The next day Kari woke up to someone knocking on her room door. "Who is it?" Kari asked as she sat up in her bed.

"It's Pit. Lady Palutena sent me to show you around Skyworld." Kari stood up and went to the door after getting dressed. Pit smiled and gestured for Kari to follow. He showed Kari around the whole place, like the meadow, the garden area, the buildings and more. After that Palutena called the two to her chamber.

"Pit, I need you to teach Kari about weapons." Palutena stated. "I will be sending you out on a mission after lunch. So just teach her the basics." Pit widened his eyes in shock.

"Bu-B-but Lady Palutena, Kari's just a human! She can't handle those monsters." Palutena smiled and looked at Kari.

"I'm sure she'll be fine." Is all she said. Kari gulped and gave a small embarrassed blush since Lady Palutena had so much faith in her. Pit then took Kari to the weaponry.

"Alright, pick a weapon." Pit stated with a sigh, not sure why he was doing this. Kari looked around and noticed a set of blue cuffs with five silver spikes on each with a button looking like Kari's symbols. Kari put them on, one on each wrist and ankle. She then pressed the buttons making the hollow spikes hook around her fingers and toes with thin yet durable chains that were long so she could use them as a hook shot as well if she needed to.

"Cool." Kari smiled and nodded at Pit. "Got them!" She smiled and Pit blinked then rushed at Kari. "Whoa!" Kari called and dodged out of the way quickly.

"Nice reflexes." Pit complimented then lunged for another attack. "Keep your guard up." He warned as he went for another attack. Kari nodded. "Keep your most vital areas protected at all times." Pit kept giving helpful advice as they spared together.

Eventually they were sent out on a mission, Pit carrying Kari as Palutena guided him with her power of flight. Kari rode on Pit's back and helped shoot monsters out of the air with her cuff-claws while Pit dodged attacks and shot down some monsters as well with a bow and arrow, sometimes having Kari hang onto his shoulders so he could aim better.

Once they were at their destination they looked around at the scenery. "Ruins...?" Kari stated as she kicked a pebble. Pit looked around with a sigh.

"Yeah. Old Greek ruins." Kari looked at Pit as he spoke. "It looks like it was once a human town but it now is home to monsters." Kari looked into a house and saw two skeletons on the ground. She jumped back in shock as she gasped in surprise. Kari then noticed Pit waving to her. She rushed up to him and saw a bunch of monsters doing work.

"Soooo... What do we do?" Kari asked in a low whisper and looked at Pit.

"There are too many to fight head on. So we sneak in." Pit whispered then went on ahead, he did this because he felt that if he were to fight then Kari would get hurt badly. "Follow my lead." He whispered and Kari nodded, doing as she was told. The two were soon inside a big temple like building. Pit noticed that they, as in the underworld forces, were training monsters to become much stronger. Kari stared and Pit did the same.

"Keep it up men!!" Called a voice. It was a fat floating human looking figure.

"Kari, take a mental note of what I'm about to say." Pit started and Kari nodded. "That guy is called Thanatos. He works for Medusa, the goddess of darkness." Pit said and Kari gulped as she looked on.

"He looks creepy..." Kari whispered with a shiver. Pit nodded.

"No objections there." He said with a huff. "Come on, we need to get over to that door." Pit pointed to an arched door on the other side of the room. Kari sighed and nodded, a little nervous.

"Kay." Kari then followed Pit across the room. About half way there they were spotted.

"Pit?!" Thanatos called out in shock. "Well what a surprise. Nice to see you again." Thanatos looked at Kari and tilted his head. " And who might you be young human girl?" Kari blinked and looked at Pit, who nodded.

"I'm Kari! Kari Himura." Kari called out full of pride, yet deep down she was screaming. Thanatos smirked.

"Full of yourself aren't you girl?" Thanatos stated with a huff then snapped his fingers and the two were surrounded. "Well, good luck getting out of THIS one Pit and... Kari." The monsters began to close in on them. Kari narrowed her eyes and shot one of her claws at a monster right in the eye then used that monster to take out a few more. Kari looked at Pit, who was shooting some monsters from afar. Kari then went back to taking out as many monsters as she could.

Time went by quickly and the two were getting tired of fighting. Pit growled and aimed a shot at Thanatos's head. He shot at Thanatos and made him fall. This made the monsters freeze for a moment, giving Pit and Kari time to flee. "So, Pit. What are we here for a-anyways?" Kari panted once they were safe.

"We are here for a sacred object. Not like the three sacred treasures or the great sacred treasure that were destroyed a while ago, but these are pretty strong. We are here to grab them and go." Pit informed.

"Why is that?" Kari asked while tilting her head, she wanted to ask about the things Pit just mentioned but she let it be and decided to look it up later. Pit shrugged.

"I'm not sure. But if I were to guess I'd say something big is gonna happen. Oh, make a right here." Pit said then turned right, Kari close behind with her guard up.

"So, what is this sacred object?" Kari asked once more, ever the curious one. Pit shrugged again.

"I think Lady Palutena said it was some kind of staff or something. I'm not quite sure." Kari narrowed her eyes in annoyance. Then something moved in the corner of the room, catching Kari's eye.

"Pit," she whispered. "We aren't alone." Kari warned in a low tone and Pit nodded. Then something grabbed Kari. It was a green worm or snake like thing similar to an octopuses tentacle. Kari squeaked in surprise as she struggled and flailed, trying to get free.

"Hold still girl!" It was Thanatos in the form of an octopus! Kari growled and struggled more. Thanatos hissed and squeeze her tightly.

"AAH!!" Kari screamed out in pain. Pit shot an arrow at Thanatos only to have the giant green octopus deflect it and hurt Kari more. "Le-Lemme go!" Kari snapped and her body temperature grew along with her anger. Thanatos laughed.

"Aw, look at YOU, getting all ma-ah-ah-aaaahhhh!!! HOT!!!! HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!!!" Thanatos called out as Kari burst into flame.

"LEMME GO! LEMME GO, LEMME GO, LEMME GO!!!!!!" She repeated in anger. Thanatos dropped her and once she landed she shot a fireball at him, acting off of instinct, as he fled in despair. Kari then began to feel weary and she began to sway from side to side tiredly.

"Kari!" Pit called as Kari, the flame around her body now out with a hiss, began to topple over since she used so much energy. "You ok? Kari?" The angel asked as he caught her. She let out a moan and then a tired sigh, she was out like a light. Pit then took her back to skyworld since the staff was not there.

Once they were back Pit put Kari in her room. Kari curled up in bed with a content sigh and Pit reported to Lady Palutena.

"Hmm... So, she burst into flames..." Palutena summed up and Pit nodded.

"Y-yes!" Pit called out. "It was so weird! Isn't Kari a human?" Pit asked and Palutena nodded.

"I believe so. She was in the human realm after all..." Palutena sighed and Pit stared at her, not believing a word she said. "I need to get back to work. I would like you to get some veggies from the garden for today's dinner."

"What do you need lady Palutena?" Pit asked and Palutena hummed in thought.

"Well, some squash, cucumbers, um, zucchini and whatever else you'd like." Palutena stated with a smile and Pit nodded and rushed to the garden, checking on Kari along the way and ordering two Centurions to guard Kari's door until he said it was ok.

Moments later Pit came back with a bunch of food and headed to the kitchen and dropped off the baskets of food then went to watch over Kari, sending the Centurions back to their original tasks.

When Kari awoke moments later she sniffed the air and sat up slowly. She held her head and gulped, going to the door. She opened it and stepped out, not seeing anyone there. Kari blinked and began to walk towards the kitchen to eat, since she was hungry.

"Hello Kari." Lady Palutena smiled upon seeing the girl. Kari waved and gave a small smile. Soon everyone ate and Kari took a bath and went to bed, not able to recall what she had done only hours ago. She got dressed into her pajamas and went back to sleep.
