I have to get a job.

Anyway...

Here is chapter two of TT!!!

Comment please!!!

Avi pulled up to the school, waiting patiently for the bell to ring. He was able to leave early, much to his relief. He forgot the last time he actually spent time with Mitch.

The last time he had quality time with his son was going to their favorite lake. They spent the whole day without Avi being paged or having to work a night shift at the creepy diner near the highway . Mitch hates that diner, but hey.

It made money.

As he was waiting for Mitch, Avi's phone chirped loudly and he nearly jumped out of his seat. He checked his notifications, smiling shyly at the top notification.

The Tinder app.

Avi, without Mitch knowing, has been on many dates to see which man (and sometimes, woman) would be the perfect parent for Mitch. So far, no one impressed Avi. Some of his dates even said that they didn't like how 'flamboyant' Mitch looked.

Oh well.

At least he's looking out for his son.

Avi unlocked his phone and clicked on the Tinder notification, his jaw dropping as the picture popped in front of him. He couldn't believe it. It can't be...

"Ke-Kevin O-Olusola?!" He whispered to himself, wondering if this was real life. He sure hoped it was. "Is this really him?"

Avi loved Kevin's book more than anything. Before any major surgeries or even sutures, Avi always read a passage from Kevin's book. The inspiring novel motivated him in ways he couldn't describe and he could never put it down. Mitch even poked fun at him and told him that if he liked Kevin so much, he should just marry him.

Maybe this could be his chance.

Avi accepted the request, his fingers shaking as he wrote his message out.  He took a deep breath, reading the message over and over again to make sure he didn't seem creepy.

Dr. Olusola,

I am incredibly inspired by your work and I cannot believe that you sent me a request to 'meet up with you' or whatever. I am utterly surprised and I do not understand what you see in me. I'm sorry if this message is creepy. I'm still in shock.

Thank you!

Avriel Kaplan

Avi pressed send, hoping that his message was seen as something sweet and not stalker-ish. He locked his phone the same moment Mitch opened the door, practically jumping out of his seat at the sudden action. Mitch giggled, shaking his head as he smiled at his dad.

"I would think that you are hiding something from me that you never want me to find out." Mitch replied, laughing once more when Avi nodded. "Also, why did you give money to Mrs. Titus? She doesn't want you to do that anymore."

"I know, but she deserves it. It's the least I can do."

Mitch sighed, playing with his fingers as Avi began to drive. It was silent until Mitch spoke up, his voice quiet.

"Maybe I should just quit voice lessons. You need the money more than I do."

"No, we're not going to do that." Avi retorted, frowning as he looked at his son. Mitch nodded, putting his chin on his hand as he watched the scenery pass by. "Um, I was paged tonight. I'll be gone for a few hours. I'll bring back something for you to eat."

"Okay."

The car ride was silent for the rest of the ride, but Avi and Mitch didn't mind. Their silence spoke a million words, a full conversation, one that they only understood. It was as if they knew exactly what they were thinking.

And they wouldn't trade it for the world.

Nothing at all.

~~~
Kevin whistled to himself, clearing his throat as he read his medical book. The medicine he had in his hand was now next to his arm, the pills scattered around. Kevin tried to figure out what other medicine could work with this medicine without causing any side effects.
One of those being death.
His job is risky and even though he's rich and will most likely not go in debt if he's lucky, he still wants to have a backup job if that were to happen. He wouldn't want to lose everything. Not now, not ever.
Also, he could help Scott and Kirstie go through college. He can't lose all the money he is making. He makes more than the average celebrity, but he wants to be safe.
He sighed to himself as he tried to remove his worrisome thoughts from his head, looking up when he heard his phone chirp. He smiled when he saw that 'Avi' sent him a message on Tinder. He took a deep breath, hoping that the message was good. He finshed the message, laughing to himself before typing.
Avriel,
That is very nice! I am honored that I inspire you! Also, I see a man that cares a lot about his son. Being a single parent is hard and you looked like someone who could fill in the position to take care of my children. I'm free tonight so I was wondering if you would like to meet halfway because we live a couple hours apart from each other. We could meet each other around 8 at Chili's. Is that okay?
Also, call me Kevin.:)
When Kevin put his phone down, Scott and Kirstie walked in. Both children looked irritated, their arms crossed as they stared down at their father. Kevin put a finger up, putting the pills in a small compartment before looking up at his children to smile at them.
"How was the day toda-"
"Horrible! Karissa Martin got the same exact dress as me! Now I can't be the best one at the prom!" Kirstie exclaimed, throwing her backpack on the ground as she walked to the refrigerator to get a drink. "There's a better dress though. It's from Venice and it costs $1,000."
"Kirstie, I'm not going to give you a $1,000 for a prom dress. We both agreed that $600 through $900 was our budget."
"So? Going over a $100 never killed anyone." Kirstie mumbled, opening her water bottle. She took a sip as Scott threw his backpack down too, sighing angrily as he sat down on one of the chairs in the kitchen. "Also, don't mind him. Fisher Jefferson canceled his party next week and Scott was looking forward to it."
"Fisher Jefferson, as in the Fisher Jefferson that tried to steal pills from me in order to get high? Good. I don't like that kid."
"Well, I do. I just wanted to party." Scott retorted, crossing his arms as he glared at nothing. Kevin shook his head, wanting nothing more than to scream at his children.
They're so spoiled. I knew that I should have never given what they wanted growing up.
At that moment, Kevin's phone chirped again and he unlocked it to see that Avriel messaged him again. He hid his smile, smiling even more when he read the message.
That is perfectly okay! The only problem is that my son will be by himself, but my sister is actually coming later tonight to visit us so she could stay with him. Also, same to you! I have been wanting someone to take care of my son with me and you seem like great for him.
Also, call me Avi.:)
"Avi." Kevin whispered, smiling as he stood up. His children were on their phones, not paying attention. "I'm leaving now to do something for a few hours. Stay home."
'Hmph' and 'whatever' were his responses. Kevin rolled his eyes and walked upstairs, getting ready for the date that will change his life.
Forever.
~~~

Avi took a deep breath, cursing at himself when he realized that he still smelled like the hospital. The smell of latex-free gloves and expensive medicines never went away. Avi sat down, looking at his watch to see that it was almost time for his date, the date that will hopefully give him someone he and Mitch deserve. He closed his eyes, hoping that Kevin isn't a jerk.

Please do not let him hurt me or Mitch. He seems like a nice guy, but I need to be careful. Kevin could be an ax murder for all I know.

While Avi was thinking to himself, Kevin walked in and looked around. He frowned a bit when he didn't see Avi, not knowing that the bearded man was sitting on a bench next to him. Avi wasn't paying attention, his thoughts getting the best of him as Kevin walked up to the host. The host smiled, her eyes widening when she noticed the popular author.

"Dr. Olusola! I love your book! I can't believe you're here!"

"I'm on a date. I don't know if he's come or not." Kevin replied, smiling softly as the host nodded. Avi was still in his thoughts and has yet to recognize Kevin. "I think he might be stuck in traffic."

"That's fine. There is a table in the back for two that we will reserve.  Just call for me when he comes."

Kevin nodded, sitting down next to Avi. The men still did not recognize each other until Avi turned around and tapped Kevin's shoulder.

"Excuse me, do you have a char-Kevin?" Avi remarked, widening his eyes as he finally looked at the man in front of him. "You're here! I didn't even see you!"

"I didn't see you either! How funny." Kevin replied, smiling as he took a portable charger out of his jacket pocket. "Here's a charger. Do you need your phone?"

"Just in case my son calls me. My sister is with him, but he usually calls me every night. He thinks I'm at work." Avi answered, plugging his phone in. Kevin nodded, smiling at the thought of Avi's son. "Anyway, let's go. I'm hungry.

"As the teenagers say, same." Kevin agreed, making Avi chuckle. The host came back, smiling at the couple as they stood up. "My date was here the whole time! We're ready now."

"Follow me, gentleman!"

Kevin began to walk behind her, Avi a few steps behind. Avi forgot the last time he went to a Chili's or a restaurant in general so he hoped that he didn't seem awkward.

"Avi? Are you going to sit down?"

Avi nodded, sitting in front of Kevin. Kevin already had his menu opened, stating that he would get chips and queso for an appetizer. Avi nodded, biting his lip at the prices.

This is expen-

"Don't mind the prices. Get whatever you want. I am a multimillionaire after all."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure." Kevin replied, smiling sweetly. Avi nodded, looking at the menu to order what he wanted. In no time at all, dinner was over and an ice cream sat in the middle of the couple. They were laughing, their smiles wide.

"Mitch is such a sweet boy. He doesn't get a lot, but he doesn't care. He works for what he wants."

"Scott and Kirstie aren't like that at all. They expect everything right away. I spoiled them as children." Kevin replied, rolling his eyes as Avi nodded. "Anyway, Mitch? He sounds like a good kid. When and why did you adopt him?"

"He was just fresh out of the hospital. The 'why' part is too depressing to talk about over dinner." Avi admitted sadly, Kevin nodding in response. "Anyway, I'm ready to go. You?"

"Yep. Let's go, my sweet date."

Avi blushed, giggling a bit as Kevin left the tip on the table and held Avi's hand on the way out of the restaurant. Kevin kissed Avi on the cheek, both men blushing. Avi smiled back and walked towards his car, waving goodbye to Kevin when Kevin spoke up.

"Do you want us to come over some time? We would love to see you!"

"Sure!" Avi responded, worried about how Kevin would react about the apartment. "Tomorrow at 2?"

"Yes! See ya then!"

"Bye!"

When both men got into their cars, they cheered to themselves and did little dances. They both believe that they are meant to be with each other just after one date.

One date.

Let's hope their children think the same way.

A/N: Here it is! This took me forever to write, lol. I'm very sorry. I got nothing to say. Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.:)
