Top 5 BEST ARCS of SoT

The SoT series contains 7 books now. Each of them consists of different Arcs, and some of them are just freaking amazing. And that will be the topic for this part. Let's dig in! But before we start off, let's go with some honorable mentions of arcs that are great but not on my list of favorites.

-League Arc

League Arc was great because it consisted of many really awesome and exciting battles. Battles on a higher level and where you sometimes didn't see the outcome coming. Battles like Laslow Vs. Kuraiko, Mari Vs. Dino, Jacky Vs. Chris, Jayden Vs. Soleil, Mari Vs. Jayden, Jacky Vs. Laslow, Laslow Vs. Jayden and so on. It was just a truly awesome arc.

-Sinnoh Arc (2)

The Second Sinnoh Arc gave us a first real showdown feeling. Mari and Jacky struggling to find the Azure Flute before Cyrus and Team Galactic can lay their hands on it while, outside, the battle between Dialga, Palkia and Giratina reaches its highlight. As they got the flute and realize that even their mega evolved Pokémon Absol and Gardevoir can't bring up enough strength to actually stop the legendary gods of time and space, Jacky decides to play the flute and summon Arceus who ultimately put an end to the fight by wrecking Dialga and Palkia and thereby destroying the red chains that kept them under control before separating Cyrus' soul from his body and banishing it into the Distortion World. It was the first arc after which the two MCs where named the Heroines of Unova.

-Reaper Arc

Reaper Arc was excellent because the group faced a villain being a direct threat to them- and a villain they where actually more than scared of and somewhat incapable to find. They did encounter the person calling themselves "Reaper" before (he introduced himself as Hikaru in League Arc) but he sealed away Mari, Jacky and Jayden's memories using Imprison (a Pokémon move that actually seals enemy attacks the user knows, too) so they could not remember who the threat was. Kaoru and Kuraiko where the first victims of the assassin's attacks and he left messages behind saying that he would punish every person torturing their Pokémon by using the Mega Evolution. As Laslow and Jayden went searching for him in the dark, Reaper simply assaulted them without a big problem. Viv was the fifth victim as she tried coming over for aid. The cast at that time had to make up a plan to lure Reaper into a trap. As Dino joined their team there, both Jayden and Kaoru recovered quickly to assist them. In the end, it turned out Reaper was a little fifteen years-old boy that went missing weeks ago who's name was Katsuro Kamishiro. He was possessed by a Cofagrigus that one day in the past was a human killed by a raging Mega Salamence.

That's it so far. Now let's move on to the top 5 best arcs of the whole series.

#5 Monastery Arc

Monastery Arc was a turning point in Jayden's story. As he was attacked by nuns in the end of Opelucid Arc, Mari happened to be nearby so she interfered. Jayden was hypnotized, but Mari sent him away with Skarmory having only Zoroark left to fight. She was ultimately overwhelmed and aducted by the nuns, imprisoned in the monastery's dungeon and tortured. Jacky and Jayden, after the latter woke up, then set out to save her. While Jacky made sure Mari's torture ended, Jayden let himself get caught by Nate and pretended to be willing of performing the vow and seal the contract of serving the monastery forever. However, instead of Arceus, he pledged himself to Giratina and revealed he had attained the Rebel's Mark. While Jacky then fought down the people in the monastery, being assisted by Mari's Gardevoir, Zoroark and Skarmory, Jayden fled with Mari. This arc kind of deepened the bonds between Mari and Jayden and gave Jacky an opportunity to shine.

#4 Rebel Arc (1)

A lot went wrong in the First Rebel Arc. While Mari and Jacky only wanted to end the uproars in the Ninja villages and started off by helping the Mahtaria Clan, they both were tricked by some of Saizo's ninja- which resulted in both clans trying to hunt them down. Being outcasts, they had to somehow reveal the truth- so they started by seeking out lone ninja they encountered and convince them. A lucky thing for them was that Sayuri overheard them when they were confronted by Reina, one of the ninja that betrayed them, and spread the truth. As both ninja clans, in the end, were ready to fight each other down to the bitter end, Mari and Jacky stepped onto the battle field, with ninja from both clans changing onto their side, to fight down the traitors inmidst the ninja's own circles. It ended in an all-out war in which the rebels one by one exposed themselves. Saoko, the Varya's leader, then finally acknowledged the truth and allied up with Mari and Jacky to strike down the rebels. This arc was awesome because Jacky and especially Mari were literally stripped of their position as heroes and saviors, and they had to regain the trust of both clans. It was thrilling to read.

***#3 Lost Timeline Arc

Lost Timeline Arc was a great arc because it played in a parallel universe which was literally doomed. Laslow was dead, Mari moved to Kanto, it's unknown what's with Jacky (only that she was one of the children that disappeared), and Jayden went berserk in it, killing every last person in all the religious societies in Unova, supported by Dino who went just as insane, and Taji. The lost timeline they were headed to showed up to be the origin of the events changed in Time Travel Arc- since Kaoru and the other immortal children were executed, many children have disappeared from Aspertia due to Hypno's and the Driftloon's assault on the school there and the alternate Jayden lacked Lanturn in his team because the Pokémon succumbed to its wounds. This arc was playing with the cast's emotions (especially Jayden's) and was truly interesting because it showed the SoT world in a "post-apocalyptic" setup.

#2 Time Travel Arc

Time Travel Arc consisted of 4 different parts, dealing with different times and stories. The idea of the arc was that past events have come to change, bringing the very concept of time to collapse and cause a cataclysmic event to bring the world as they knew it to an end by shifting the balance between life (Xerneas) and death (Yveltal) to the death side. Mari and Jacky had to travel back in time to set the changed events back to their original course. Travelling to the past and getting to know some "lore" to the SoT series made it really interesting to read and, additionally to that, really exciting.

#1 Skull Infiltration/Eclipse Arc

Skull Infiltration and Eclipse are closely connected, that's why I kept'em together. These both arcs dealt with what transpired in Alola. Jayden infiltrated and disbanded Team Skull while the rest of the team was dealing with Æther and an unknown party known as Eclipse. As it turns out Eclipse is no other person than the one they used to trust from the start, Addam Kalani aka. Nathaniel Kurusu and things don't go quite as planned, the big showdown between the chosen ones of conflict, abundance, life, hope, sun and moon and the almighty ruler of the Ultraspace, Necrozma coming closer and closer. This arc is so awesome because it held many plot twists, sad incidents and struggles that you, as a reader, ultimately NEVER knew what was going to happen next.

Which arcs did you recall the most or like the most? Lemme know in the comments.
