Jealous
Jungkook's POV-
My eyes were glued on Tae and Jimin since the second Jimin took my phone. Tae didn't talk for very long before he handed my phone back to him and rushed out the door.
I watch as Jimin puts the phone back to his ear while he walks to our table slowly, nodding at whatever Yoongi is saying.
When he finally makes it back to the table he hands my phone back.
"Hello?"
"Hey, sorry about that. I have been trying to get ahold of Taehyung. I didn't know he was with you. Anyway, how are you feeling?"
"I feel okay. I was fine this morning too. Just a little pounding. It wasn't that bad."
"Kook, please don't lie. You're aloud to be hurt. I want to know when you don't feel well. I need to know."
Sometimes I think he is too good for me. My lip starts to quiver as a thought comes to mind. This poor man has been through so much pain with me. Because of me.
I know that when I'm sad or when I hurt it effects him too. He deserves someone better. Like Tae.
Tae's easy to love. Everybody loves him.
"Is it hard to love me?"
"Of course not! I've never fallen for someone so easily. Being with you feels so natural to me. Why did that question even come to mind?"
"Why do some people seem to get back and give love so easily? And why can't I be like that?"
"... Kook, are you okay? Is Jimin there?"
"Yeah he's here. Tae's not. Did- did he leave to see you?"
"Yes. He- I need his help with something here. I was hoping to leave soon but I might be here later than I'd like. I already asked Jimin and he said he will stay with you until I am back."
"Will you be with Tae the whole time?"
"Probably."
My stomach drops a little when he says that. Why do I feel like this?
"Okay, I'll see you later. I love you."
"I love you too."
I lower the phone and set it on the table.
I scowl down at my lap for a few seconds before I move them up to Jimin, who is scowling deeply at his empty plate in front of him.
"Oh don't pout. I will order you another plate."
"I wasn't even gone for very long. How did you eat all of that so fast?"
"You've seen me eat." I retort with a straight face.
His scowl turns into a smile as he continues to look at me and he chuckles while he shakes his head.
He continues to look at my face before he says, "You stress eat when you have a lot on your mind. Care to share?"
I run my tongue across the inside of my cheek as I shrug. "I don't even know why I'm annoyed. I just am."
"Well, what do you remember happening that made you annoyed?"
I look up at the ceiling as I think to myself whats happened.
"I've been annoyed since we got here. First Tae left and then never came back, then Yoongi called and in the middle of talking asked to talk to you. Then he wanted Tae and Tae just left without even saying bye. Now he is going to go see Yoongi at work while I go back to the apartment and wait." I pout to myself.
I remember when it was just the three of us. They were always more popular in school, but it was always the three of us. Now we are hardly ever together at the same time.
Tae is always off doing something, Jimin has Hoseok, so it's just me and Yoongi. Not that I mind being with him, but I miss my friends. I miss how it used to be. Why do things have to change? Why did everything have to turn out the way it has? I sigh as I let my shoulders slump.
"He actually did tell me to tell you bye. And that he was sorry."
I jump a little when I hear Jimin speak.
I look over at him with my brows furrowed in confusion, "Who?"
"What do you mean who. Tae! You just said his name like ten times. It sounds like he's the one you're annoyed with."
I widen my eyes in surprise. "Did I say all of that out loud?"
"Yes?"
What the hell? I don't even know what just happened. Suddenly I notice a faint ringing in my right ear.
I bring my hand up to cover my ear absentmindedly as I say, "I was just thinking about how I felt, then I said it all out loud? Without even knowing?"
He moves his eyes over my face, looking closely at me.
"We should go. They are probably going to start kicking people out soon anyway."
He reaches for his wallet and takes some cash out before he puts it in the table.
I look at the bills that are spread in front of him. "I know I'm not the best at math, but that looks like it's too much."
"It's fine. The guy was nice."
I look up at him with a confused expression. "Our server was a girl."
"Good customer service is good customer service no matter the gender." He giggles as he stands up from his seat and takes his jacket off of the back of his chair and puts it back on.
I stand up as well and shrug my jacket back on when I notice that Tae's jacket is still thrown over the back of his chair. I let out another sigh as I reach for the jacket before tucking it under my arm.
"We can talk more on the walk back to your place. It's not too cold." Jimin says as he hooks my free arm in his.
We walk out of the front doors and as soon as the evening air hits us we both shiver.
As we walk down the sidewalk, huddled together to keep warm, we giggle and laugh like we always do. Even though we were cold the walk didn't feel long at all. As we were waiting for the elevator still laughing Jimin looks over at me with a bright eye smile.
"I feel very lucky to have you as my friend Kookie. You've been with me when no one else was. Thank you."
I smile back at him. "You've always been there for me too. I can always count on you to make me feel better."
"Tae may be my soulmate Jungkookie, but you're my best friend."
I smile at his words before I take a deep breath. "Jimin, I think I know why I was annoyed earlier."
"Okay..." He says as he waits for me to continue.
"I'm jealous."
.......
I'm sat on the couch with Jimin as he lays with his head on my lap, talking through what I've been feeling today.
"Okay, so tell me one more time what you think."
"From what you've said, and I could be wrong, it sounds like you aren't jealous of Tae spending time with other people. Like how he gets jealous when we hang out with people or make a new friends, but you don't like the thought of seeing him with other people.
"It doesn't sound like you think of other people, like the ones he ran into today, as romantic threats though. Just threats to taking his attention away from you. But again, I could be wrong." He sighs.
"No, it kind of makes sense. I still don't understand why I would be upset today though. I've never been jealous in the past."
"Do you get jealous when Yoongi spends time with people?"
Now that I think about it, I don't think I do. Chanyeol is super handsome and Yoongi even said once that there was a time when Chanyeol liked him, but even then I didn't feel like I did today when he said Tae would be going to his work to help him.
Then I realize something. "Jimin, I think you might be right. I don't think I'm jealous of Yoongi spending time with Tae. I think I don't like Tae spending time with Yoongi."
He hums in response as he furrows his brow and looks ahead of him at the ceiling. Suddenly he sits up and looks at me.
"Does it have anything to do with what Tae said earlier? About you sleeping with Yoongi before he could?"
My eyes widen. "Maybe. That was weird right?"
"Yeah, I don't know why he said that. It was an odd thing to say in general, but especially to you."
Then I realize something else. "Tae can literally have anyone he wants. Everyone loves him. Everyone falls for him."
I raise my eyes from where they've been staring aimlessly passed him to meet his. "Do you think Yoongi would fall for him too?"
Taehyung's POV-
I extend my hand out and knock on the door before I am even fully standing in front of it. It opens quickly and he lets me in.
"Where's your phone?"
He turns away from me to walk to his desk where he picks up the device, unlocks it and gives it to me.
I scroll through his call log and see the same number over and over and over.
"I was hoping you might know what this is about. The girl that came said your name too."
"Oh yeah. The girl." I repeat as I reach into my pocket for my phone and go to my photo gallery.
I scroll to the picture I'm looking for and turn my phone so Yoongi can see it.
"Is this her?" I ask as I show him the picture of Yeri and me.
He looks at the picture with furrowed brows before he looks up with me. "I don't know."
"What do you mean? Was it her or not?"
"I'm terrible with faces. I don't know if that was her. I know she was young and that girl looks young but other than that I don't remember."
"You seriously don't know if this is her?"
He shakes his head. "Sorry. What about the phone number? Do you know it?"
"No. Not off the top of my head at least." I say as I type the number into my phone to see if it happens to match anyone in my contacts.
Nope. Nothing.
Then a thought comes to mind so I look back up to Yoongi. "You changed Koo's number didn't you?"
I'll be happy if he did but also won't be too happy because then we can't confirm this is the same number from that day Koo got that call.
"Yes I got it changed."
My shoulders slump a little. "Okay."
I purse my lips as I suddenly think of Seulgi. I wonder if she could figure out who this number is for. If she could possibly check in Irene's phone, I think she said something about them hanging out tonight or something. It would be a huge time saver if she could.
"I'm going to send this to Seulgi and see if she can figure out how to check if this is his. Maybe she can get into Irene's phone or something."
It's a long shot, and I don't even know if she'll be willing to help me, but I might as well try.
"Who's?"
"Hyuk's. And if it is his number we need to get it to Mrs Jeon so she can do whatever she wants to do with it. She's been trying to get ahold of him. Maybe she can figure out why he is calling you as well as if he is doing it on his own or if it is for Irene."
