3 weeks later

(y/n)'s POV
"How does it feel to be back General?" Max asked as he shot a droids head clean off and I sliced through three in the same amount of time.

I smirked, "Amazing of course." I deflected a shot that was aimed right for him and it flew back into the droid; knocking it to the ground, "Watch your six Captain." I winked as he gave me a look of appreciation for saving his life, probably for the hundredth time.

How they survived without me for almost two months is beyond me. But luckily they did, I missed my boys.

I leapt forward and took out more droids in record time. I was feeling good, I was feeling free.

My mind is clear, I've had no hallucinations, I haven't heard any voices, I'm finally back in the field with my battalion, and I'm engaged to a man that you only think exists in fairytales.

I don't see how it could get any better than this.

As soon as this mission is over, I'm excited to get back home to him, it's been two days and I already feel like I'm going crazy without him.

Cutting me out of my thoughts, I felt a body push against me and drop me to the ground, only for a blaster shot to fly right past where I was, "Watch your six General." Max smirked at me with a wink as he stood up and pulled me up with him.

"Thanks Captain." I sighed with relief, maybe I should get lost in my thoughts when I'm in the middle of a battle.

"Now were even." He shrugged.

I chuckled as I shook my head, "Were not even close to being even."

"I think our work here is done boys!" I shouted through the field of dismembered droids.

I do however, find it to be strange that the droids attacked a random village on Alderaan. There was no General present and no clear motive, unless the motive was to kill innocent people for no reason. But there really wasn't anything special about this village, it was a completely random attack. But then again, Dooku is known for being cruel so I wouldn't be surprised if he did this just to be a dick.

We got onto the ship to go home and I contacted the council to inform them of my success on eliminating the threat.

Master Yoda was happy to hear from me, he was worried about me coming back out here, he thought it was too soon. But after some fake crying, I eventually got my way. I love my Master, but he's too easy when it comes to me, I swear his soft spot for me is going to be the end of him.

After I ended the call, I sat down on the floor with a heavy sigh, "You alright there General?" Jimmy questioned as him and Max both sat next to me on the cold floor.

I nodded as I leaned my head back and closed my eyes, "I'm fine, just a little out of shape is all from being out for so long." I chuckled at my tiredness.

"That's a surprise, you would think that General Skywalker kept up your cardio." Jimmy snorted and I shot my eyes open as I smacked him on the arm while giving him an annoyed glare.

He chuckled in response, "I'm kidding, but seriously how is everything going?" He asked as he sat criss-cross and eyed me with curiosity while resting his head in one hand.

I dropped my annoyed expression and replaced it with a joyful one, "Perfect." I smiled as I brought my hands up and traced my fingers along the ring he got me; I was currently wearing it around my neck since wearing it on my hand would look suspicious to the council. I usually keep it tucked in my shirt when I'm around them.

Max's eyes followed my hand movements and they widened, "You got engaged?" He asked in a surprised tone, but it was also kind of disappointed tone at the same time.

I narrowed my eyes, "Yes; why do you say it like that?"

"YES!" Jimmy shouted causing me to jump and my heart practically leapt into my throat, he held his hand out to Max, "Fifty credits, hand it over bitch."

Max scowled, "It's in our room." He sighed with irritation. And I suddenly figured out why Max was so disappointed.

I raised my brows at them in annoyance, "Did you all place another bet?"

Jimmy nodded with a smile on his face, "Not all, just Max and I," He shrugged, "I bet that you'd get engaged within the first three months and he said you'll get engaged after three months."

I rolled my eyes at them, "Stop betting on my love life," I sighed as I leaned my head back against the wall and closed my eyes, "And you definitely won by a landslide, we got engaged around a month in." I smirked. A month.. sounds insane, until I realize that we've been in love for more than half of our lives.

Max groaned, "I didn't even stand a chance."

I chuckled, "Nope."

I walked down the ramp with a smile on my face as I was greeted by Master Kenobi and Master Yoda, "Missed you I did." He grinned happily up at me and I went down for the hug that I knew he was waiting for.

"I missed you too." I responded before pulling away then looking up to Kenobi, "Not that I'm not happy to see you as well, but where's Anakin?" I questioned as I stood up straight. When I left the other day, he told me that he would be here waiting for me for when I return. Well I'm here now and he's not.

He sighed in response, "I'm not sure, I haven't heard from him since yesterday afternoon when he left." He revealed and I started to get a bad feeling that made my stomach hurt. Anakin always checks in with Obi-Wan, even if he's in the middle of a battle he finds a way, he never goes a whole day without checking in.

I breathed heavily to keep myself calm, I can't just jump to conclusion and assume the worst, "Where was he sent?" I asked, with every intention of going after him.

He shook his head, "He's not on an assignment," I furrowed my brows in response, "He didn't give me much of an explanation, he said he got a call about his mom, then he got on a ship and left before I could ask anymore questions." He sighed as he ran his hands through his hair, clearly just as worried as I was.

A call about his mom? Oh no. Now I am assuming the worst. What if that Tuskin Raider incident wasn't just a coincidence; what if they went back? Fuck.

Without responding, I turned on my heels and walked back up the ramp, "Max, Jimmy, let's go!" I called to my two men who eyed me confused, but quickly followed me up the ramp without question. The rest of my battalion looked confused as well, but I wanted them to stay behind. I didn't need everyone for this.

"Where are you going?" Kenobi asked as I was pressing the button for the ramp to lift back up.

"To find my fiancé."

I landed on the desert planet, just outside of the house that belonged to Shmi and Cliegg. Not far from where I landed, was another republican ship, that has to be Anakin's. I sighed with relief, at least I knew he was still here somewhere.

I lowered the ramp down as Max spoke to me, "What do you need from us General?" He asked and I couldn't answer just yet. I wasn't even sure, I decided to bring them along as a precaution since I had no idea what I was walking into.

I sighed as I walked down the ramp to step on the hot sand, "For now, both of you just stay with me." I instructed and they nodded in response without another word. I walked into the house and was immediately met with Beru who looked completely startled when saw me. She dropped the cup in her hand, but I used the force to catch it before it could fall and shatter, "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you." I apologized as I brought the cup back into her hand.

She nodded with a sigh when she grabbed the cup, "It's okay, I assume you're here looking for Anakin?"

I nodded, "Where is he Beru?" I asked nervously when I saw her face fall slightly.

She nodded for me to follow her and all three of us did until we stopped in what I remembered to be the dining room. I looked around but I still couldn't see him and I was growing frustrated along with scared. I couldn't even feel him anywhere.

"(y/n) it's good to see you." The voice of Cliegg came from behind me and I turned to see him in an electric chair.

I eyed the machine, "What the hell happened to you?"

He sighed as he stopped moving, "Shmi was taken by Tuskin Raiders a few days and I went out looking for her," He sighed sadly as he gestured to his legs, "As you can see I failed."

Now I know why Anakin rushed here, oh gods I hope they're both okay.

I shook my head at him, "A few days ago? Why did you barely call Anakin yesterday?" I asked slightly annoyed, the sooner we got the call, the better it would have been and I would have been able to come with him, to help. Now he's missing.

"I thought I could get her back on my own," He admitted with sad eyes, "But no doubt she's already dead, Tuskens aren't known for being merciful." I watched as he lifted his hand and wiped away a tear.

I sighed, feeling bad that I snapped, "Anakin went after her right?" I asked and he nodded, "Point me in the direction he went."

He shook his head at me, "He's been gone for more than a day (y/n), he's probably de-" I lifted my hand up to stop him from finishing that sentence.

"I'm not believing that unless I see a body with my own two eyes," I growled, there's no way I'm going to give up on him that easily, "Point me in the direction." I demanded with a harsher tone.

"He went West." Beru answered for him and he shot her a glare. I get that he's trying to keep me from getting hurt out there, but this is Anakin and Shmi, I have to know the truth and not just assume like he is.

I lifted my hand up and squeezed her shoulder gently, "Thank you." I half-smiled at her, I was too nervous to be able to give a full smile.

I turned around and left, my two men followed quietly behind me. I could sense their worry for Anakin. In those two months, I knew they grew to love him just as they love me.

There was a small speeder outside and I lifted my leg over it to sit down, not even bothering to ask for permission to use it.

"What about us General?" Jimmy asked as they both eyed me with concern.

I sighed, "There's no other speeders so you're going to have to stay here." I instructed them and I could see how hesitant they were to let me go, "I'll be fine, I'm going to bring them back." I assured them and they finally nodded in understanding, "Watch over this place until I return." I demanded as I roared the speeder to life and took off in the direction that Beru pointed out for me.
