Finally, dinner was over and the Gryffindors were walking back to their common room. Phoebe was expecting a nice relaxing evening after her first day of lessons, gods know how draining the day had been. What she wasn't expecting was to enter through the portrait hole to see Hermione yelling at Fred and George Weasley and one of their friends.

"It is not excellent!" She was shouting as the small group walked in.

"'Course it is, they're alive, aren't they?" One of the twins said back defensively. Phoebe raised her eyebrows.

"You can't do this, what if you made one of them really ill?" Hermione continued.

"We're not going to make them ill, we've already tested them all on ourselves, this is just to see if everyone reacts the same -"

"If you don't stop doing it, I'm going to-"

"Put us in detention?" One of them (Phoebe really needed to learn to tell the difference between them) said in a mocking tone.

"Make us write lines?" The other carried on the teasing.

Laughter echoed around the room, which Hermione didn't take well to; she drew herself up to full height, eyes narrowed in fury. Hermione looked quite scary like that and for a brief moment Phoebe was reminded strongly of Annabeth.

"No," Hermione started, voice shaking with anger, "But I will write to your mother."

The effect of this simple sentence was comical, the one on the right stepped back in horror and the other's face completely dropped.

"You wouldn't."

"Oh, yes, I would. I can't stop you eating the stupid things yourselves, but you're not giving them to first years." With that, she shoved a clipboard and some sweets to the worried looking twins and stormed over to chair near the fireplace.

Phoebe walked cautiously over, taking a seat by Ron, who was the latest Weasley to feel Hermione's wrath.

"Thank you for your support Ronald." She hissed, much like the orange cat at her feet.

Phoebe was still puzzled by the shouting match that had just occurred, when Hermione started burying tiny hats in rubbish, which was equally strange. Then her and Ron and a small argument over something called house elves, which resulted in Hermione leaving the room.

"Would anyone like to explain to me any of the events that just took place?" Phoebe asked when she left.

"She thinks the house elves are mistreated and deserve to be free, but what she doesn't understand is that they're perfectly happy here!" Ron exclaimed, still worked up, "And, so, she's trying to trick them into picking up these hats so they'll be able to leave, which is wrong!"

"And before that? With Fred and George."

"Oh, they invent pranking products with Lee Jordan. Hermione disproves of them testing the products on other students."

Huh, Phoebe didn't see the twins as inventors, that was rather a Hephaestus thing to do, rather than the Hermes she had originally categorised them into. To keep herself entertained throughout the day, Phoebe had been mentally sorting the people she had met into cabins at camp; Hermione was definitely Athena, that was easy; Harry was seeming very much like a child of Zeus at the moment, what with the temper and obvious power he held; she hadn't decided on Ron yet and she simply hadn't conversed with anyone else for long enough to even try and guess.

Phoebe glanced to her right when she saw movement from the corner of her eye, Harry had just stood up and was shoving pieces of parchment into his bag, looking as if he were in pain as he did so.

"I'm going to bed too." He said as he walked away, tension clear on his face, especially as he walked past Seamus. Phoebe felt really behind, not only in lessons but within the social groups at Hogwarts as well - there was so much tension seemingly between everyone. And Harry was at the centre of it all, for some reason.

Not long after Harry left, Ron vacated the common room as well, muttering something about checking on Harry. Phoebe didn't want to go back to her dorm just yet, she suspected Hermione would need some time to herself, so she was left with little options other than socialising. But who could she talk to? Ginny was still down here and she would like to get to know her better, but at the moment she was surrounded by friends and the sheer size of the group she was in intimidated Phoebe, though it probably shouldn't.

Fred and George were still in the common room and were walking around waking up a ton of sleeping students, who weren't nearly as off putting as Ginny's friends, so Phoebe decided she'd go and start a conversation with them.

"So, what exactly happened here?" She asked when she reached them. Both turned around to look at her, pausing momentarily in their attempts to wake up a small black haired boy.

"We were testing out our Fainting Fancies." One replied, finally managing to shake the boy awake.

"And what are those?"

"They're sweets-" Number One said as he moved towards a dark skinned girl, who was leaning unconscious against the wall.

"-That when you eat them-" Number Two said handing his brother a piece of yellow candy.

"-Make you faint." Number One finished, feeding the girl the fragment of candy.

Phoebe's eyes flickered back and forth between the two as they let each other finish their sentences. She wondered how much time that took to perfect.

"So what does that yellow bit do?"

"It revives the consumer,"

"They eat the orange half and they faint,"

"They eat the yellow part, they wake up," That was actually rather clever, Phoebe thought, they had obviously put a lot of effort into this.

"And what other candies have you made like this?"

The twins shared excited glances and turned to her, having restored all of their test subjects.

"Oh, we've made loads!"

"A whole Skiving Snackbox!"

"It's got Puking Pastilles, Nosebleed Nougats-"

"Fever Fudge, and of course the Fainting Fancies-"

"Which you just saw for yourself."

The twins ecstatic demeanours were contagious and Phoebe couldn't help but smile at their childlike excitement.

"I must admit, I'm feeling slightly more scared of your threat now," she expressed.

"Ah, I think we can let you off this once, right Georgey?" The one that must have been Fred grinned at his brother.

While she knew which twin was which, Phoebe quickly scanned the two for differences. George's tie was wonky, but that wouldn't help in the long run. Fred seemed to be the one who spoke first, but again, Phoebe wasn't sure that was always true or if it only applied to right now. A mole! On George's neck, just visible over his collar, was a mole. It wasn't much but it would definitely help.

"Yeah, I think we can let it slide, Freddy, after all, she is new around here," George grinned back.

"You're right, she doesn't know how things work around here yet." Fred agreed turning to George with a look on his face that suggested a plan was being formed.

"Perhaps we could help her out a little."

"Teach her the ways of good old Hogwarts."

Oh no, Phoebe could practically feel herself being dragged into something dangerous.

"It's fine, you don't have to do that." She said starting to back away towards the dorms, Hermione had had plenty of time to calm down.

"Nonsense!" Fred exclaimed.

"We'll give you a full tour of the castle on Saturday," George beamed.

"No, really, the others have already given me a tour, I'm fine." Phoebe explained, still trying to subtly walk away.

"Ah, but I bet they missed out all the good bits."

"We'll show you all the secret passage ways!"

"The shortcuts!"

"All the tricks in the book!"

"Well, not all the tricks, a true magician never reveals all his secrets."

"Thanks, that would be great," Phoebe smiled tightly. It couldn't be that bad, she guessed. Before the twins could propose anything else, she turned completely and headed for the dormitories, extremely ready to just fall asleep after her taxing first day.
