Hostility
Yoongi's POV-
The main meeting ended a few minutes ago and I am now sitting in Namjoon's office with he and Jin.
Why I agreed to this I have no idea. Maybe I am just ready to give them a piece of my mind.
"Thanks for talking to us. I know you are ready to get home so we will try to be quick." Namjoon says.
"Alright." I fold my hands in my lap as I look between the two.
They sit silently, Jin shifting a little in his seat while Namjoon keeps opening and closing his mouth, obviously not knowing how to start his sentence.
"What about him?"
"What no- nothing." Namjoon stutters out. "What?"
"He is the only one you ever want to talk about with me. He is actually the only thing you guys ever talk to me about anymore. So what is it?"
"How is he?" Jin blurts out.
I look at him blankly. "How do you think he is."
"I just mean-"
"I know what you mean Jin. You are asking how he is but what you really mean is has he remembered you. The answer is yes. The memories of you and Namjoon came back a few days ago."
"And you didn't tell us?!" Jin raises his voice.
"No. I didn't." I say matter of factly.
In retrospect, it wasn't the most ethical thing to do, but it made me so angry that remembering them effected him the worst out of all of the things that have come back to him.
These two have hurt him so much and continue to do so both knowingly and unknowingly.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Namjoon asks in a much calmer tone while Jin is red faced next to him glaring at me.
I lean forward as I rest my elbows on my thighs.
"What would it change?" I ask while looking at Namjoon before I move my eyes to Jin's. "What would you have done? In fact, what will you do now?"
"We should have been told, Yoongi." Jin says through gritted teeth.
"Looking back now you're probably right, but I couldn't bring myself to call you. To even send a text to you. You two didn't see him when the memories of his history with you came back.
"You weren't there to hear his cries of agony as his head pulsated and pounded. The way he rolled around holding his head tightly as he begged me to stop the pain. You didn't have to wipe his tears away and hold him in your arms as you sat helplessly, praying the pain would end for him or at the very least be eased even a little.
"It took hours for the pain to lessen and he was affected for days afterwards. He couldn't think clearly. He would begin to speak then stop mid-sentence, unable to continue on topic because he would lose his train of thought. He had made so much progress and just remembering you two set him back so far."
My eyes have begun to tear up as I remember vividly the scene of him breaking down. It makes me want to rush to him right this moment and hold him tightly.
If you asked Kook about it he would try to down play it like it wasn't a big deal, but it was. In that moment he was wishing for unconsciousness, which something he still fears. He wouldn't even consider that as an option unless he was pushed to his limit.
Namjoon lets out a shaky breath as he stands up from his seat, walking around to stand behind it as he runs a hand over his face.
Jin is looking at me with wide, teary eyes. "You're lying. Please tell me your lying."
I blink a few times in attempt to clear away some of my own tears but a few escape anyway. As I'm about to speak Namjoon does instead.
"Why would he lie about that Jinnie. And he has a point. What does this change? Nothing. It's not like we would have rushed over and forced him to see us. The only difference would be that we would have the known." Namjoon says, wiping his eyes.
"I know but-" Jin begins but is cut off.
"No." Namjoon says curtly. "But nothing. Even in this moment we still don't know what we would say to him." He turns his eyes to meet mine "It would have been nice to know, but I understand why you didn't tell us. You had to see him in pain like I did when he was hurt, but I'm sure the helplessness in your situation was astronomically worse than it was back then.
"I know how upset I was at Jinnie in those moments so I would imagine you are harboring some hostility for us as well, which is understandable. I know apologies do nothing to change the past but I hope you know how sorry we are." He says with a trembling lip.
"We care for him so much. We really do." Jin says in a whispered tone as he stares down towards his hands in his lap.
"I know. And I know this doesn't have anything to do with me directly, but he is my whole world. When he is hurting I am too. It breaks my heart to see him upset but when he is in physical pain it cuts me to my core." I start to sniffle as my tears keep falling. "I know you two care for him and I know that he was coming around to making amends before, but Namjoon put it mildly. At this time it isn't just hostility I feel towards the two of you.
"I try to look at this objectively but it is nearly impossible. Don't ask me to bring up talking to you because he could tell me he never wants to see you again and I would support the decision wholeheartedly. But if he brings up speaking with you on his own, I will support him in that decision as well."
They are both quiet as they just nod at my words.
"Are we done here." I say as I stand up from the couch before turning towards the door. It wasn't really a question. I am done talking to them and it seems like they understood that was the case as they say quiet good nights as I leave.
All I want is to be with Kook right now. I did not like having to remember his pain that day. It only makes me worry more about how he has been doing today.
I had left my phone in my studio and as soon as I get to it I see several missed calls from an unknown number. As I'm scrolling through my call log the phone begins to ring again.
I don't answer calls from numbers I don't have saved, if it's important they'll leave a voicemail, so I decline the call.
Then I hear knocks on my studio door.
"What the hell is happening." I groan in frustration as I turn to the door and open it.
There stood in front of me is a girl.
She's not very old. Definitely years younger than me. I don't recognize her, but that's not surprising.
"Can I help you?"
"Answer your phone." She says in an annoyed tone.
I narrow my eyes at her. Who does she think she is. She shouldn't be showing this much attitude towards a stranger.
"The caller didn't say who they were."
"How would you know if you didn't answer the phone." She says with more attitude.
"Anything else?"
"Answer the phone or give the number to Tae." She comments in a quieter voice.
"Tae?"
Tae? Taehyung? How does she know Taehyung? Who the hell is this girl.
"Who let you in the building?"
"Never mind just do what I said." She scowls up at me before turning to leave.
I close the door. What the hell was that about? Just then my phone rings again.
I grab the phone, decline the call and call Taehyung. It rings through to his voicemail. I try again, no answer. The unlisted number calls again, I decline the call and try Taehyung again, still no answer.
I try him about a dozen more times, every once in a while having to decline the random number when it calls.
I sigh in frustration before remembering the reason I was so eager to get to my phone in the first place.
I dial Kook's number and it only rings twice before he picks up and I can hear his melodic voice.
"Thank you so much for all of the snacks!"
I smile at his cheerful tone. Thank God he sounds happy.
