SoT and GoH are known for their action and fun... but there are also very deep, cruel and sad things going on there. Scenes that are so sad and heartbreaking that they touch everyone's hearts. This will be another mixed list... so here we go.

#5 Kana Ido's wish (GoH)

One of the saddest scenes actually happens quite early in the GoH series, performed in a flashback. It's the scene where Kana Ido, Akira's birthmother, gave away her newborn child and entrusted Taji and Laslow with it because her husband rejected it. This scene was so sad because Kana wanted to protect her child at any cost, and before risking it is getting dumped or given away to strangers, she turned to one of the heroes who she, at that moment, trusted more than anyone else in the world.

#4 Jayden's broken heart (SoT)

After Mari's disappearance in Eclipse Arc, Jayden lost his sanity and was taken over by nothing but hatred. He lost the only person he would entrust the world to, the only person that ever meant to him more than his own life... and the person he loved the most. Mari was like a column for him to lean on. She was always there and she saved him multible times- and losing her like that, without being capable of saying goodbye or a chance of reunion (since he thought she lost her memory the very moment she was torn away) left him falling into a bottomless hole. This loss traumatized him more than anything, and seeing him go all-out insane because of that, seeing him grieve and suffer really is painful. And it's even sadder how Jayden was terribly afraid of losing her again after she returned.

#3 The touching rescue (SoT)

The scene in Eclipse Arc where Laslow freed Taji from Kalani's terrible control was emotional- not only because Taji was forced to fight the persons that meant the most to him- but also because of his reaction. When Laslow positioned himself between Kalani and him, Taji's first instinct was making his own ultra beasts kill himself so something like that would never occur again. Laslow however prevented that to happen before Taji finally chased his beasts after Kalani himself. After he regained his senses, Taji suffered a breakdown and cried. When Laslow said he really wished to have found Taji all those years ago, it really unleashed dozens of emotions.

***#2 Yukine's pain (GoH)

When Akira and Yukine were at Chargestone Cavern, a normal conversation turned into a really bad fight. Akira insulted Yukine, claiming that Yukine was only traveling with him because he needed to play the hero that saved the broken one; accusing him that Yukine would use it to brag himself to be the kind soul that does everything for Akira to feel better. It turns out however that Akira needed nobody as his friend, making himself a liar as he said Yukine wasn't irrelevant to him earlier. Yukine realized that he was completely and utterly insignificant to Akira- that he didn't care about him at all. And as Akira uttered Yukine and he were the same, Yukine shouted at him that it wasn't the case, because he would never use someone to highlight himself. As a result of that argument, Yukine hid away in the cavern, crying and feeling like garbage, even apologizing for being himself ("I'm sorry I'm not good enough... I'm sorry for being me"). Seeing Yukine having a complete mental breakdown like that really hurt.

***#1 Tears on the bridge (GoH)

After Laslow and the others told Akira who he really was, the silver-haired boy retreated to Driftveil Drawbridge to be on his own, realizing how terrible he had acted towards the people that have accepted and taken him in while his real father never wanted him- a child that was supposed to die. Also, he recalled how much grief he had caused to the only person that, throughout his whole life, had stayed by his side, defending him from everyone trying to insult him- his one and only friend, Yukine. As he was crying and hating on himself, Yukine showed up in search for him- and stayed with Akira while he was feeling miserable.
Not only was this scene a turning point in Akira's relation to Yukine... it was utterly sad and heartbreaking, too.
