I love you all!!!
Mitch knew something was going on when Avi told him that they were having dinner with somebody.
Somebody important.
"Dad, why are we driving an hour and half to a restaurant? We never eat at restaurants." Mitch pointed out, raising an eyebrow as Avi looked at himself in the mirror once more. "And who is this 'important person'? I want to know before we actually go there."
"You'll find out once we get there." Avi replied, laughing when Mitch groaned obnoxiously. "All I could tell you is that I think we're going to live better lives. We're going to be happier."
"I was already happy being by ourselves." Mitch replied softly, standing up to adjust his father's tie. He couldn't remember the last time he saw Avi in fancy clothing. "What happens if they don't like me?"
"Then I'll kick them out of my life forever. You come first. Now, come on. We got places to go, people to see. You'll love everyone there."
Mitch nodded, making sure his clothes looked okay before following his father to the car. He just wanted this night to end already.
Is that too much to ask?
The Olusola children were on the same boat as Mitch as they got themselves ready to go to their favorite restaurant, La Mieux; however, the restaurant was the last place they wanted to go to.
"I'm supposed to be on a plane to Hawaii right now for this break, not some dinner to meet dad's new sugar baby." Kirstie mumbled angrily, curling her hair as Scott nodded his head. "I could be some cute Hawaiian guy this weekend, but we're stuck at Disneyland instead. I hate cheap places."
"Same." Scott murmured, making sure he looked okay before he turned to his sister. He had a mischievous look on his face, his smirk scaring Kirstie a bit. "Dad didn't say that his new beau wasn't rich. For all we know, he could richer than Dad is. Do you know what that could mean for us?"
"More vacations."
"More cars."
"More jewelry."
"More houses."
"Don't forget dogs!"
"More dogs." Scott finished off, chuckling when Kirstie cheered excitedly. They had this in the bag. "We're going to be so rich, Kirstie. We're always going to be rich."
Kevin overheard the conversation, shaking his head as he walked back to the living room. Avi won't stand a chance with these kids, especially Mitch. Both siblings will hate them and it'll just go to the point where Avi will leave.
Kevin can't take another heartbreak.
"Kids, it's time to go! Our reservations won't wait and Avi and Mitch are already there!"
"Coming!" Both kids yelled, running downstairs excitedly. They couldn't wait to see their dad's new sugar ba-boyfriend. He might be filthy rich after all! You know what they all say though.
If only they knew.
~~~
Avi and Kevin shared a hug, happy to see each other once more. It's been at least a few weeks since they last saw each other, but they were texting each other with every chance they had. Avi let go of the hug, smiling swewtkt before turning towards Mitch.
"Kevin, this is Mitch. Mitch, this is Kevin." Avi spoke softly, smiling when Kevin sat down next to Mitch. Kevin offered his hand, smiling at the quiet not next to him.
"Hello, Mitch. It's a pleasure to meet you." Kevin spoke brightly, making Mitch smile shyly. Mitch held out his hand, almost losing control of his body. Kevin practically shook him!
"It's nice to meet you too, Dr. Olusola." Mitch replied, his shyness going away quickly. Avi was shocked yet happy. Mitch never got over his shyness for anyone. "I've done a lot of research about you. My dad has always been obsessed with you."
"Is that so?" Kevin asked playfully, looking over at his (hopefully) soon-to-be boyfriend. Mitch laughed as Avi blushed and covered his face, nodding as Kevin smiled. "That's cute. I do love my fans after all."
"Where are Scott and Kirstie? I thought they com-"
"Dad, what the heck?!"
"They're not rich!"
Kevin looked behind him, blushing when he saw his children with disappointed looks and crossed arms. Avi dropped his jaw, not knowing how to react while Mitch looked down at the table, trying not to cry.
How do they know that we're poor? Did Pops say anything to Kevin?
"Kirstin Taylor and Scott Richard, you know better than that." Kevin scolded angrily, shaking his head while his children sat as far away as possible from Avi and Mitch. "Not everyone is as rich or as spoiled as you two."
"No one has more holes in their shirts than sugar baby's child does." Kirstie pointed out, looking at Mitch's shirt. Mitch put on a jacket, looking at his menu to avoid the rude remarks. "Are you looking for the 2 for $20 portion? Well, sucks to be poor because La Mieux doesn't have that. You and your dad will be lucky to have one appetizer to share."
"Kirstin, be quiet or you won't be allowed to go to Disneyland." Kevin warned, getting a small smile from Avi. Kevin smiled back before he talked again. "Avi and Mitch are having dinner with us so we can k ow each other better. We're having a trip together so we can bond. Understood?"
"Yes, Dr. Olusola." Mitch spoke up, pitting his menu down. Kevin smiled at him and patted him on the back, forgetting the last time he met a polite child. "Also, um, the food here is expe-"
"Price doesn't matter here. I'm paying."
Mitch nodded as Scott and Kirstie glared at him, shaking their heads. They hated this. They just wanted to have more money and they have the poorest family ever instead?
That sucked.
And for Mitch?
Let's just say he loves Kevin already.
~~~
"So, we're going to a hotel I can't even pronounce the name of for three days?" Avi asked nervously, frowning a bit as Kevin nodded. Scott and Kirstie were annoyed while Mitch stayed close to Avi. "Kevin, I don't know. This is too much. Mitch and I will try to find a cheaper hotel."
"Please do." Scott whispered, laughing along with Kirstie only to have the back of their heads hit by Kevin. "Dad, what the heck?!"
"Be nice." Kevin seethed, his eyes burning in anger as he shook his head. "Anyway, it's okay. I don't mind having two rooms. I told you I have the money."
"I don't though." Avi admitted sadly, Scott and Kirstie rolling their eyes as Mitch looked at the ground. Avi prayed no one in the hotel was listening when he looked at Kevin seriously. "I can't take this. This is too much. I don't want to seem like a burden."
You are.
But Kirstie kept that to herself.
"You aren't though, neither is Mitch. You two are going to have fun and this is a vacation you both deserve. Also, if you just happen to be paged during our vacation, I 3ill have a private jet take to the hospital you work at. Just take your mind off everything else."
Avi and Mitch shared a look, both of them nodding their heads while smiling. Maybe Kevin is right, maybe they did deserve this. They've never been on a vacation before.
"Great. Now, I was wondering if Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch could share a room and we can too? Are we in that point in our relationship?"
"I mean, yeah. If you want it to be." Avi replied, blushing as Kevin nodded. Before anyone knew it, they were all in their rooms. Kevin managed to get both presidential suites, making their stay more enjoyable. While Mitch was in bed, he couldn't help but look at Scott and Kirstie. Something about them just made him...
Irritated.
He must have been thinking out loud because Kirstie nearly broke her neck when she turned to glare at him. Mitch became wideeyed, but he refused to back down.
He's got this.
"How about you speak up next time, punk?" Kirstie hissed, trying to not lose her temper. "You're poor. You have no right to speak to me."
"Why would I want to talk to you in the first place? I only talk to people with real emotions."
"And we only talk to people who have a lot of Benjamin Franklins." Scott retorted, smirking when Mitch looked down at his lap. "All you and your daddy are used to are George Washingtons. It's sad."
Mitch shook his head, scolding himself for not standing up for him and Avi. They didn't deserve this.
"Yeah, that's what I thought. Go to sleep. Scott and I are talking about our trip at the end of the year."
Scott and Kirstie laughed as Mitch rolled over, knowing one thing.
They hate this.
So much.
A/N: And I hate this chapter so much.😂 Anyways, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and remember that I love you all.
