Best friends are people you can rely on conditionlessly, whom you can have fun with and who support you. Many best friend characters are adored in books and films, so let's deal with the top 5 best friend characters in SoT and GoH.

SoT:

#5 Chris Edwards

Chris easily is a relyable friend to Laslow. One sees that by the way they are joking around when they talk, but also when Chris went all the way to Alola to make sure Laslow and Kuraiko were okay. Also, he simply helped out in Lost Timeline Arc because he knew they could need a strong assisting hand. He fought the hell out of everyone to make sure his buddy Stew was gonna be fine. He also kinda backed up Jayden because he respected him.

#4 Leilani Nohea

Leilani became friends with Mari and Jacky after they saved her by butt-kicking some Skull idiots. She repaid her debt by holding off Æther for them. She was always loyal towards the two and was glad to help out, even if she knew she couldn't do much. That's some commitment right there.

#3 Kuraiko Hirose

Kuraiko never intended to get caught up in the Alola crap, bit when she was asked for assistance, she did help out, mostly because Laslow was involved into the mess. They were best friends in school time after all.

#2 Nael Keahi

Nael and the girls got along from second one they met. He did go all out to help everyone. He's, like, that one friend you need. Remember the scene where Mari wished for Nael to be there to help them out, only for Nael to show up some time later? That's true friendship, guys.

#1 Mari Sentaku

Even tho Mari may be the MC, she's Jacky's best friend. And you see that. She supports her, builds her up, jokes and messes around with her and is there in good and bad times. That's why she is the best friend anyone can wish for, even if she is a sadist sometimes.

GoH:

#5 Aella Campbell

Aella is that one friend that makes you laugh a lot and helps you whenever asked. She fights for her friends, even if it means to turn against her own family.

#4 Lane Blackwood

Lane is calm and easy-going, but he's open to a convo at any time. He's that dude that builds you up in times of need. The one that never disappoints or leaves you.

#3 Makoto Amuro

Makoto is best friends with Yukine and Aella, relyable and a chill guy to hang out with. Much like Aella, he was ready to turn against his family. It wasn't necessarily in his friends' favor, but he earned all possible support. He's also getting a lot closer to Lucian, also because of Jairo.

#2 Lucian Nishiki

Lucian is besties with especially Jairo. And they are so cute. Lucian carries Jairo on his shoulders or goes for walks with him. Even if they are somewhat 4 to 5 years apart, it doesn't matter for them. It's not making any difference. And that's nice to see.

#1 Yukine Sentaku

As Yukine is best friends with... uh... literally everyone...? ... you see him be very determined and take friendships seriously. His standard sentence "that's what friends do" proves how good of a friend he is, supporting each and every one of them without second thought. Even if he gets himself into trouble for that.
