19-Sleep Well

(y/n)'s POV
"Shoot me." I instructed Dax who stared at me with wide eyes. He looked to the rest of the battalion then back to me. We were all currently in another training session, "Don't be a pussy Dax." I rolled my eyes when I saw he was hesitating.

He shook his head with slightly narrowed eyes at my comment, "I don't want to shoot you General."

"I'll do it!" Jimmy raised his hand as he stepped out from the line up.

I chuckled, of course he would. I nodded, "Alright Dax, go back with the rest and observe." He nodded and moved so Jimmy could step in the place that he was in.

He pulled his blaster out, "Where shall I shoot General?" He questioned with a wide grin.

"The face." I demanded and his eyes widened slightly but then he shrugged.

"I'm assuming there's a purpose to this and I won't be responsible for your death right?" He asked as he set his gun from stun to normal, "General Skywalker and General Yoda will have my head."

I nodded with a chuckle, "You wouldn't be able to kill me even if you really tried." I smirked and he held up the blaster to me. I could feel the anxiety in the room from the men watching, "Now." I instructed and he pulled the trigger.

I held up my hand and caught the blast in the air before it could hit me, just as I did in the Chancellors office a few days ago. I pushed it back towards Jimmy and stopped it right before it hit his face, "Oh shit." His eyes widened as he stepped back.

I chuckled as I looked around the room, "See how easy that was for me?" I flung the blast up and it hit the ceiling, creating a burn mark, "Although it hasn't happened for you yet. There most likely will be a time where you'll come across a force sensitive, one not involved with the order. And one that has bad intentions." I lectured them and they were all listening with great interest, "They can kill you just as easily as I could have killed Jimmy. You can go back with the rest now." I gestured to the line of men and he went back in, "So I need your reflexes to be faster and sharper. I need you to watch where you're shooting, you never know when it will be directed back to you, so you have to be prepared to move out of the way if you can. Are you listening men?" I spoke louder so my voice echoed throughout the room.

"Yes General!" They all shouted simultaneously.

I nodded with a small smile, "Good, now let's begin with some exercises. Dax you're up and don't be a pussy this time."

~*~•~*~

"Impressive work General (y/l/n)." Anakin walked into the room with a smile on his face as my men began to leave, "Almost gave me a heart attack though." He shook his head with a sigh, "Was having them shoot at you for the past half hour really necessary." He crossed his arms over his chest as he stopped in front of me.

I chuckled, "It definitely was necessary and how long were you watching General Skywalker?" I eyed him flirtatiously.

He looked to make sure no one else was in the room before grabbing me by my hips to pull me close, "I started around the time you called Dax a pussy." He laughed as he brought his lips down to mine and I got butterflies.

"So I heard your mission went well." I spoke up as he pulled away from me. We couldn't be too close for too long, you never know when someone is going to walk in.

He nodded, "Yes, the Chancellor is safe and Jango is in prison. The separatists won't make another attempt anytime soon. He's also doubled his security, so he should be fine for now." He informed me and I sighed with relief. After the events of that day, I was nervous to leave the Chancellor. But he insisted that with the capture of Jango, who I learned was the blueprint for the clones, that his life would be safe.

Anakin's job was to escort Jango to the prison after his interrogation. I heard it was a little rough and a small escape attempt occurred, but nothing my man couldn't handle.

"There's something else." He pulled me out of my thoughts with a sigh, "The 501st and I are being deployed to the outer rim to take care of a separatist fleet, I'll be gone for a few days."

My mood dropped and I felt a wave of sadness, "When are you leaving?"

He sighed again as he looked into my eyes with a solemn expression, "Right now."

"What; but you just got here." I complained, I hardly wanted to go a few hours without him. But days? That's just torture.

He nodded as he gently rubbed my arm, "I know, but I'll be back before you know it, I came here to say goodbye. I'm glad I did too, you truly are an amazing teacher. You should think about getting a padawan." He smirked and I shook my head.

"Definitely not my thing," I scrunched my face in disgust at the idea of having a little youngling following me around, "I'm gonna miss you." I turned the attention back to the original topic as I looked down to the floor with a sigh.

He brought his gloved hand to my chin to pulled my gaze back up, his blue eyes instantly making me melt, "I'm gonna miss you too Princess."

~*~•~*~

I groaned in annoyance as I got on my empty bed. I wished he was here, after having someone next to you for some time, sleeping alone really sucks. I pulled out my bottle of pills and popped one in my mouth. I grabbed my water and drank it so the pill could go down smoothly.

I set the water on my nightstand and flicked my light off as I yawned.  Laying my head on the pillow, I closed my eyes to drift into sleep. But I couldn't, I opened my eyes and looked at the empty space in next to me. I hope he doesn't get himself into trouble this time.

I heard a dark chuckle from inside the room and I shot up from my bed to scan the area. "Please tell me this isn't happening again." I whispered to myself as I flicked the light on. I've been taking my medications just as the doctor said, and I haven't had any episodes since then. I really hope that this was just my imagination playing tricks on me. I grabbed my bottle that still had more than half left, maybe I should take another one.

"Take them all." I heard a low raspy whisper like it was right up against my ear. I turned my head quickly to be met with nothing. I was breathing heavily and nervously as I opened the bottle and pulled out one more. I took it with my water and leaned my back against my headboard. My eyes stayed open as I constantly looked around the room, like I was waiting for something to happen. Half an hour had passed with no events and my eyes started to feel heavy. I closed my eyes but opened them again when I heard a flick. My light was off. I waved my hand and turned it back on.

That's how I spent the rest of the night. Nervously leaning up against my headboard, gazing upon the room, while I hugged my knees to my chest.

~*~•~*~

I groaned as I sat up straight, I fell asleep with my head on my knees so now my back was killing me. I also hardly got any sleep so my eyes felt heavy and I'm sure Ill look like hell the whole day. I took my morning pill and hopped in the shower. I sighed as the warm water fell down my body and I shivered at the memory of last night. Nothing else happened so I'm guessing that second pill really helped.

I washed my hair and I had an odd feeling like someone was behind me. I turned and there was no one there so I shrugged it off, thinking it was just my nerves, "Sleep well?" I heard a whisper against my ear just as I did last night. I jumped and spun around quickly, too quickly. I slipped and tried to grip onto the shower curtain for support, but it only wrapped around me while it ripped off of its hinges as I fell out of the shower and hit my head against the sink. Then everything faded into black.

Captain Max's POV
"Something isn't right men, she's never late." I folded my arms across my chest and they nodded in agreement, concerned faces were seen all around the room, it's been twenty minutes and she still isn't here, "Stay here and run a few drills, I'm going to go see where she is." I left the room and my first instinct was to check her room before I have General Yoda start a full on search for her.

I stood at her door and knocked a few times. I waited for a response, but it never came. I pressed the button for the door to open, "General?" I asked as I slowly poked my head in. Afraid of seeing something I wouldn't be able to unsee. I didn't see her but I heard the shower running. I calmed down more, thinking maybe she woke up late, but something still told me to knock and make sure everything was alright. I stepped up tot he door and knocked multiple times, "General?" She still never said anything. If she was alright then she would have responded, something has to be wrong. I opened the door, with slight reluctance. My eyes immediately darted to her on the floor, she was unconscious and wrapped around her shower curtain face up. I instantly rushed to her, "Oh my god, General can you hear me?" I asked as I lightly tapped her face, that's when I saw the blood pouring from her head wound that she must have gotten from falling, "Fuck General what the hell happened?" I placed my arms under her and picked her up, her head hung to the side and it gave me a sickly feeling. She was so pale and fragile, she almost looked dead. Which is exactly what she will be if I don't get her to the medical bay.

Anakin's POV
"It's definitely not as exciting as I thought it would be." I complained to Obi-Wan's tiny hologram on my dashboard as I continuously threw a ball up in the air, and catching it when it came back down. This assignment was beyond boring, the 501st didn't even need me; they were handling themselves perfectly fine. The fleet was a lot smaller than we thought it would be, so it's kind of overkill, "You know, we'd probably be done by now if you decided to just come with me like I asked."

"Oh no I much prefer being here, having a break from this war is something my old self needs."

I rolled my eyes with huff, "Please you're not even that old," I'd much rather be home with (y/n) right now. I tried calling her first, but I'm assuming she's with her battalion since she failed to answer, "How's (y/n) doing?" I asked as I still held my attention on the ball. He was silent, I didn't like it. I caught the ball one more time and turned to look at him. He was looking at me with an expression I couldn't read, "Obi-Wan, what is it?" I questioned as I felt slight panic rise in me. Why can't he just answer the question? Something must have happened.

He sighed, "Everything is fine Anakin, just focus on your mission so you can get home." He was avoiding eye contact with me.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "What aren't you telling me Obi-Wan?" I snapped but he still looked away from me, "Tell me now."

He finally looked up to me with a sigh, "She had an accident, she fell and hit her head pretty hard to the point where she fell unconscious. She's in medical bay right now."

I stood up from the chair in a panic, "What the fuck, is she okay; what happened?" I was breathing heavily as my nerves were building up, this girl is going to give me a heart attack one day. I already know she's going to be the death of me.

"Calm down Anakin," He instructed me and I shot him a glare, that's definitely not happening, "She fell as she was getting out of the shower, we think, we're not entirely sure yet. We won't know until she wakes up. But they're making sure the fall didn't cause any bleeds in her brain. She does have one head wound that's been stitched up, but so far she seems to be doing okay."

I slammed my hands down onto he panels on either side of the hologram, "That doesn't sound like, everything is fine, to me." I growled in frustration as I tightened my grip on the panels. How can she be so damn clumsy? "I'm coming home." I told him as I stood up straight.

He sighed, "This is why I didn't want to tell you, I understand you're worried, but you can't leave your mission. Finish what you need to do and then come home. Her condition will remain the same wether you're here or not." He started speaking to me in his authoritative tone. I looked out at the battle ahead of me.

The 501st were ahead of course, so they didn't need me. But now I had somewhere to be, so this needs to end quicker, "I'll be on my way soon." I pressed the button to cause his hologram to disappear and I turned around to get to the hangar so I could get in my star fighter.

(a/n Please let me know what you think about this one ♥️)
