Hello minna! I'm back with Chapter 2 of Torn! AH, the thrills of writing a new story, they get every time! This chapter is a bit short, but not to worry. Next chapter will be up next week, and you guys will be able to look forward to Sasuke's point of view! So stay tuned! Here is Chapter 2 of Torn!

          Amazingly enough, Naruto didn't pass out throughout the whole burning process; Sakura had to give him credit for that. After she had dressed and bandaged him, she took out a couple medical herbs and made a liquid out of them. These particular herbs combined made a sort of painkiller. She gave some to Naruto, and after drinking it he seemed to immediately relax.

          "Damn, Sakura, whatever you gave me was amazing. How the hell did you make that?"

          "I've been trained ever since the age of six in medicine, so as long as I have the right herbs, I can pretty much do anything. This was quite simple actually. It's an antiseptic I invented myself out of mandrake, gyos, and dragonite petals."

          Naruto looked a little confused. "I don't really get it, but that sounds awesome, Sakura-chan!"

          Sakura laughed; she couldn't believe she had ever forgotten this person.

          "You should rest, the antiseptic should kick in soon," Sakura said, checking over her bandaging one last time.

          "What do ya mean?" Naruto asked, furrowing his eyebrows. "It's already working."

          "Well yes, but one of the side effects of my antiseptic is that it causes you to be drowsy. You won't even be able to open your eyes no matter how much you want to soon," Sakura explained as she pulled another rag from her basket and bunched it up, sliding it under Naruto's head.

          "What do ya-" Naruto stopped short as his eyelids started drooping. It had finally kicked in.

          "Sakura-chan," he drawled, evidently trying hard to force his eyes open.

          "Shhh, sleep. You deserve it," Sakura said softly, combing back his hair.

          A few moments later Naruto's chest was steadily rising and falling, and Sakura knew he was in a deep sleep. As she pushed his hair off his forehead, she noticed again the headband covering it and observed the symbol that was etched into the metal. It was not one she had seen before. It had curving lines that joined into an almond shape that didn't quite finish with an extra bit peaking out, and in the middle was a swirl. It looked strangely like an eye and a leaf at the same time to Sakura. She traced the edges of it with her finger, and a strange feeling sprang up inside of her, like she should know what the symbol was. She stared at it hard, unblinking until her eyes started to water. She tore her gaze away and looked at the sky.

          "Oh crap, I'm late!" she exclaimed upon seeing how dark it had gotten. She hurriedly packed her things in the basket and turned to look at Naruto one last time.

          "I'll be back, I promise," she said, even though she knew he couldn't hear her. And with that, she turned around and high tailed it back home.
