Chapter 4
I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible, and when I leave you will finally understand why storms are names after people.
A P H M A U
"Azura" I answered.
"What are you doing here?" He sneered, he towered over my body and his white hair hung down like icicles.
"We can help each other"
He quirked an eyebrow and walked over to a small table. He leaned on it with his arms crossed over his chest.
"My interest has been peeked. Care to elaborate?"
"I can do anything. I have both mental and physical capability of achieving what the world deems as impossible" I said confidently.
"Whatever, we need help seeing as how Garroth can't do anything right..." He growled. I smirked.
"So where do I stay?" I asked. Be rolled his eyes and pointed behind him.
"You're just lucky we have another room"
A day passed and Garroth saw me. He barely talked. He just stayed in his room.
I'm not here to see him, that'll only lead to even more heartbreak. I'm here to ruin him, in the most beautiful way possible.
I waited two more days to start. One night it was insanely late. I tip toed into his room and whispered in his ear.
"My love..." He stirred in his sleep, cold sweat started to bead down his forehead "why'd you leave me?" I quickly jumped out the hole in the roof and looked down to see how he'd react.
"Aphmau?!??" He yelled and sat up in a cold sweat. He looked around and placed his elbows on his knees while weaving his hands into his disheveled hair. He pulled at his blond locks and a grunt escaped his lips.
As much as I wanted to manipulate him more, I needed to take this slow.
He needs to be destroyed for what he did to us
I crept back into my room and slept. Well...managed to at least.
The next morning I heard a loud thump. I peeked through the door where it came from and Garroth had fallen out of bed.
G A R R O T H
"My love..."
Her perfect lips whispered as she stood in an empty field. She held her hand out to me and I took a hold of it.
"Why'd you leave me?"
The grass turned blood red and Aphmau's hair blew violently in the bellowing winds. Her eyes held the same sadness I saw the day I left.
"No! Don't leave me-"
"Aphmau?!??" Cold perspiration trickled down my neck. I was breathing heavily and searched around me room.
Nowhere.
Aphmau was not in my room. I placed my head in my hands and pulled at my hair. I growled at my idiocy of leaving the place that accepted me. A hot tear fell down my cheek and landed on my blanket. I quickly rubbed my eyes trying to keep the tears in. I leaned against the wall and rested my arms on my knees. I tilted my head back and closed my eyes.
Irene, I messed up. I know. But I grew impatient. And that was my biggest mistake, I can't live without her. How much longer will I have to go with her haunting my dreams. Every time it seems like I'm happy but everything turns to a nightmare.
The night slowly passed and I decided to get out of bed. As I got up my foot got caught in the blanket and I fell, my face met the floor and I heard small giggles from the door. I looked up and saw Azura holding a hand over her lips while giggling away. My heart doubled in speed.
That laugh...
Flashback
I was walking down a hallway and had tripped I hit a broom on my way down and it followed me and hit my head. Small giggles were heard and I peered down the hall. Aphmau stood there grinning and laughing at the sight.
"You're such a clutz" she laughed.
Flashback end
"You're such a clutz" Azura said in an awfully familiar voice.
"Azura...?" I groaned. She nodded and left.
I could've sworn I've seen that same glint in someone else's eyes...
I shrugged it off and stood up. When I walked out my door I saw Azura wasn't in the room. I knocked on Travis' door and he let me in. Inside was Azura leaning against a wall in the dark corner.
"We need those files Garroth" Travis growled through clenched teeth. Azura awkwardly squirmed as if she wasn't comfortable with the situation.
"Ok, well Mr. Genius, what's the plan?" I barked back.
"Azura and you will distract all the agents possible. While I get the files you were supposed to get last time"
I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever, isn't it too early to be a bit-"
"Well if you two dipsticks are done arguing can we start with the job?" Azura tapped her foot impatiently.
Shooting one last glare towards Travis, I nodded my head.
Azura and I walked side by side in silence. We walked to the agency and hid from the security cameras. We climbed the wall and landed on a balcony...a familiar one....
When we walked inside there were pictures on the walls. I looked at each one and suddenly remembered.
This was my room.
I ping of guilt rested in my gut. My feet stopped moving and Azura sent me a weird look.
"Garroth!" She growled, "we have to go!"
I tried to move but my feet wouldn't. It was like they were glued to the floor. The small ping grew by the second. Soon my whole body was taken over by the guilt. My body shut down and collapsed to the floor. Azura's face grew worried and she rushed over to me.
"Garroth?!" She asked, concern laced in her voice. My body layed on the floor so she placed my head in her lap. She cupped on of my cheeks and caressed it with her thumb.
"Why are you crying?" She whispered. I didn't even realise tears had been falling out. With Azura's help, I sat up leaning against the bed. "Let's go" she looked into my eyes, determination laced in hers.
"But Travis-'"
"Screw him" she scoffed. She grabbed my hand and pulled my out the balcony. We climbed down and ran far enough to still see their base.
We arrived at a small lake. Azura sat down and I sat beside her.
"What happened back there? Care to explain?" She asked. I smiled weakly and looked at the grass.
"Just something from my past" I shrugged. The two of us heard yelling. It sounded like Travis.
"YOU HEAR ME RO'MEAVE??!? WATCH YOUR BACK! YOU TOO AZURA!!! CAUSE IM GONNA ESCAPE, AND WHEN I DO YOURE MINE!!!" The two of us looked through some bushes and saw Laurence, Dante, and a few police officers ushering Travis to a car. Katelyn stood in the doorway with her arms crossed. Travis looked really mad. Probably because we didn't do our job. Azura and I looked at eachother and laughed. He looked ridiculous.
"Well, should we go?" She asked after we finished laughing.
"Yeah...we should" giving one last glance towards the base, Azura and I walked away.
