to willingly offer to take on the force of nature that is Irene doesn't quite make sense. It makes me wonder if you were either not given all of the facts about what's happened or if you are just that confident in your own abilities."
"What I was told as well as what I've been sent as far as information to review were deemed as need to know information. I gathered a few pieces of information on my own as well as heard a thing or two from others, but if either of you would be happy to fill me in on whatever may have not been included in my briefing it would be much appreciated." Minho says with a quirked brow, locking eyes with Yeol.
The two engage in some sort of staring match while the room is mostly silent, the only sounds being the barely audible singing coming from my bedroom where Taehyung and Kook are, Taehyung being the one singing.
We were all a little surprised at how relatively calm Taehyung was after being shoved into the elevator by that girl, but his reaction was not nearly as surprising as Kook's.
I don't know if it was just the fruition of his talk with his Grandfather this morning and then our last encounter with his mother before we left all coming to a head, but as soon as those elevator doors closed and we started going up, he broke down.
Now Taehyung is holding him while singing the lullaby.
"Listen," Yeol says, breaking the silence but not the eye contact. "I don't mean this in any sort of offensive way, and I can't speak for Yoongi, but I don't know you well enough to trust you. If you knew the full scope of what Yoongi and Jungkook have gone through because of her, how many times we have been double crossed by people we have had no reason to distrust, you would understand why I'm hesitant to accept that you just volunteered to be a part of this."
"Then please explain the full scope of what's happened to me." Minho says before turning back to his bag to continue unpacking it. "The more information I have the better prepared I will be to do my job. To protect them."
"Why don't you make your call to the realtor, Yoongs." Yeol suggests, rubbing his eyes with the palms of his hands in exasperation. "I'll 'explain the full scope' to him."
"That's probably a good idea." Minho says as he gets a laptop pulled out of the bag and set down on the table. "The sooner we can get housing accommodations in place the sooner we can get you all out of here."
That's a fair point. The quicker we can get Kook and Taehyung out of the city where they might not have to be so stressed the better.
"Alright," I say with a nod, taking my phone out of my pocket to begin scrolling through my contacts.
"I have the cellphone the General sent for you." Minho says as he begins digging through the front pocket in his bag again. "Just let me find it..."
While he looks for the cellphone I continue scrolling for the number but can't seem to find it anywhere in my contact list.
I avert my eyes away from the screen, staring nowhere in particular as I try to think where I would have the number saved.
When I think I recall having her card saved, I start walking towards my studio.
"Where are you going?" Yeol asks as he stands up from the couch.
"I don't have the number saved in my phone but I'm pretty sure I have a business card."
He gives me a questioning look before he asks, "Isn't the realtor-"
"Chungha." I finish for him. "Yes."
His brow raises skeptically. "You don't have her number saved?"
"Not her work number. Just her cell and I can't call her on that line about this. You know how she is. She takes her job very seriously... which is both annoying and admirable." I mutter as I walk around the corner to my studio.
"I'll be right back." I say as I continue to the studio.
Not long after I've stepped inside I hear the studio door open and shut behind me.
I turn around to see Yeol with a questioning look as he turns a black flip phone over in his hands as he examines it.
"I wasn't going to be away for long. I was just going to get the number then head back out to get the phone to make the call. Speaking of, is that it?" I ask as I walk towards him.
"Yes. I came to bring it to you so you could call..." He trails off before looking at me. "This doesn't look like the phone I've seen Mrs Jeon, Hyuk or Hi using."
I reach my hand out for the phone. "Maybe it's just a newer version."
"All three of them have the exact same phone. Even the one Jinyoung had with him was like theirs. Why would this one for you be different?" He says as he waves the phone that's still in his hand.
We stand in silence as we both ponder his rhetorical question before he follows up with another. "What if Irene was tipped off? That she really was told we were leaving and that's how she knew to show up when she did. Or maybe she tracked us using GPS."
I tilt my head as I consider what he's saying when he juggles the phone into one hand while reaching into his pocket with the other.
"Use mine instead." He stretches his phone out to me to take once it's been pulled out of his pocket.
"I don't like that this phone is inexplicably different than what the others use and I don't trust Minho. Not yet. I'll reach out to Hyuk and confirm that this phone is clear to use... I also want to talk to him about Minho. I can't seem to get a good read on him... For now, use my phone." He says, nodding towards the device.
"If I'm not going to use an untraceable phone I might as well just use my own." I sigh before running my tongue across my teeth. "I know you're usually right about things, but I really fucking hope you're wrong about this."
"Me too." He mumbles.
"Wait, you can't get a read on Minho?"
This surprises me because Yeol is usually a quick and fairly accurate judge of character. It's unusual for him to meet someone and not know within the first few minutes of a conversation if they are genuine and good natured or not.
He purses his lips tightly as he looks at me. "No, not really. We had very limited conversation on the drive here and I haven't spent more than a few minutes with him before today.
"It was probably just because so many other things were happening at the base, but I didn't really pay attention to him while we were there. Granted, I let my guard down more than I should have while we were there as well when it came to picking out who may or may not be working against us."
"Which is understandable." I shrug. "We didn't have a reason to think that the General's soldiers had any reason to go against Kook on behalf of her. That would pretty much be like them going against the General himself if they did."
"Exactly. But now we're realizing he asked to be a part of this? I don't trust that. He is a guy we know basically nothing about yet he essentially has the most important job as well as the most access to us. And he will be the front line of defense between us and her. We need to know without a doubt that he isn't going to let her get to you or Jungkook because he's secretly one of her guys."
I hum agreement as I nod my head. "How about you two get whatever information he was sent pulled up and you can start looking it over while I make this call. It shouldn't take long, I'll come out and talk to you both when I'm done."
"Sounds good." He nods shortly, his expression still showing apprehension, before leaving the room.
Once he's gone I walk to my desk, set my phone down on my notebook that's laying there before I walk over to my bookshelf in the corner.
I immediately go to the small, unassuming wooden box I have set on one of the higher shelves.
It doesn't look like anything special, but it holds a collection of very prestigious individual as well as company business cards and slips of paper where numbers and addresses have been scribbled down.
I take the box off the shelf, walking it back over to my desk so I can sift through it. After a few beats of searching I find the matte black card I'm looking for.
I click my tongue as I turn the card in my fingers so it is right side up and the number is legible. I then grab my phone and place the call.
It's pretty late in the day, definitely long after any normal business hours, but she is always reachable.
After just a few rings she picks up.
"Good evening, may I ask who's calling?" She answers professionally.
"This is Min Yoongi."
She falls silent after letting out an amused sounding hum. I can picture the smirk I know she's dawning as she answers in a more relaxed tone. "Could you please be more specific."
I let out a breathy scoff. "More specific than my name?"
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience sir, but it sounds like you may have called the wrong number." She says in an innocent enough sounding tone, but I know better. She's teasing me.
"Brat." I mumble as I walk over to the small couch to take a seat. "This is Yoongi Min."
She begins to giggle in her cutesy way and the sound immediately brightens my mood, but also distracts me from my reason for calling, so I pull my attention back on topic as I continue.
"I'm in the market to make a purchase."
"Marvelous. Are you wanting beachfront, countryside, residential, business use, rental property, vacation home or what are you in the market for?"
I pause. "The discretion with your clientele hasn't changed I assume?"
"No it has not. We maintain complete identity security with our clients. And this is also a secure line. All conversations are kept between you and I." She answers in a clear and absolute tone.
"Great." I sigh as I lean back into the couch, stretching my free arm across the back of it. "Last time we spoke you had shown me a few available properties near Biseulsan. This is the specific area I was looking at."
"Biseulsan." She repeats. "If I remember correctly, the last time we spoke about any availabilities there, you called those homes overpriced and over the top."
"At that time they were, but my interests have changed since. Are the options currently available of the same caliber?"
"Those exact addresses we had spoken about years ago aren't among the available options I believe we have now."
"But there are options." I clarify.
"Off the top of my head... there are two. Possibly a third, but I'll have to get into my laptop to see for sure and I'm not home right now."
I let out a sigh of relief. "As long as there are options that's great news."
"That's good to hear. The two that come to mind are very nice, but they are a bit... niche, to put it mildly. One of them you might be interested but the other... I doubt you'll consider. I'll still send you the info of course though. Maybe you'll surprise me."
"You're confident that you know me well enough to know I will like one over the other." I smirk.
"Of course I do! I've known you for a fair amount of time. You're perfect home would consist of a kitchen, a bedroom, bathroom, living room and a spare room for a studio. Other than that, the rest is basically wasted space. And I assure you, these properties have a lot of space. One is practically a hotel and the other is a bit more modest, but still more extravagant than one would picture a home in a forest to be."
"Either way, send me any info you've got if you will. Honestly, I do have certain needs I'd like met, but I'm not going to be as picky."
"I should be home within the hour. I will send over what I have as soon as I get there. Is it the same email I've sent things to in the past?"
"Yeah that'd be the one."
"Okay. Keep an eye out for that and give me a call or email me back if you have any other questions or need more information."
"Thank you, Kim." I say with a lazy smile.
"My pleasure, Min." She chimes back happily.
I end the call, tossing the phone onto the couch next to me.
Hopefully this will work out. I'm interested to see what she has that's available because when she was first telling me about these places in Deagu, and this was two years ago so who knows if the same types of estates are available now. what she had available was too much for what I was wanting.
Too much house for me to have as a place to stay at not only with just myself but even with my close friends. Too much unnecessary additions and features. Too much yard space. Just, too much.
Now though, unless I'm overthinking this, I am under the impression that Kook and Taehyung are going to need a place large enough where they won't get bored.
That we can fill with things for them to do to keep them content when they may be cooped up for however long.
I don't know what the security will be like or exactly how much of a threat we are preparing for, but I don't think they will be able to just go out and shop, go to an arcade or movie theater whenever they desire. Which is unfortunate, but that's our reality right now.
I need to speak to the General a little more about pricing when I present the plans and specs on the properties to him, but I'm not going to skimp on this. I have the means to do whatever possible to make these two happy and I fully plan on doing so.
As I begin to make a mental list on what kind of things the two would most likely enjoy to have available to them, I hear a knock on the door.
I stand up from the couch, make my way to the door and open it to see two very unhappy men staring back at me.
Yeol is standing in front of Minho looking unhappy and annoyed while Minho just looks unhappy.
"I was starting to get a bit, heated, and I thought it would be best if we came in here to not disturb Jungkook and Tae."
"Alright," I nod as I step aside for them to come in.
They both walk to the couch, taking a seat side by side. Minho has his laptop in his hands but once they are seated he sets it on the coffee table before sliding it over so that it is in front of Yeol.
"Are they asleep then? Is that why you think you'll disturb them?" I ask, walking back over to my desk.
"I'm not sure. Want to go check?" Yeol asks with a yawn, not taking his eyes off of the computer screen.
My eyes soften as I look him over more closely than I have since we've been here.
He's exhausted. He'd never admit to it, definitely not complain about it, but he's exhausted. Both mentally and physically.
"Yeol, go lay down in Kook's old room and get some sleep. I can go over this stuff with Minho."
"You sure?" He asks, looking up from the monitor to meet my eyes.
"Of course. I've got to stay up and wait for Chungha to email the specs on the available properties anyway. I'm perfectly capable of doing this. Go get some rest. Please."
I see his shoulders noticeably relax before he stands up from the couch. "Okay, but if anything comes up-"
I wave my hand in the air to stop him. "Nothing will come up. Even if it does, it can easily wait until the morning. Just prop the door open on your way out and go get some sleep."
"Okay. Good night then. Don't stay up too late." He say with another yawn as he walks out of the room.
After he's left I walk to the couch and take a seat next to Minho as he begins clicking around different applications on his laptop which is now back in front of him, before pulling up a PDF document then sliding the laptop back over in front of me.
"This is the first of the information I was provided."
As I start reading through the outline I don't get very far into the body of the document before I start scoffing to myself as I get increasingly annoyed.
The amount of watering down they did with everything, such as referring to Kook's staged suicide as Physical Attack Number One then later referring to the changing out of his blood pressure medication as Psychological Attack Number Two (attack number one being used to collectively label the gifts she had sent him) is infuriating.
No wonder Minho was behaving so casually earlier, brushing off that Irene showing up today may just be a coincidence.
Additionally, no wonder Yeol was becoming upset when he was reading this.
The lack of detail is ridiculous and I'm about to fill him in on as much as I can fit in before we pass out from fatigue, but stop myself as a thought occurs to me.
We don't know if we can trust him yet. I can't just go spill everything that we know, how we came to know it as well as what our plan of action is on our end.
He could just as easily turn around and tell all of that to Irene. I can't risk that because Yeol is right. We know nothing about Minho despite him being a soldier who would keep Kook from getting lost at the base and inexplicably volunteered to take on Irene.
So instead of saying anything, I just continue to read while cringing and scoffing to myself.
When I feel him begin to shift in his seat after a minute or two of silence I glance up to see him rolling his neck with his eyes closed. He's tired.
"Do you know where you'll be staying tonight?" I ask as I scroll down a bit on the page.
"O-oh. I was- I thought I'd just stay here."
I raise my brow at his presumption as he goes on to explain.
"I wasn't going to sleep tonight. There was already going to be a lot for me to go over as it is, then with her showing up as soon as we got here, it made all of that even more urgent. I wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping until I at least get some kind of security plan put into place for my guys."
"Where are your guys anyway." I mumble before letting out a small yawn.
"They are stationed around the building outside as well as inside. There are two on the floor those girls live on, one outside your door and another walking around the hall on this floor. Then a few others patrolling a little more casually around the building."
"Casually." I snort.
"Casually just in the sense that they don't have a set route mapped out for them. They are still on guard for anything suspicious, but we don't have set posts and details outlined for my guys yet. Actually, speaking of details, did you get ahold of your realtor contact for the specs on where we might be leaving to?"
"Ah, yes I did." I reach for my pocket, wanting to get my phone to check my email inbox when I remember I tossed the phone onto the couch earlier when I was done with the call.
I was sitting where Minho is sitting now prior to he and Yeol showing up so I assume my phone is on his other side.
"She will be emailing me the info anytime now. I can check my inbox to see if I've gotten anything, but I think my phone is on the couch by you. Could you hand it to me?"
He turns towards the spot on the couch next to him, retrieves the device and hands it to me.
I quickly unlock the phone and get the app open. I don't see an email from her at the top of the page and as I am about to check the junk folder my phone begins to ring. Recognizing Chungha's number, I answer.
"Yes."
"Hey, I'm having trouble getting the files to attach. I've tried multiple times but the emails keep failing."
"Do you want to try a different email?"
"I don't know if it's an issue with the email. I think it's my computer." She clicks her tongue in annoyance. "Um, are you in the city currently? Or will you be tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'm here." I answer, fighting back a yawn.
"Would we be able to meet tomorrow? We could meet at the company if you'd be comfortable with that. I wouldn't mind getting to visit my sunshine Hobi." She giggles.
"I'm sure he would love to see you too." I chuckle. "The morning would probably be the best. When would be the earliest you could meet?"
"My God, are you on the run from the cops or something? Why the rush." She chuckles, thinking she is making some off hand joke when really she's not too far off.
We are on the run, just not from the cops.
"How about eight. Would that work?"
"That sounds good to me. I'll be there. I'll try to check with Hobi as well to see if he'll be in. He doesn't usually go in that early if he doesn't have to."
"I'll reach out to him. I told him months ago that the next time I was in the city I would tell him so we can meet up. Anyway, it's getting pretty late so I'll let you go. See you tomorrow!"
"Bye." I smile crookedly as I end the call.
I set my phone down on the table next to the laptop as I go back to reading. The room remains in silence as I keep my eyes on the laptop and Minho keeps his eyes trained on me.
I keep reading more of the annoyingly summarized series of events, my annoyance gradually growing.
"You don't like how they glossed over what she did." Minho voices suddenly.
I snap my eyes in his direction to meet his. "You know what happened to him?"
He sighs as he nods. "Enough to know that the limited details they do provide are vague as hell."
I lean back in my seat, keeping my eyes trained on him. "How do you know what happened."
"As soon as the General sent the group of soldiers to deliver the cease and desist letter to Irene, possible reasons for why that letter had been ordered spread around the base quickly. The rumors were extremely varied, but they all had something in common. She ordered an attack on the General's only Grandson.
"I knew enough about what happened, or at least had heard enough theories about it, to Jungkook to feel pity for him. Just like any other human being would. Then when I was actually assigned to be the one to show him around the base and I got to meet him, I felt even worse for him. He wouldn't hurt anyone.
"I don't know the details of... What was the terrible wording they used?" He purses his lips as he tries to recall. "Physical Attack Number One," He repeats with a disapproving tone. "I don't know everything that happened or what led up to that, but I know that him being hurt in any capacity is unjustifiable. And the perpetrator needs to answer for it."
He lets out a deep breath. "I know you and Chanyeol don't trust me, and the details as far as betrayals and things that he alluded to happening are missed by me, but I hope I can prove to you that I can be trusted. That we're on the same side."
"It's nothing personal. I hope you know that. We just can't be too careful." I sigh as I lean forward in my seat again to get closer to the laptop. "Okay, let me get back to reading these offensively worded doc-"
We both freeze when we hear a crash come from somewhere in the apartment.
"What fuck was that?!" I hiss, looking nervously at Minho before standing up.
"I'm not sure... it sounded like glass breaking." Minho whispers as he stands as well, reaching for his hip to retrieve a hand gun that had been clipped into a hidden holster.
He draws the gun and begins slowly making his way to the door with me close behind.
Yeol did as I had asked and left the door propped open, so we are able to sneak around the corner silently without having to worry about the sound of the door opening directing any intruder's attention to us. (Not that the light streaming through the open doorway wouldn't have done that anyway.)
I hold my breath as we walk around the corner to be able to see across the living room to the dining area and the kitchen.
The city lights that are peaking through the spaces in the curtains are just bright enough to offer enough light to see outlines and shapes of the things around the room as well as the silhouette of whoever is standing in my kitchen.
I gasp quietly when the figure turns towards our direction.
I subconsciously lean forward, straining my eyes as I pray that this shadow that does look to be much taller than me turns out to be either Kook or Taehyung.
"Hyung?" A deep, gently raised voice calls.
"Thank God." I exhale with relief, relaxing my body as I look at Minho. "It's just Taehyung."
"Taehyung, what happened? We heard a crash." I ask, voice sounding concerned as I walk quickly across that living room to him.
"Well, the bad news is I broke a glass." He chuckles. "The good news is that it slipped out of my hand as I was trying to put it in the sink, so all the glass is in a contained space rather than being scattered all over."
I switch on the brighter lights overhead and round the kitchen island. "You didn't get hurt did you?"
"No, I don't think so... but I also can't bring myself to look at my hands... if there is blood I don't want to see it." He says as he keeps his eyes on me.
I nod as I continue to him with my hands outstretched. He places his hand in mine and as I look them over delicately I am relieved to see that there don't appear to be any cuts or
scratches anywhere.
"You have to be more careful. You're lucky you didn't slice your finger." I scold quietly, moving my eyes from his hands to the sink where I see the sharp pieces of glass settled at the bottom.
He doesn't say anything, instead beginning to giggle. I look up at him, confused by the reaction.
"Sorry." He grins as he looks at me. "It's just very strange to see you like this. I'm still not used to it."
"Did we really fight that much that you think I'm just some heartless prick." I ask to which he nods his head quickly.
"Not to bring up the past, but you were an asshole ninety-five percent of the time."
I let out a groan with an eye roll and am about to tell him that I'm sorry for what will be at least the thousandth time, but he tightens his grip on my hands as he continues looking at me with a genuine smile.
"Stop apologizing. I forgave you already."
After his speaks his eyes leave mine to look over my shoulder, his smile dropping slightly as he does so. I follow his gaze to see Minho walking to the front door.
Once there he gets the door unlocked, opening it to reveal a soldier outside in the hall.
"Subtle." Taehyung sighs with an unimpressed expression. "I bet that means that all of the soldiers walking around the building are all in full uniform as well."
"Probably- Wait," I turn my attention back to him. "How do you know about the soldiers walking around?"
"I could hear Minho and Chan talking before they went into your studio."
"You could hear them from my room? They were that loud?"
"Koo and I were in his old room, not yours. Although, I don't think it would have mattered if we were in your room or not. We would have probably been able to hear them regardless."
"Why weren't you in my room?"
"I didn't want to go lay in the same bed you two had sex in!" He scoffs, nose scrunched in disgust.
I choke on my saliva momentarily as I stare at him wide eyed before gasping. "Wha- How-"
"You already know how I know that, Hyung." He laughs as he rolls his eyes playfully. "We tell each other everything. And before you get too mad at Koo, he didn't give any details. He didn't even actually come out and say 'Hey guys, Yoongi and I fucked.' It was insinuated and Koo not denying it let Chim and I know that it happened without us having to actually ask for clarification."
"Jimin knows?!" I gasp, knowing full well I am slowly turning the shade of a tomato.
If that little shit knows I wonder how long it's been since he found out. I can't imagine he would hold on to this knowledge for very long before teasing and pestering me about it endlessly.
"Yeah. We tell each other everything."
"Oh my God." I groan as I feel my cheeks heat up. I'm probably the shade of tomatoes by now.
I quickly drop his hands that I didn't realize I was still holding before stalking back towards the living room.
"Switching topics... I'd like to take a look at what they deemed essential details for Minho to know." He calls after me as he follows me to the couch. "I'm probably the only other person besides Mrs Jeon and maybe Hyuk who knows what's been happening from our side as well as the military's side."
I turn to look at him with a perplexed expression as I drop myself onto the couch.
"Mrs Jeon and I spoke nearly everyday," He says in a lowered voice as his expression falls. "She would keep me up to date on what she and Hyuk were working on and I would tell her what myself or Chan had found.
He takes a seat on the couch next to me, leaning back against the cushion with his arms crossed and pouted lips.
"I'm not doubting that you know more than Yeol and I, if that's what you think. I'm just trying to figure out why I didn't think to have you take a look at what they gave Minho earlier."
"Oh... okay." He exhales, looking a little less upset.
I study his expression for a few moments before we hear the front door open and shut before the sound of the locks ticking.
Shortly after Minho comes back into the room, looking down at both of us. He then directs his attention to Taehyung. "Were you hurt?"
"No." He answers shortly as he studies Minho.
"That's good." Minho nods before looking at me. "Did you want to keep looking at the outlines?"
"Yes and Taehyung would like to take a look as well."
Minho looks confused at the statement as he tilts his head and asks, "Is that necessary? I was under the impression that you and Chanyeol would be the best ones to get details from."
I let out an amused laugh. "Now I really know that you don't know the details about what you've gotten yourself into." I smile as I look over at Taehyung. "We wouldn't even be in the position we are now, be as close to ending this bullshit with Irene as we are, if it weren't for Taehyung. Aside from Hyuk, Mrs Jeon and the General himself, he is the only other person that knows the ins and outs of everything that has gone on."
"Oh. I see." He says quietly before turning to Taehyung. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean any offense, I just wasn't aware of you being a key roll in what's happened."
"He's been the centerpiece of all of this. We would be nowhere if it weren't for him. So, I'll go get your laptop from my studio and he and I can both take a look at the documents."
"Sounds good." Minho says. I look to Taehyung for approval of the plan and he nods at me with shining eyes and a big smile.
"Thank you Hyung."
"Okay, I'll be right back." I smile before standing up to retrieve the laptop.
Once I'm back on the couch, Taehyung moves to sit closer beside me while Minho sits on one of the armchairs across from us.
I scroll back up to the top of the page and give the computer over to Taehyung so he can get a better look.
Not long after handing him the computer I start to hear quiet scoffs of disapproval as well as mumbled cursing before he finally gets to the first bullet point on the document I knew he'd be especially unhappy with.
"Psychological Attack Number One?" He gasps in offense under his breath, looking over at me.
"I know." I tilt my head with a click of my tongue. "I had the same reaction."
"Do you know how much we are willing to share with him? We don't really know him so I assume we aren't just going to come out with all our secrets, right." He utters just loud enough for me to hear while continuing to look at the screen.
"I was going to wait to talk to Yeol-" I stop myself from continuing with that thought before pivoting my train of thought. "Actually, why don't you and I look through the rest of this and then I'll let you decide what you think is safe to share."
He turns to me with a small smile. "Will Chan mind?"
I shake my head. "I don't think so. He might even feel more comfortable if you decided what we should and shouldn't share. You're the smartest one out of all of us after all, Taehyung. Our little mastermind."
I feel my heart swell in my chest when his smile widens and that mischievous spark returns to his eyes as he nods happily.
"Okay. Let's read over everything and then we'll go from there."
I return his smile as we direct our attention back to the computer.
Several seconds later he lets out another exasperated groan as he reads aloud, "Physical Attack Number One. Oh my God, this is going to be a long night."
"Maybe, but we should try to get at least a little sleep at some point. We have to meet with the realtor at eight."
"The realtor?"
"We are going to meet her at the company so we can look at the houses they have available."
"I heard you say her name earlier. Changha, was it?"
"That's her. She's a friend of mine and Hobi's."
He giggles before looking at me with a smirk. "Hobi's friend... Of course."
I lean away from him as I study his knowing smirk closely. "Why did you say it like that."
"Nothing Hyung let's just-" He stops mid sentence as his eyes get stuck on something on the screen.
"Who wrote this?!" He growls, pointing at the bullet point in question. "Psychological Attack Number Two? She bribed a fucking nurse to change out a prescription to suppressing his fucking memory! Doesn't that deserve a little more of an introduction than that?!"
I look back at the monitor to see that he is about to the same spot I was before I stopped reading.
"None of what I've read tells him anything of use. It gives almost no context to what has happened."
"I know." I sigh.
He huffs, pouting out his lips before he moves his eyes to Minho. He stares at him for a few silent seconds before taking a deep breath. "You have no idea what you got yourself into."
